I received this book as an ARC for an honest and voluntary review. I already had it on pre-order but jumped at the chance to read it early. This is the 18th book in the Red Stone Security series. Ms. Reus had originally concluded the series, however her fans love it so much she brought it back. Every book can be read as a stand alone. So if this is your first one, you're not missing anything. With a security company as big as Redstone you have a lot of yummy Alpha males to write about. It's a formula that has worked for 17 previous books, broody Alpha male and independent woman that doesn't want to be a damsel in distress. Most are set in Miami, a place I visit at least once a year, so when I read these I feel like I get extra time there, without the hassle of travel :)
Gia is the sister of a Redstone operative, Juan who got his own HEA in a previous installment, but again it doesn't matter if you didn't read his book. Lawson is Juan's best friend all the way back to their Marine days, also works for Redstone, and he's noticed Gia alright, but well it's his best friend's sister after all. However things start to change for them at Juan and Angel's wedding and then comes to a head when Gia has a stalker.
There's a nice little side story about Clarita and Carlos, Angel's sister, also the designer that Gia is modeling for. It added to the book, and addresses that "funk" a lot of marriages hit around 15 years, when the children are becoming teenagers and the dynamics change.
I know that Redstone number 19 is on the way and I eagerly wait for it.

Best friend Sister trope is one of my favorites. Oh the forbidden aspect of it gets me every time. The angst and the drama of will they wont they. Lawson was very much alpha like all of Katie's heroes. Gia was such a kind, strong character that I truly adored. Guarding Her was filled with drama, suspense, and plenty of sexy times. I absolutely love this series and hope Ka thg ie continues in this world.

4/5 ☆

This is the first book I've read in the Red Stone Security series and it was well received! It was fast paced, steamy, and the plot was interesting. That being said, this can be read as a standalone.

Gia has been obsessed with her brother's best friend for as long as she remembers. What she doesn't realize is the feeling is completely mutual. When she is suddenly thrown in the spotlight and is subjected to danger from a stalker, Lawson jumps at the chance to become her bodyguard. I love a good security romance and Lawson and Gia's relationships delivers on that completely. He is an alpha male that is very protective (but not overbearing) of Gia and goes out of his way to ensure her safety at all costs. I loved their chemistry and sexy scenes along with the side character stories (Clarita, her brother's wedding, etc).

Really fun read and makes me want to get back into security romances! Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC!

Tropes:
-Bodyguard romance
-Age gap (not explicitly mentioned)
-Brother's best friend
-HEA

Gia had a fantasy boyfriend that even her brother didn’t know about, which was one of his best friends.. She works from home and not use to putting her self out there. After doing a favor, she started getting weird messages. Thus she is more than happy to have her fantasy boyfriend step in to help, as a bodyguard.
. Good series, though each can be read alone. Given ARC by Net Galley and KR Press for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

This is part 18 of a bodyguard romance series. I haven't read any other books in the series and it can be read as a standalone. The bodyguarding part of the plot didn't develop until relatively deep into the story, which surprised me. The book spent a lot of time on a side plot involving a married couple. I was not expecting so much page-time to be devoted to someone other than the main romantic couple, but perhaps readers of this author look for that.

I would recommend this for patrons who are interested in a quick, bodyguard-lite story, with a large cast of characters.

4.5 Guarding Her Stars🌟

Gia works from home and is hoping to launch her own illustrations and story but is scared about putting herself out there. When a chance model opportunity for her soon to be sister in law comes up, Gia is more than happy to help…that is until she starts receiving weird messages and someone tries to break into her house🤭

Lawson has feelings for Gia but due to his relationship with her brother, he’s tried to keep her off limits, that is until he realises she has feelings for him and danger slowly starts to make itself known😳

A good story that I enjoyed along with catching up with some old favourite characters as well❣️ I look forward to more in this series in the future and thank the publisher and Netgalley for my advanced copy which I voluntarily leave my honest thoughts and review❤️

Another great book in the Red Stone Security series. The anticipation of Gia and Lawson finally getting intimate was almost as hard for me as it was for them. I loved the fact that Gia was a model but isn't super skinny. Lawson is hooked hard on her. I loved reading, Guarding Her.

Guarding Her (Kindle Edition) by Katie Reus
This one is worth more than 5 stars! One of my favorites in a long time. Lawson ( Red Stone Security expert) and Gia ( his co-worker and best friend’s sister). This means there is a big OFF LIMITS sign on her back. There is danger, misunderstandings, laughter, tears, weddings, beginnings, endings, lots of old friends, plenty of steam, a crazy stalker, angst and love to get us to a HEA.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Easy-to-read Action-packed Scary Wonderful characters Happily Ever After Entertaining Tear-jerker Romantic Page-turner Steamy Funny Twisted

Gia works from home and ends up modeling bathing suits for a friend. One of the videos go viral. Gia doesn’t care about the attention except when she starts getting hate mail. Lawson was in the Marines with Gia’s brother Juan. He now works for Red Stone Security. Lawson has been attracted to Gia for a while but is afraid of ruining his relationship with his best friend. When the stalker gets closer, Lawson takes her to his place for protection. Will he get the woman of his dreams and lose his best friend?

I loved this story. I’m not fond of several point of views but it was even suspenseful. Friends to lovers. Sexual tension. Over protective brother.

Wow!!! This one is a winner! I loved this story and couldn't put the book down. Gia is suddenly thrust into the spotlight when a video she's in goes viral. She gets lots of undesirable attention along with some very serious threats. Lawson makes himself her protector and they're fighting against an unknown enemy..

Lawson and Gia have enough sexual tension to combust the novel's pages. I loved their relationship and I felt invested in their story. I wanted them to get their HEA ending, but loved their journey towards a HEA ending so much that it didn't want it to end.

If you enjoy the genre, you will love this one! While this is a stand alone novel, it's so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. The author is on my must read authors' list.

Guarding her by Kate Reus.
Red stone security #18.
After a video of her modeling her friend’s new clothing line goes viral, Gia suddenly finds herself thrust into the spotlight. She never wanted fame—she was just having fun and helping a friend. Unfortunately now she’s got a target on her back. Someone out there will do anything to destroy her. Someone who wants her dead.
A brilliant read. Great story and characters. I loved Gia and Lawson. Even Clarita. I wouldn't get on the wrong side of her. 5*.
