I thought that this book was well done, I enjoyed listening to the narrator. This book was very meditative and healing. I loved the first book by this author, and have been following his story. I feel that he dives in and explains things in an easy way to tackle. This book is a practice in meditation and helps step by step dissect how to practice living.

Interesting audiobook.

Good spirituality book, the narrator is very compelling and really draws you attention. Would read it again in some time, when in need of a grounding read.

Michael Singer does it again.
This is a punch in the face while like getting ready to walk on a tight rope.
He always put things in a simple way so you can dip your toe in and try it one step at a time. And is a cheerleader throughout.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read and reflect on this beautiful audiobook.

Another winner from Micheal Singer. I appreciated how he extended the central ideas from his previous work and gave the reader fresh ideas.

I loved Michael Singer’s previous books The Untethered Soul and The Surrender experiment and have found this audio offering, Living Untethered to be equally as thought provoking, insightful and invaluable.

Michael’s understanding of consciousness and overall philosophy is presented in a logical way, providing practical steps directing the reader towards an experience of deeper peace and happiness.

I appreciate Michael Singers teaching enormously and will continue to revisit Living Untethered while endeavouring to implement the wisdom found therein.

Thank you to NetGalley and Tantor Audio for this ARC audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

This book is quite profound and has similar vibes as any Eckhart Tolle book. The author describes that there is much resistance in our lives and “resistance creates tension and anxiety and makes life a burden.” He continues to explain that excepting reality and exploring the nature of ourselves and reasons why we resist things will help us to live more fulfilled lives. We need to learn to surrender and let go; we need to accept rather than resist. He continues by discussing the three objects of consciousness: experience outside world through our senses, thoughts and feelings & emotions. Further to this he quotes that “you are not your thoughts you notice your thoughts.” Another deep concept is that “everything changes but we are the constant being (consciousness).” Questions posed by the author: Where do your thoughts exist? What are thoughts and where do they come from? Further focus on dreams and moods/emotions and their relationship with thoughts, energy flow within the body and blockages within this flow.

Narrated by the author, he does a wonderful job with his tone and speed. He had great real life examples of the concepts discussed making them more digestible and understandable. He mentions ideas and suggests ways to move through our human condition with less suffering and with more acceptance. It’s one of those texts that will take awhile to digest and likely need to come back to for further absorbing.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this eARC version of this audiobook for my honest thoughts and opinion. I would recommend this book to those who appreciate deep, profound and thought proving books on life. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

"People are using the outside to fix the inside. We need to figure out why it's not nice inside."

I picked this one up after having quite enjoying his previous book, The Untethered Soul.

This is a book to own, so you can highlight and annotate your way through it! He does an amazing job of looking at yourself and helping you see what perhaps you haven't seen before. He makes you think beyond what you currently see and consider what you can do differently in a very obtainable way.

I suppose this is self-help, but don't let that stop you from reading it. I feel like it makes you look at your soul itself, and really consider what your soul needs and wants. It's a great read if you enjoy self help and even if you don't!

I listened to this on audio, which wasn't my favorite because too many times I needed to jot a note down or would've love to underline. I also didn't care for the narration that the author did.

Thank you to NetGalley and Tantor Audio for the advance audiobook.

4.5 I love Michael A. Singer and his spiritual philosophies and his first spiritual book I still reread today. It sits on my self whenever I need a good self care, mental health moment. This book did not disappoint. I love how he can open my mind and heart and change my life for the better. I find it helpful to read these books whenever I question my life and where I need to go next.
If your looking for a Enlighted book this book is for you. It gives Zen a whole new meaning and can be very comforting

I am a huge fan of Mr. Singer’s book The Untethered Soul. It has been hugely transformative in my spiritual journey. I was really excited to receive an advanced reader’s copy of this from NetGalley thinking it would offer practical ways to implement the big ideas in The Untethered Soul but I was disappointed. The book feels far less accessible than the first and I don’t feel like I learned anything new or deeper for having read this follow up. If I hadn’t been familiar with the previous book maybe this would’ve resonated more. It feels like an unnecessary addition and I was bored.

ARC audiobook provided by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

“Living Untethered” is a follow up to the author’s book “The Untethered Soul,” which I previously read and gave a five-star review. “The Untethered Soul” opened up my mind and heart and changed quite a bit of how I think. I loved it so much I also bought the companion “Guided Journal.” As a result, I was ecstatic when I heard that “Living Untethered” was on its way, and I was grateful for the ARC opportunity from the publisher.

“Living Untethered” explores the relationship between the mind and spirit. As in the prior work, this book addresses the voice in our head and how to manage it. It examines where your thoughts and emotions come from and how they intertwine with your spirit and energy flow. Through this examination, the author provides guidance on how to heal past traumas that block this energy flow and negatively affect you. The author proffers tactics to help you reach “a life of liberation, serenity, openness, and self-knowledge.”

Okay, I’m the first to admit that this book sounds like typical New Age conjecture, but it is not. I’m honestly not a fan of New Age books. I was introduced to this author by a friend who convinced me that I had to read “The Untethered Soul.” I did, and it was groundbreaking for me. It connected with me in a way I never expected, opened my eyes to new concepts, and guided me to new behaviors.

This book was an excellent follow up to “The Untethered Soul.” Where the last book left off, this book picks up nicely with a more comprehensive examination of psychological scars, or samskaras, that we all have. Whether or not we address them, these scars continuously impact our lives, blocking us in varying ways that hold the reader back, as the book description states, “from reaching your highest potential.” The author provides a deep dive into the varying ways we gain these scars, how they mark us, and how they affect our energy flow, negatively impacting our spirit. There were some religious quotations throughout, but I enjoyed the book so much that I simply ignored these as they didn’t really pertain to me. Instead, the author describes the spirit we each have in such a way that I completely related. I immediately identified my own spirit and acknowledged many of the psychological scars impacting my “energy flow.” The author presents this book in a manner that I was able to easily relate and tailor to my own life.

As with the prior book, I found myself engrossed in the content, leading me to quickly tear through the book. I did feel that the book got a little slow at times, but the rest of the book was so good that I didn’t mind. This book has given me ideas on changes I can make to better address my own psychological scars and improve my “energy flow.” I believe that this book offers real world suggestions to help improve our lives in such a small way with such a big payoff. We all bear scars, and I am grateful that this author has provided us with a unique way to not only view these scars, but also on how to address them to improve ourselves and our lives.

My copy of this book was the audiobook version, so I must comment on the narration. This book was narrated by the author himself, which I have always thought can be a good or bad thing. In this case I thought it might be beneficial because the author could offer the proper inflection to represent the points in the book he was making. Unfortunately, I wasn’t really a fan of his narration. It felt a little flat to me. I think this would work better with a different narrator, maybe one with more experience, that could really appropriately inflect the points throughout the book to make the audio more engaging.

Overall, I loved this book. I highly recommend this book for readers of all ages, as I believe the guidance in the book is appropriate for any age. I also recommend this book for readers who may not be fans of New Age-type books. This book goes beyond this type of book, engaging the reader and making the content completely relatable. When this book publishes, I will be picking up a hard copy, and I recommend you do same! I also highly recommend you check out the first book, The Untethered Soul,” as an excellent companion to this fantastic book.

This is a must-have resource to help one improve mental health, resiliency, and live a more full and happy life. It is full of great strategies, advice, and easy to implement ideas. This is one I'll return to again and again. Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the advanced copy of the book.

I have read all of Michael A. Singer's books, and like the others, he manages to always hit the nail on the head. He does it in a way that at first seems so simple, and then you realize it really isn't. It takes work and honesty on your part. If you are looking to get your natural energy flowing, stop some of those voices in your head and negative habits, pick up this book. I will be listening to this one again and getting the book when it is published.

I received the audio of this book from NetGalley for a honest review.

Living Untethered:Beyond the Human Predicament by Michael A Singer is of great help to anyone who has noticed that voice in their head and is tired of fighting with it and or listening to it. I have read both of Michael Singer's earlier books The Untethered Soul and the Surrender Experiment and found them both very helpful but I thought there's got to be an easier way. I have since come to realize, no there is not, you have to do the work that Michael talks about if you really want to be okay inside. Living Unethered follows along the same themes as the Untethered Soul but Michael Singer does such a wonderful job of keeping it simple, while at the same time giving you enough clarity that there is no confusion about what he is saying. I will be listening to this audio book many more times, I want it seep into my being. Thank you Michael!
