--- Thank you, NetGalley, for my copy ---

This was a decent book, an easy and simple read. It deals with contemporary issues of a woman trying to balance her career/ambition and dating life. It also talks about the process of modern dating. It is a relevant read.

However, the flaws outweigh the good. My biggest problem was the length of the book. I think I would have enjoyed this book better if it was half its current length. The scenes are episodes are generic and could have easily been shortened. Additionally, the narrative is flat. It is quite easy to predict the ending, so there is nothing gripping to keep the readers until the end. Indigo seems like a good character but lacks the depth which is needed for the protagonist. Alas, the book has nothing new to offer to I wouldn't recommend it.

4.5/5 stars rounded off to five

This was not what I expected. But also in the best kind of way. I fell in love with Indigo. She was a dream. The book discusses how she enters the dating game at the cusp of turning 30, and all her experiences during that stage of her life. There were so many good things about this book, but I think the best was how she handled everything with a sense of maturity that is quite rare. This was one of the most realistic fiction books I have read in a long time and I am so happy about it. There was not much exciting about it. It went at a pace that real life goes. That's where I think I'd also take away half the star because it didn't drive me to question 'what's next'. It just was.

Thank you Netgalley and Wattpad webtoon group for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I liked the book and I thought Indigo was a well developed character. The ending was more than a little predictable, and there didn't seem to be any romance. There are a TON of novels about turning thirty and being single out there and sadly this one fell into the fray. I was hoping it would do a little something different to stand out. Still enjoyed reading it as the dialogue was great and funny.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book was cute and an easy read. I liked Indigo’s character (especially the name, loved that!) and the writing style was good and enjoyable to read. I just couldn’t get really into this book. Some books; you start reading and you cannot put them down and you just want to finish then and there. I did not get that with this book. In fact, I kept leaving it aside and going back to it after a while.

It was a cute story with some interesting characters but it did not blow my mind.

The Many Dates of Indigo is my first book by Amber Samuel. Overall I enjoyed this book, but I wished we had gotten more back story on the main characters. I think that would have helped with their chemistry.

As Indigo gets closer to her 30th birthday, she feels a lot of pressure to find a serious boyfriend. It’s not like she doesn’t want that. She does. She wants to get married and start a family just like her sister did. However, she’s gone through a long list of guys who were just not right for her. (I mean, a con man?! Yeah, NO!) It got so bad, she just stopped trying for awhile to focus on her career.

So Indigo puts herself back in the dating world with Nathan and Diego, trying to figure out if one of them is The One. And she also has her BFFs, Tate, Hazel and Emery, as well as her siblings and parents to help her along the way.

This book had an interesting premise and overall it was a good story but it felt overstuffed. There was a lot of unnecessary detail that impacted the pacing of the story. It felt like I knew too much about certain characters and not enough about some of the main players.

Overall, I give it 3.5 stars

This was a good read but i did not get into it until about 40% along the way. The dialogue seems to jump from one conversation to the other abruptly.
The story line was interesting and quite relatable to be honest but i felt like there was a lot of scattered elements. The book did not flow for me, it was not seamless.

5 stars without a doubt. This book is so beautifully written, the characters are authentic. Indigos journey feels so real, there is no sugar coating or anything overly romantic. We get to know her better each chapter, and the author takes us on a journey to finally admitting fears and insecurities and open up to love. Honestly read this book if you get the chance. I wish I would have Tates POV one or two times throughout the book, but I can see thats its really hard to fit into the storyline.
All in all its such a beautiful story, great side characters and a very swoony MMC. Absolutely loved it!

I was rooting for Tate and Indigo straight out of the gate, I knew something happened between them that was serious I just did not think it would be what it was *gasp.* I loved reading about the dates and experiencing Nathan and Diego they were hot and fun for what they were supposed to be, pit stops to Indigo's forever love. I will definitely be reading this again and soon it's going in my top ten rotation. I am excited to read more from Amber Samuel, the anticipation is real.

Samuel brings the all too true reality, where one must choose their career over their maternal clock. In Samuels witty novel “The Many Dates of Indigo,” Indigo sets to fulfill at least one of those requirements. Someone good enough for her “FIRST”
Let us begin:
Indigo Singleton will soon be approaching her 30th birthday in just a few weeks. She is a self-made woman with a thriving shoe store, she is smart, and she has got the best trio of friends since she was little (Tate, Hazel, and Emery). What more could a girl ask for! Right? Well!!!
As Indigo is watching her sister, at her sister’s baby shower (whew! Baby number 3) she begins to tune everyone out and marvel at her sister. Seeing her so happy and beautiful. When all of sudden, her cousin Tracy’s voice snaps Indigo back to reality.
“I see she still has no ring” in response to that comes Indigo’s Aunt Maureen. “Girl! Indigo loves being single, why would she want to be tied down, having babies now?” Tracy “Hmm”
All Indigo can think at that moment is, how wrong they both are. They have good intentions; she loves her family dearly. But it is not that she does not want to be, married, or have kids. It is the fact that she has not found the “RIGHT” person good enough.
Indigo cannot help if the men from her past have been, “WELL!” let us just say, not anyone you would take to meet your parents.
So, she had buried herself in her work and time just passed her by. So now Indigo was on a new mission, and she knew exactly who to enlist to help her.
Indigo grabs her trio of BFF’s, Tate, Hazel, and Emery with a little side help from her parents. She and her crew were going to find her Mr. Right.
Indigo ends up meeting Mr. Mechanic, incredibly gorgeous and sexy, Nathan. But when she comes literally face to face. He is not anything like what she thought he would be. He is a dullard. “HMM”
Then there is Diego. Mr. hot shot himself, Attorney at Law. Who thinks she is his literal sparring mate/contender! Hold up! She needs a partner for life, not a contender in the ring for life.
Indigo vents to Tate about this kerfuffle, and about how this makes her feel, all the while he like a great friend continues to listen.
But is Indigo actually listening? Sometimes the best laid plans are already set out right before you. All you have to do is open your eyes.
Samuel has done an excellent job of telling a days old tale in a refreshing way. Had Indigo been a man, no one would have cared had he had a ring yet or not.
I did feel that Samuel could have given us more history about Tate.
Word building was great, prose was fluid
Overall writing was well done.
Will definitely be reading more of what Samuels puts out in the future.
Congratulations~

Standing on the sidelines of her sister's third baby shower, Indigo hears the whispers all around her.
"Still no ring," her cousin Tracy says. "Indigo just loves the single life," her Aunt Maureen whispers. It doesn't matter that she's actually got it all: a thriving business and a terrific group of friends, and a loving (sometimes-a-pain) family.
Indigo prides herself in helping her clients find the perfect shoe, but she's having a hard time finding a partner that is her perfect fit. With her thirtieth birthday around the corner, the pressure is on to find "the one". Tired of being the only singleton in her group, Indigo decides to schedule her social calendar as busy as her shoe store, with many many dates.
There's Nathan, the sexy mechanic: perfect on paper, but when face-to-face, falls flat.
There's Diego, a hotshot lawyer who keeps Indigo on her toes. But she doesn't want a sparring partner, she wants a partner for life.
Finally, there's Tate. Her best friend. The one who's always been there for her. The one who's there for her right now. Can Indigo finally admit to herself that Mr. Right has been in front of her the whole time?
Really enjoyable read totally recommend

DNF. I couldn’t get through chapter 4 of this book. I really wanted to like this title as the summary sounded interesting but I just couldn’t get into it, and, at many points in the first few chapters alone this book was just hard to read. Not only did the file format make this book a bit hard to read on kindle, but this book fell into many tropes that make romance a genre that gets made fun of and that many authors now try and avoid. First, the main characters have weirdly unique names for no apparent reason. While unique names are no problem it’s simply unnecessary as a reader when a character named Saxon is presented and it reads as a tool used by the author to make a character noticeable. Second, these chapters seemed to skip around to the point where one chapter would end and another would start and I’d feel like I missed information. It was very strange. Third, Indigo is the owner of a small local shoe store. This is another place where this book fell into typical tropes of characters having jobs that are very hard to make profitable yet somehow the characters have very nice lifestyles. It simply felt a little hard to believe when there was little explanation as to how this shoe store has become profitable. Fourth, the relationship with Tate was presented in a strange way with little explanation for what sort of relationship these characters have. The reader is just thrown into their rapport and it felt so forced. Fifth, so many random details were over explained. Certain details are necessary but the details that were given in this book made the narrative and dialogue feel artificial.
I don’t like to do negative reviews but I just couldn’t get into this book at all.

I found The Many Dates of Indigo had a sweet and feel-good story. The plot was simple but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The narrative voice of the novel was engaging and funny and I enjoyed how many readers would find the story relatable due to the pressures society puts on single women. I know personally, that I have been badgered about my relationship status and to find a book that is able to represent this makes me feel that I am not so much alone. I enjoyed the love interests (particularly the one Indigo ends up with) and found the journey to their relationship well-paced and natural. The friendship between Tate and Indigo was realistic, not forced and the way that they interacted showed that they genuinely cared for each other's friendship which I found enjoyable. Overall the characters, plot and mood of the book were thoroughly enjoyable and I would recommend this novel to a customer seeking an easy, cute romance.

The version I download had only one chapter and was not formatted. Review based on content for the first chapter. The writing felt forced, with some convoluted words and non-words like "saccharinely", but the dialogues were good. The plot is not clear after only a few pages, but it's not very intriguing so far.
