Thoroughly satisfying, I loved getting to know some of the quieter members of the crew. Emily and Bram completely won me over, and I loved them even more together! Curmudgeonly and enigmatic, Bram hides his inner shining knight, I liked that he was perceptive enough to see where he was needed and found a way to help. Tommie was such a hidden gem, and I loved seeing her come out of her shell as well as her selfless friendship with Emily.

A gripping read, filled with adventure strong themes of faith, and captivating characters. I loved how Emily's friends supported her, and the fantastic dialogue between Sheridan and Bram. I didn't want to put this book down. A wonderfully satisfyingly adventurous and romantic series, each book better than the last, you won't want to miss it!

I have very much enjoyed my reading adventures to the Scilly Isles and the hunt for Arthurian artifacts as the characters search for buried treasure and in turn find somethings much more valuable: friendship, love, acceptance, and the peace of God.

This is Bram and Emily's story, and the side characters of Tommie (Thomasina) who is Emily's lady's maid, and Enyon, who is Oliver's best friend. Emily comes from a family who do not love or accept her. She is basically a pawn for her parents and nothing to her brother. Tommie has a few deep seeded secrets she is keeping to herself in regard to Emily's family as well. Nonetheless, Emily is ashamed of her position in her family, unloved and unwanted.

Especially compared to her best friends whose brothers are loving and protective, and do not see her as something insignificant to torture. I felt for Emily as her feelings, fears, and insecurities came rolling off the pages.

Bram, Libby's brother, is a protector and really an all-around knight in shining armor. He has a vast knowledge of Arthurian legends; some I was not even aware of. So just like the Islands themselves, I went in search of some of these legends author White included in her story. I enjoy learning new tales and due to that I could understand Bram's somewhat obsession of Lyonesse and the hero Tristan. Bram also is asking some deep spiritual questions, as many do, and trying to reconcile all that he knows and learned to a God he does not quite understand. And in the meantime, he becomes enamored with Lady Emily and her plight, striving to be the hero she needs.

This was a wonderful ending to an adventurous, treasure finding series. All the characters were back for this last adventure, and it was like going on a treasure hunt along with them. I enjoyed watching the friendships and the love deepen among this group of people who were from all walks of life and found a grand adventure to share together.

What I Loved About This Book

The third in the Secrets of the Isles series, readers can enjoy Worthy of Legend as a stand-alone novel. But why miss the other two books in the series? White delves into sacrificial love and relationships within families in this book. How can one love unconditionally yet maintain boundaries with family members? Readers will enjoy the mystery of the treasure hunt and the descriptions of island society. Fans of Downton Abbey will love the book (and the series).

This whole series has been so good! I have really loved the setting on the Isles, it serves as a fascinating backdrop for the stories. In this novel, we get to follow Emily and Bram, who we met earlier in the series, and I loved reading more about their relationship. Bram’s declaration of love was just so perfect! I enjoyed reading about the growth of both Bram and Emily in the story and I think the author does a fantastic job of highlighting some incredible spiritual truths, including the truth that we are worthy to God, no matter what. This can be applied to my own life and makes the characters seem more real and personable. There is intrigue in the novel that kept my attention and I was eager to know the conclusion. I am a bit sad to leave the Isles behind as I have really enjoyed this series. I highly recommend this novel!

Wow, what an excellent finish to The Secrets of the Isles series. Having read the first two books in the series and several other books by Roseanna M. White, I was eager to read Worthy of Legend. I was not disappointed in the least! It is an engaging historical romance. A person could read this third book of the series and find it an entertaining and satisfying tale but reading the complete series brings a depth to the story one wouldn't want to miss. I liked how the characters are so realistic in their feelings and actions and how they grow and mature in their emotional and spiritual lives as the story unfolds. The friendship that develops between Emily and her lady's maid, Tommie, is sweet. The banter between Bram and Sheridan is realistic and fun to read. The romances, yes, plural! are delightful, although not without obstacles and difficult situations. Oh, that first kiss!!! And, of course, there are those characters that one doesn't like, which adds a little extra dimension and appeal to the story. The history of life on the Scilly Isles, off the southwestern coast of England, during the early 1900s and the stories of King Arthur, are fascinating. Scenes and conversations are authentic and add so much. Lessons of faith throughout give readers much to think about regarding forgiveness, mercy, and one's sense of worth. Several surprise twists to the plot and an edge-of-the-seat climactic ending certainly kept my interest high. Readers who enjoy engaging historical fiction will not want to miss Worthy of Legend. The final installment of The Secrets of the Isles, Worthy of a Legend continues the search for antiquities and focuses in on Lady Emily Scofield and her estranged relationship with her family. As more clues surface regarding a priceless artifact, Emily's brother Nigel becomes more and more desperate and unhinged. Can Emily continue to show love to a brother who would stop at nothing to make the discovery that he feels would make him earn his father's respect? As for Lord Telford, who has a hidden passion for Arthurian legend, and is drawn to protect those who need it, how will he help this quest while keeping the Lady safe?

This entire trilogy has been amazing. I have loved the characters, the setting, and the adventure. I love how the characters interact, and draw closer to each other throughout the course of the trilogy. One of my favorite parts is the friendships amongst the male characters. Additionally, the truths revealed as the characters struggle through their conflicts and trials are so realistic. Don't we all want to feel worthy of love? Don't we all wish to know that God cares about us personally? Lady Emily and Lord Telford may come to those conclusions a little more dramatically than the average non-fictional person, but they reveal the truths that we are loved and we are worthy to God.

I am sad that this trilogy is over; I could continue to enjoy this cast of characters for several more books. I can only wait impatiently for the author's next set of novels.

I give Worthy of Legend 5 stars.

We see evil pitted against good, personified in Nigel Scofield, and unselfish, sacrificing love shown by his sister, Emily, and the earl of Telford. This novel includes an additional mysterious element—a search for an object from the legendary King Arthur. Although this novel may not contain quite as much action as the prior book, it is steeped in suspense and intrigue, along with plenty of surprises and touching scenes. It brought tears too. I love the way the author develops such interesting, relatable characters and places them in engaging plots. I am sorry to see this series end. I received a copy from the author. With her latest installment in The Secrets of the Isles series, Roseanna M. White has once again woven together an intricate story of faith and adventure. Combining stories of pirates with Arthurian legend, Worthy of Legend takes the familiar cast of characters on another treasure hunt, this time to find an artifact rumored to belong to King Arthur himself. I loved the chance to get to know both Emily and Bram more. They have wells of strength and character that I enjoyed discovering as I read. I also loved the chance to revisit a familiar setting, reconnecting with favorite characters from other books in the series. Filled with clearly researched depth and detail, Worthy of Legend is a Christian romance and adventure novel not to be missed.

Worthy of Legend by Roseanna M. White is such a worthy ending to the series of The Secrets of the Isles! Friendship, loyalty, romance a keeping their previous discoveries safe. I really enjoy Ms. White's books and her writing. Great story lines, descriptive writing and wonderful characters. This final book of the series spotlights Lady Emily and Bram Sinclair, Earl of Telford as well as a continuation of the characters from the previous books.

Taking place on the beautiful Isles of Scilly off the coast of Cornwall in Great Britten. Where friends find pirate treasures and discover what a hero really is and true friendship as they deal with unscrupulous people. I highly recommend this whole series.

Worthy of Legend takes place on the Isles of Scilly, a cluster of islands near Cornwall. There is treasure hunting, suspense, romance, and legends of kings and knights.

I enjoyed getting to know Emily and her lady’s maid, Thomasina better, but really was saddened by the treatment of both women. I’m glad that they ended up getting some resolution.
I liked Bram. He and I have lots in common. We both wake up at night, like dogs, love chocolate, and want to punch Nigel in the nose! But Sheridan is still my favorite in this series.

All in all , I would say it’s a very bittersweet ending to a beautiful series.

I loved this book by Roseanna M. White and I am sad to see the series end. I loved the adventure and the search for treasure. I loved getting to know Bram and his love of all things Arthur and how he tried to keep that hidden from others. I loved how his belief in these legends shaped his character into being the honorable man that he is. I also loved how Emily’s friends helped her to see her true worth even when her own family treated her terribly. I really enjoyed this series and seeing these characters come together, fall in love, and solve mysteries. I would love to be friends with these people. I highly recommend this book and series.

With plenty of suspense and adventure, Roseanna M. White concludes her Secrets of the Isles series with the story of Lady Emily and Bram, Earl of Telford. Filled with daring deeds and imagination, and populated with colorful, engaging characters and a few villains, this story continues the tale set in the Scilly Islands off the coast of Cornwall in 1906. With White’s wit and humor thrown in, this makes for a lively and entertaining story.

“And he had no need to worry about Lady Abbie and Lady Millicent. They were more Sheridan’s mothers than sisters, and they could intimidate the lichen off a stone if they glared at it enough.”

It was fun to have the stars of the previous books of the series continue in this one. Although this could possibly be read alone, I would strongly suggest the books in the series be read in order, as I feel you need the backstory from the others to really understand what is going on.

I always enjoy this author’s inspirational messages which are integrated seamlessly into the story. They add an additional layer and are uplifting to the reader.

This book has something for everyone—suspense, action, adventure, inspiration, and a strong dose of romance and gallantry. I would recommend this to readers who enjoy historical romance. 4.5 stars

This is the final book in the series and centers around Bram (Lord Telford), Emily (Lady Scofield), and the other characters we’ve come to know throughout the series. Bram, who was a bit of a jerk in the first novel, has completely redeemed himself and may be my favorite of the three hero’s in this series. He’s the perfect partner to build Lady Emily’s confidence after her father and brother have not just shattered it, but ground it completely to dust.

So why three stars? It just dragged. I started reading Roseanna White a few years ago and loved the action and building of the personal relationship that we found in her spy and code breaker novels. This series had less action and less interactions between the two main characters. It took me too long to get through which is a clear sign that this wasn’t a strong winner for me.

Roseanna M. White is an author that never fails to entertain. Her latest series concludes with this novel, allowing the reader to experience the finale of the treasure hunt along with the characters we have gotten to know. This particular novel is Emily and Bram’s story, beautiful in its unexpected sweetness to the two of them and fulfilling to us as readers.

I cannot even imagine being Emily. She may have all the things money can buy, but what she wants most is kept from her: love. Not necessarily romantic love, though the possibility of that could be taken away as well if her domineering father continues to use her to further his ambition. Yet her very invisibility within her family makes her a particularly poignant character, especially as others see her worth readily.

I love how she looks at history, at what she thinks is important. It stems from her past in many ways, but it also gives her a beautiful way to look at others, to value them despite appearance or whether they have any display-able qualities. Everyday items and people captivate her, and I love that she maintained her kindness despite her upbringing.

Bram is a bit her opposite, at least outwardly. His grumpy exterior hides a golden heart and he immediately wants to shield Emily from things that would hurt her. At first it seems as if his interest is merely for another living creature, but the reader glimpses his heart earlier than he does.

Love plays an important part in this novel. Of course there is the romantic thread, but the love of family is highlighted throughout, both in its beauty and in its lack. Loving others as they are is valued, demonstrated by the love God has for us, even when we were His enemies. This is undoubtedly a high standard and it is refreshing to see the characters realistically struggle with it, just as many of us do daily.

There really is so much to love about this book: characters who breathe from the pages, a compelling plot that culminates in dramatic and exciting fashion, history and fiction blended together seamlessly, and an underlying faith message that does not preach but impacts the characters and their decisions in realistic ways. While I have enjoyed every book I have read by this author, this one is my new favorite and I give it my highest recommendation for teens and up.

I don’t have words. Well, I have words, but I don’t think I have adequate words to do this book justice. My goodness is Worthy of Legend by Roseanna M. White a seriously fantastic story. I loved every single second of this novel. Bram and Emily are the BEST characters ever. I adored Bram’s need to be a knight in shining armor. For Bram, it’s not about the glory of saving the day, but rather the drive to help someone in need. It’s like he physically hurts when someone else hurts. I don’t even care that he is a handsome man (he is, by the way) because his excellent Protector character trumps his physical attractiveness. Emily, OH MY HEART! I hurt so badly for this woman. I will not say one thing about her story because I will accidentally spoil something, but just know Emily’s story will hurt your heart. She is, without a doubt, a heroine who deserves a happily ever after. And the villain, Emily’s brother, is SCARY. He freaked me out. I was so paranoid every time he was on scene. There’s a moment with a puppy — yeah, I don’t think I breathed the entire chapter. White can really craft some stellar characters, both good and bad.

I’m not going to discuss anything about Emily’s story, but I do want to mention my struggle with her character. Emily’s character was a mirror for me and I struggled hard with what I saw. Emily is good. Like impossibly good. Like Jesus-would-be-proud-of-her good. She made me squirm. Emily’s brother is broken and evil, and her father is super selfish and abusive. These are people you do all you can to stay far, far away from. But Emily has done all she can to figure them out, to see the good in them, to love them. Even through very bad things, Emily wants to love her family. Why? Because she knows that is what God does. He loves the broken, hard, hurt people. Emily would actually choose to lose her life for her brother and/or father. She is sacrificial. I had a difficult time because I don’t know how to be this way with the people who have hurt me. I don’t know how to push through and love them anyway. They scare me. They make me want to run away and hide. I don’t know how to rise above these feelings. I get it…the expected answer is to pray more and ask Jesus to guide me. I get that. I’ve done that. I’ll continue to do that. But I’m not like Emily and that’s been a really difficult pill to swallow because I do want to be more like her character.

Worthy of Legend is a seriously great story. Definitely, this novel makes my top-ten list for 2022. This is a beautiful story of adventure, love, forgiveness, and redemption, and I cannot recommend it enough. Worthy of Legend is a story you will not want to miss.

I loved this final installment in the Secrets of the Isles trilogy by Rosanna M White. I was so glad to get to read Bram and Emily’s story. Both of them have been important secondary characters in the first two novels and now it’s their time to shine. Emily is truly an inspiring character; even though she’s cut off from her family at the beginning of the story, and this causes her great anxiety, she does not give up on her convictions and standing for truth. Even though that means going against her father and brother who are only out for selfish gain. I’m not so sure that I would have the same strength of character as her. Bram is also an inspiring character – he may even be one of my top favorite romantic heroes now! Although he would have to share his chocolate with me, haha. His love of the legends of King Arthur have a positive effect on him as he is very chivalrous and gentlemanly towards most, especially Emily. As they continue the treasure hunt, the stakes rise until they must decide what will honoring to God, and worthy of legend? Both Emily and Bram put it all on the line- and again I really don’t know if I would be up for such a challenge! I really adored these characters and how their lives intertwined, and challenged me as a Christian. I also enjoyed the search for the last of the treasure, and seeing the characters from the first two books. I’m sad that this is the end of the adventures! A Great Journey To Go On

What a great story! This book kept me wondering how things would turn out from the beginning to the end. Hunting King Arthur’s treasures and learning of the legends was so fun. With all the twists and turns, the search took me on a journey I won’t soon forget. I can just imagine being there and finding all kinds of nooks and crannies on that land and that house.
I also loved Bram and Emily’s romance as well as getting to spend more time with the rest of the crew.
I loved the way Emily tried to find the good in her father and brother. She tried to have forgiveness and mercy towards them. She knew God loved them even though they were not honorable men and she wanted them to do right.
Well this book had it all, mystery, love and great characters. I think you would certainly enjoy this story if you like Historical Fiction.

*sigh* This book, this story, these characters, this setting, this series….. it has been a long time since I have enjoyed a series as much as I did this one. Treasure hunts with protective heroes, dangerous adventures, and happily ever afters are my kind of story. Worthy of Legend, the third installment of The Secret of the Isles series, delivered all of this and more. Bram is a hero to measure all heroes against, who is protective but does nothing but support Emily in her pursuit of independence from her family lost in greed and selfishness. When they are thrust together in search of a treasure of King Arthur lore, the search becomes perilous and beautifully romantic. With the climax of this book being one the best action scenes I have ever seen depicted in the written word, I was riveted until the happily ever after. Do. Not. Miss. This. Series.

It's very rare that I like the final book in a series as much as, if not more, than previous ones--especially the first. I am a sucker for Book 1 in most series--Lord of the Rings and Narnia (publication order!), just to name two).

This book is a glorious exception to that. (And I would like a real-life Bram, please. :D)

My interest in many things literature related, especially British, has been re-stoked recently --from Jane Austen to the Inklings to literary criticism. (It apparently took 20 years for my desire to major in English to actually pan out, or at least find solace in pursuing similar for fun and not for a degree. Ha!) So this book combined many of my favorite things all in one: mystery, romance, days gone by (both near-ish and far) in British history, legend, myth ... and of course plenty of action and adventure!

White has outdone herself with a beautiful book (with a beautiful cover). She also seamlessly weaves in many a wise word on mercy, justice, the gospel, and the Savior that relentlessly, lovingly pursues us all. Amazing.

A Thrilling Conclusion to an Enchanting Series

I have loved the entire The Secrets of the Isles series. Each book is filled with adventure, mystery, romance, and the magic of legends. I was so excited to see how things would wrap up in Worthy of Legend, and it did not disappoint.

One of the things I love most about Roseanna M. White’s books is her ability to craft characters that leap off the page and carve places out for themselves in your heart. The characters in Worthy of Legend are no exception. Emily is such an endearing heroine that I think so many readers will be able to relate to. Her struggles with self-worth and trust are a constant theme throughout the book, paving the way for lessons on learning to stand up for yourself, for what is right, and to trust those that have your best interest at heart.

Bram is a delightful hero most worthy of the title. Who wouldn’t love an earl that rescues stray dogs, has a heart that longs to protect the downtrodden, and is never without a sweet of some sort? His fascination with the legends of King Arthur is endearing and it was fun to read about the search for Arthurian treasure.

Another thing that I have loved about this series is how the lady’s maids play such a big role in each story, having their own points of view included in the books. Thomasina was a lovely character and I enjoyed reading as her story with Enyon unfolded. And, of course, it was great getting to revisit characters from throughout the series, like Mamm-wynn, Libby and Oliver, and Beth and Sheridan.

The Isles of Scilly are characters themselves in this series. These enchanting islands off the coast of Cornwall draw you in with the lure of pirate treasure and knightly legends, and its flower studded shores are dusted in a fairytale magic that will captivate you. It pairs so nicely with with White’s engaging prose, lovely messages of faith, and hints of mystery, and culminates in a truly delightful reading experience.

Fans of Christian historical romance will most definitely want to grab a copy of Worthy of Legend.
