I enjoyed this one but nowhere near as much as the first one. It felt like second book syndrome, in that it kept me gripped but it was just missing something? It all felt like filler content before another book!

This book.

It’s gave me the feels. I just haven’t quite figured out what the feels are yet. But ultimately: I loved it.

I’m still weaving through the intricacies of the plot but I can definitively say that Scarlett is officially the Queen of Morally Grey. I don’t know my left from my right or my up from my down anymore so my review is going to be extremely drabbly. The gist of it is that this books picks up a week or so after the end of KBB and then stuff happens.

My first thought while reading QMM was that Adrian could stand to worship Isolde a little more. I Mean the guy spent 200 years grieving for her death and conquering the continent to avenge her death and what not and I just felt like he needs to be a little more obsessed with her LOL

I basically exist(ed) for Sorin and Isolde bonding.

“I have loved you across lifetimes’’. [insert swoon]

Ngl by half way through, Isolde’s constant references to her sacrifice started reminding me of when a guy buys you coffee and then acts as if you’re obligated to date him or something because of it. But then again I may just be projecting 😂 and by the end it no longer bothered me at all. Because this bitch has been put through the ringer. Poor baby.

“A woman who wants to sleep with my husband does not make her an enemy, Safira. It makes her annoying.” [she a bad bitch.]

In conclusion.

Sorin broke and is still breaking my heart

Nicolae is a little bitch.

And Adrian gots issues.

I’m suspicious of everyone.

The end.

Our King and Queen are back! We see the growth of these characters and the undeniable love and admiration they have for each other. Questions were answered and even given more. Isolde has such fierceness that you cannot contain. Adrian becomes the person that she needs in her life and so much more. The world continues to be enriched with history and development. We are here for the bickering and seeing who’s going to break first and spice oh the spice. I cried. I laughed. I wanted to throw the damn kindle across the room. You’re whole heart is going to get involved in this book and then promises of it getting repaired. Be ready for this next installment of this series because you are going to get blown away. Who’s ready to come back to this world??

I was expecting a lot more for this sophomore attempt in this series. Although this second book is good, it is not nearly as good as the first one. At times when reading it, I felt that St. Clair could have left some parts out. That she may have added some parts as filler. I did actually skip some parts that I thought were way too detailed. Maybe I expected too much because the first book was so good. Ijust was expected so much more than what I got.

It was great to be back in this world! Scarlett St. Clair is an amazing writer! From start to finish I was hooked! I couldn't turn the pages fast enough and never put it down! So eleven hours later I was done with it and I can't wait for the next book!

While I don't think this had the same urgency as the first novel, I enjoyed seeing the characters change as they gained knowledge and power. Would definitely recommend if you enjoyed the first book.

It was so nice to be back with Adrian and Isolde, and watching them navigate being husband and wife and also being king and queen.

There are twists and turns, and they both change along the journey in ways you’d not expect. There is of course plenty of spice sprinkled in, so don’t worry 😉

QMM was the perfect continuation of Adrian and Isolde’s story, and I cannot wait for you to read it!

What a frustrating read! This book suffers from middle book syndrome and feels entirely too long for what little plot development we got.
Are there a couple exciting twists/reveals? Yes.
Are there some eyeroll worthy twists/reveals? Also yes.
Are there many scenes that have the potential for strong plot development but then the characters randomly decide to drop the issue at hand and have sex instead? Also also yes.

This book took me forever to finish because every time I put it down I aggressively did not want to pick it back up again. It just felt like a waste of time and I struggled to care at all. A very drastic turn from the first book, which I ate up at record speed.

I'm disappointed, but will probably still try out the third book anyway. The only reason this is two stars instead of one are the small bits of plot we did actually get that will hopefully lead to something entertaining/rewarding in book three. Don't let us down, SSC.

Thanks to Bloom Books for an ARC in exchange for review.

it took a while for me to review the title because i did not realize when i requested it that the book was a sequel. i read a king of myth and monsters first and i really enjoyed that book (way more than i thought i would) so i was eager to begin this one. while interesting, this book felt like a filler episode in the middle of an intense tv series in that it gave some back story to surrounding characters but, ultimately, did not fully move the needle of the overarching plot. i was disappointed in that.

it also introduced adrian's POV, which would have been a great vehicle to better weave the past and present narrative since he had lived through both timelines.

I know now this will be the trilogy and while i am still interested in seeing the resolution, i am not nearly as interested as i was.

It took me a while to write this review because I needed to gather my thoughts. I love Scarlett - she’s an auto buy and I will read everything she writes but this wasn’t one of my favourite books.

I think the problem with this is the editing. The book needed a firm editor to rein in some of the ideas that Scarlett had - a lot happens in this book. I dare say too much, which made it hard for me to see the overarching arc of the story. If you are a slave to plot - you will love this as you are hit left right center with all manner of things that will leave you gasping. As you would expect from any SSC book, there are lots of spicy scenes but they all felt very samey (I guess they are a married couple) and for the first time, I actually wanted to skip past it to get back to the plot lol. The end is also insane - it left me questioning everything.

As you can see I had a lot of mixed feelings. I love Adrian and Isolde and I’m very invested in their story. I truly can’t wait for the next book to see how we move on from this.

“Isolde,” he repeated quietly, and when I finally met his gaze, his stare was gentle. “You are my light.” I took his face between my hands. “You are my darkness,” I said and kissed him.

Wow. Just wow. So much happened in this book but also the amount of work and research that went into is just astounding. I am in awe of Scarlett. The way she told all these different characters stories, the way she weaves them all together is just mind blowing. The amount of times I gasped out loud in shock was ridiculous. I didn’t see several things coming that happened, I was not prepared for the emotions I was feeling. Adrian and Isolde went through so much stuff in this book, I just wanted to hug both of them and knock their heads together sometimes…with love, with all the love 😂 the spice was on point as always duh it’s Scarlett. The plot was amazing with all the twists, turns, and cliffys. Can we talk about that ending? Like umm ma’am I kept swiping on my kindle like no no there has to be more, there has to be!! Alas there was not and even though this book just came out I am already DYING for book 3. I started this book and finished in one night I couldn’t put it down!!

It was so wonderful to be back in the exciting world of Isolde and Adrian again. This book takes off like a shot and doesn't ever stop the excitement the whole way through. My only regret is that it had to end, and on a cliffhanger of course. The romance between Isolde and Adrian is sizzling hot, much of the time it stems from their intense anger and misunderstanding with one another, but it always unfolds into a beautiful, heart wrenching love and acceptance of the way their futures are entwined. I can't wait for the next book in this series. So so so good!

Isolde continues to be one of my favorite female characters. Isolde is unapologetic, brave, strong, sexual, and is continually working through the emotional repercussions of more than one lifetime. In other words, she’s a queen. Queen of Myth and Monsters will give you more of Isolde and Adrian, more monsters, and more twists than I ever would have imagined.

This book also gave us Adrian’s POV which I am so here for. Dual POV will always be my favorite way to read a story. It allows us to see so much more than with a single POV, and to really get a lot from the story that even Isolde only knows so much about.

I cannot wait to continue this series and find out where we’re headed. At this point it feels like we could end up anywhere!

I received an ARC of Queen of Myth and Monsters as a part of Scarlett’s Street Team, which I am forever grateful for. Especially since it gave me the chance to read this a little early! Isolde and Adrian continue to be my favorite unapologetic King and Queen, and I can’t wait to get more of them!

I really liked the first book in this series and was super eager to read the second one. I enjoyed being back in this world and with these characters. The story flowed well and I was intrigued to see where it was going to go! ⁣

Whilst I enjoyed this one I didn't love it as much as the first in the series. I would have liked to have seen more from Adrian's POV, especially because of what is happening throughout this book. ⁣

Overall this was an good read with a lot of spice. I'm interested to see what happens in the next one! ⁣

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was another tale in the world of Adrian and Isolde and wow did a lot happen in this book and I'm talking about actual plot points and not smutty scenes! Isolde is slowly starting to get more of her memories back when a new threat appears, and with their still being a traitor in the inner circle Adrian and Isolde's relationship gets tested more than ever. Also that last book ended on a massive cliffhanger so I shouldn't have been surprised when this one ended abruptly but I was! Looking forward to the next one in the series,

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review.

Absolutely amazing sequel. This is truly a morally gray cast of characters and refreshing to read. The twists and reveals were somewhat predictable but still exciting when they happened. Scarlett’s writing style is so captivating and engaging, I always lose track of time when reading her books.

The overall plot moves very quickly, but I think this one lives up to book 1. I wish the scenes with the main pairing were a bit longer though.

As someone who rather enjoyed King of Battle and Blood, I wish I liked Queen of Myth and Monsters more. I feel like St. Clair gave us at least sometime to acquaint ourselves with the world, characters and plot, before diving into the sex in that book. However, since we are already familiar with the characters, the author spends no time reacquainting us with them or the story, before diving into more raunchy sex.

I like the spice! It's why I read the first book, but this sequel was more sex than substance, and I couldn't bring myself to read past the halfway point. Disappointing, but not totally unforeseen, as St. Clair toed the edge of this in her first novel.

I really enjoy the world of Queen of Myth and Monsters and I'm sad to have seen so little of it. I hope St. Clair finds a better balance to her romantic fantasy novels in the future.

QMM was a wonderful continuation of KBB! Everyone in this book goes through it hahah. But can I just say how much I love Isolde. She constantly proves over and over how strong and resilient she is, but I feel like we experienced more of her vulnerability in QMM and I loved that. I also loved how we got to know more about some of our secondary characters and the kingdoms within Cordova as well. And let me tell you… pain. Everyone’s struggling haha. But I loved every minute. There’s so much that happens in this book that I’m still thinking about it all post read. But my main takeaways. Everyone’s hot and going through the ringer haha. It felt like such a natural progression to the story though because of the way KBB ended off. But just note that this book is very emotionally heavy. QMM includes so much from pending war, conflict between species and kingdoms, great spice and betrayal. There’s so much I want to say but I don’t do spoiler reviews so all I can say is, it’s a true Scarlett St. Clair book, if you enjoyed KBB, the world of Revekka and our gorgeous cast of characters then you’ll love QMM!

Thank you Netgalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review!

After speeding through the first book, I was excited to dive into Queen of Myth and Monsters. I love that the book picked up where King of Battle and Blood ended but that's pretty much all that I enjoyed. I struggled tremendously with this book. I was interested to see the relationship between Adrian and Isolde evolve but I found myself pulling away from the characters. While reading I was constantly frustrated by their decisions and I was not invested in the direction of the story. I wish that I loved this book, but it just wasn't for me.
