Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advanced electronic audio review copy of this great book. In this wonderful story, the characters use the scientific method to solve a problem of disappearing pets. The narration was lively and the story — full of life lessons. Can’t wait to share this book with my students.

If you're familiar with these picture books or read them to your children, you'll be happy to have the usual cast and crew return for this older kiddo version. I loved the vision, the mystery, and the science. The same themes of thinking outside the box, sticking with it, and using your mind to help others can be found here. It was cute, held the attention of my group of listeners, and had a heartwarming plot. And there are dogs!

The narrator was engaging and dynamic, which is essential in the children's book. I liked the tone and quality of their voice. No complaints!

This is a Children's book that I listen to on audiobook with my kids. I found the story to be cute, and I love that it has a lot of science mixed into the story. I love that the kids are using science to solve a mystery. I found the characters to be cute and fun to follow. My kids enjoyed this book a lot. The narrator of this book was really good and fun to listen to. I was kindly provided an e-audiobook of this book by the publisher (Amulet Books) or author (Andrea Beaty) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Ada and the Questioneers are on a mission to find the missing pets! This story and it's narration were lively and full of life lessons. My personal children found that there are many types of thinkers in this world and all have something to offer when working as a team. We also found there to be lessons in empathy. perseverance and hard work. Another great addition to this storytelling franchise! #adatwistandthedisapperaingdogs #netgalley

Well, this was adorable. I loved the spunky and brilliant heroine. She asked fabulous questions and seemed to really grapple with her problems. Love the supporting characters and the agency she showed in solving problems. Highly recommended.

I listened on audiobook with my six-year-old daughter, and she enjoyed it as well.

A fun middle grade book perfect for early readers! My 7 year old first grader enjoyed listening to this one in the car. I was familiar with the author's picture books, but enjoyed this longer foray. This book features a wonderful cast of characters that children may already be familiar with. Each character has their own unique interests and strengths so children will see themselves in this. The story will keep kids guessing. I listened to the audiobook which was masterfully narrated by Bahni Turpin. She has such a great voice, somehow both vibrant and soothing.

Thank you Dreamscape Audio and NetGalley for providing this audiobook ARC. All thoughts are my own.

I LOVE the imagineers picture books and this was my first step into the chapter books for older kids. I listened with a 7 year old who absolutely adored it. The narration is fantastic and we loved that all of the imagineers were present and worked together to solve the mystery using the scientific method. I especially loved that they didn’t get it right on the first try. :)

Such a cute story! Sweet little characters that are easy for kids to connect with. I love how science is used to solve a mystery and how words are explained so it’s easy for children to follow along. The story made science fun and not feel boring. My kids loved listening- the narrator did a wonderful job.

Thanks so much for this audio arc!

We are big Ada Twist fans in this house! We love the series & books (6 and 3 year olds). I really loved this story! Ada Twist and the Disappearing Dogs was cute and educational! The characters each bring something different to the story. Ada knows not to jump to conclusions when the dogs go missing. She uses the scientific method to solve the mystery. As a teacher I love that kids can see hands on how to use the method. It makes it so relatable and fun. Ada is adorable! Such a great series for kids!

My kindergartner didn’t quite have the attention span for the audio like I’d hoped. But one day she will and this book & series will be the first we reach for!

I received a digital copy of this audiobook from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Being the mom of two science loving elementary aged kids I knew I had to check this out.

This is a great stem related chapter book. Representation matters and there is a lot of representation happening. The circle of friends include girls and boys. One boy is dyslexic but loves to draw. All of their names and interests rhyme. Ada and her Aunt are ladies of color as is the narrator.

Ada goes through the scientific method thoroughly and puts it into practice in a way relatable to children. There are moments of humor. There are a lot of educational and interesting facts discussed. There is female empowerment. There is guidance about the wisdom of not jumping to conclusions or making assumptions without investigating thoroughly and what kind of negative situations can happen if one does share opinions with no basis in reality. It’s clearly explained that science is about facts and not feelings.

The audiobook comes in just under and hour and a half and acting was spectacular especially considering there were a lot of characters and animals involved. Sound quality was good.

5/5

This book is an excellent young child's reader about how to understand and use the scientific method. The story is cute- although I think the audio version misses out on the addition of illustrations. The narrator was better than most of those doing children's books.

The ending was a cute take on the thefts and the characters were likeable.

Ada twist and the disappearing dogs is a fun story about how using the scientific method can help you discover answers in the world around you. This book does a great job at teaching the scientific method, as well as using big words and defining them for the reader. I would recommend this book to kids and second or third grade learning about the scientific method. Kids to love dogs and/or dinosaurs would also love this book.
Ada twist knows all about the scientific method because of her aunt Bernice. Bernice is a true scientist and archaeologist. When she was Ada’s age, she discovered a dinosaur tooth in her backyard. Through the discovery of the dinosaur tooth, Bernice falls in love with science. Bernice is love of science is something she has to share with everyone around her, including her niece Ada.
When dogs start disappearing around the town, Ada and her friends are worried. Her friends start hanging up posters and making up stories about what the dog-napper might look like. Ada insist on using the scientific method to find out what is really going on.

I would like to thank NetGalley for the ARC of the audiobook for Ada Twist and the Disappearing Dogs.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the narrator read the story. She had a very easy going tonal quality when she was reading and utilized different character voices to represent the different characters which was awesome to hear.

What I loved about the story was Ada Twist and the Questioneers believed that there was a pet thief so they used the scientific method to help them solve the case of the missing pets. The questioneers would try something and if that didn’t work out they would try something else which is awesome to see trial and error in a story as children want to be correct the first time. I think the overall message that this story has is the idea that before jumping to conclusions it is important to find out the facts first which is a good message to utilize in your classroom.

As a first grade teacher my students love the questioneers because they love science. Hopefully by purchasing this audiobook or even the physical copy my students will be more actively engaged in reading.
