I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Meghan Quinn is the Queen of rom coms!

The characters personalities jump off the page and the dialogue between them all is hilarious. I loved the main characters, Fallon and Sawyer as well as the side characters who each bring their own shine to the story. The chemistry between Fallon and Sawyer is unmistakable and adds just the right amount of steam.

This is a love story but more importantly it also sheds light on people with Alzheimer’s. Reading how Fallon has to take care of her grandfather who is diagnosed with the disease is heartbreaking. You can truly feel how deep her love and devotion is to him and the bond that develops between him and Sawyer is also very sweet.

Please be sure to check out this five star book when it’s out in October! Thank you Montlake for the chance to read this! Cheers to Meghan Quinn for another amazing book it’s truly *chefs kiss*!

Fallon + Sawyer

Sawyer just kinda ruined the wedding of his ex girlfriend to his ex best friend. And yes, he was invited. He was supposed to be the best man! But he just couldn't stand there and listen to those idiots telling lies about everything - so he stormed out ... Hollywood style! LOL!
Now he's hiding in a cabin by a lake in the San Jacinto Mountains near Palm Springs.

Fallon's grandpa owns those cabins and they're falling apart. Fallon came back to Canoodle to help her Alzheimer-stricken grandpa with his life and to fix up the resort.
But it's not looking too good for the business. They need to sell it soon - but she still has a few weeks left to turn everything around.

Her childhood home away from home is falling apart.
Her long-distance boyfriend wants to make things more permanent. Ew?
Her only paying guest is a Hollywood type who doesn't even remember that he was once on a date with her.
Her bestie is ready to kill people ....

Let the fun times begin!

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO FALLON + SAWYER?
WILL WE GET A HAPPY END?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! 😎

That was so adorable and hilarious!
I have to admit that this is my first Meghan Quinn book!
And I loved it! I loved the location - the whole small-town, everyone-knows-everyone vibe. I loved the supporting cast - Jaz is just hilarious - with her knife and just everything! Grandpa Sully is adorable - especially with Sawyer. LOL! The dads are perfect - the way they basically did all of Sawyer's script-writing at the end. Too cute!
And Fallon and Sawyer... we don't get insta sparks with them. It takes them a while to fall for each other - or rather it takes her a while! LOL. But the reader loves every second of that journey!
I loved the epilogue! Perfect! I hate it when authors go all literaturey and don't do epilogues! This Hollywood version was amazing!

This was such a super funny and adorable and sweet and slightly heartbreaking romance.

I soo need to see this on TV one day!
The people, the location. This just needs to be on a screen!

I don't know how Meghan's books usually are in the sexy-department. But this was a tiny bit too slow-burnish for my tastes. A huge part of that is that Fallon has a boyfriend for most of the book. 😕 And then the usual romance novel drama/misunderstanding/fight towards the end was a bit too over the top and unnecessary for my tastes.
But all the adorableness and funny moments made up for that. I really enjoyed reading this book!

► RUNAWAY GROOMSMAN was such a funny + adorable love story - I just loved reading it! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Sawyer aka Julia aka Phil - this one is mine!

4.5 Stars— This book will make you laugh, smile, and give you all the feels— everything you expect from a Meghan Quinn book.

Sawyer is forced to be the best man in the wedding of his ex, who cheated on him, to his best friend. As expected, this is an awful experience. He hits a breaking point and makes a run for it to a small town where he must work while in hiding to keep his job in the competitive screenwriting field. There, he meets Fallon who he went one one, bad, date with years ago. During his stay, he develops a true friendship and relationship with Fallon that in turn becomes a romantic screenplay. The first-person dual POV really makes this story so amazing.

It’s a small town romance at heart, and the fact that we’ve got Runaway Bride— but make it a jilted groomsman makes it romcom gold.

I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher on NetGalley in exchange for this review.

I really hate to have to write this review as I have been the biggest Meghan Quinn fan for years. I have read almost every single one of her books but her last few releases having been missing something as well as being far too predictable.

This isn't a Meghan Quinn romance, it was more women's fiction. I hated the fact Fallon had a boyfriend for around 60% of the book. I can handle a love triangle but it did not work for me. I didn't feel the chemistry at all. I didn't understand the point of them having been on a date in the past and him not remembering?

This book is more about the screenwriting than a love story itself. Where was the typical Megan Quinn steaminess? The banter was there but the book just didn't work for me sadly.

I have been a reader of Meghan Quinn's for a long time, and she never fails to bring me smiles, laughter and swoon! When I saw a new title for her, I was so excited to get to read another book of hers!

Runaway Groomsman follows Sawyer, a screenwriter from Los Angeles who is forced into witnessing his ex marry his best friend, after having been cheated on, from the vantage point of the Best Man's spot at the altar. Sawyer decides, screw them, and runs out on the ceremony in an epically disastrous fashion. He ends up hiding out in a small mountain town in California a little ways away from Palm Springs, where he is forced into coming up with his next big romcom screenplay if he wants to keep his business with his biggest client. While he's there, he comes across Fallon, the granddaughter of the owner of the cabins in town, who he had a blind date with a long time ago. Unfortunately for them both, Sawyer was a jerk on their blind date and doesn't recognize Fallon but she recognizes him. While Sawyer is hiding out, he's helping around the cabin property with its renovations and forming a friendship with Fallon and her grandfather. The two move forward in their own version of a romcom, often narrated in Sawyer's head as if it is a screenplay being written.

I love Meghan, and I always will read her work because she has proven over time to be a hilarious writer who nails the swoon factor time and time again. This story wasn't my favorite of hers, the zany parts were just a little too forced for me, but I'll 100% be returning to her in the future because she has claimed her spot in my life as one of my favorite romantic comedy authors. I can't wait to see what else she comes out with and I'll be cheering her on no matter what!

Such a funny book! So many one-liners that made me laugh out loud. Cute town, quirky characters, and LOL moments. Just a great book all around.

I will add this comment because I started to get concerned after a few chapters… please note, except for the ex-girlfriend storyline at the start of the book, there is no cheating. Just FYI

i have mixed feelings about this book. it was bad but it wasn’t great either. i felt it was slow moving and kind of predictable. to be honest a little cringy as well. but, i did love Sully. he was a great touching character mixed in there.

This ARC was provided to me via Kindle, Montlake and by #NetGalley. Opinions expressed are completely my own.

A quick, predictable will they or won’t they, should they or shouldn’t they love story.

A wonderful twist on a classic runaway story. The dual POV's let you see right into the characters heads and understand their loves and hurts. This book kept me captivated the whole way through with lovable characters and representation. Seeing the clichés through a screenwriter's POV was super interesting and the sugary sweet happy ending was the perfect cherry on top to end a wonderful book.

Before we begin, I'd just like to say, ANNALISA AND SIMON CAN GO SUCK LARGE HAIRY B4LLS!!!

God that felt good to get off my chest. Let's now begin.

I loved this book to the moon and back. it’s just one of those small town angsty-ish romances that I love to read. Another huge plus about this book was that it was written in first person dual POV, so I got to see into everyone’s heads.

Also, the plot was absolutely wonderful. A runaway best man? Practically unheard of. I think it was totally clever. I think this was probably one of the best books I've read this year(and I've read a bunch).

The friendship between Tank, Sawyer and Sully was precious and adorable to watch grow, and every scene with Sully and Sawyer made my heart want to cry. The two of them were basically mirror versions of one another, both enamored by a strong, enchanting woman who was already taken by another man.

Oh and the way Fallon's dads basically wrote the entire movie was a total power move!!!

5 stars overall, and you should 100% read it!!!

Thank you NetGalley for giving me this ARC!
