Netgalley ARC Read

This is one of my most anticipated books of 2022.

This book has a lot of twists and turns and heartbreaking betrayals. Adrian and Isolde are constantly being betrayed and are not always on the same page. I hated how much they fought. Isolde is amazing and she never lets Adrian walk all over her. She demands respect.

I was confused from time to time when there would be a sudden flash back and was confused if something was happening or was just a memory.

This book is just as spicy as book 1 and Adrian and Isolde have tons of chemistry and sex.

There are two heartbreaking betrayals that I’m not sure I can get over and a third that wasn’t very shocking.

This was a worthy sequel to King of Battle and Blood. You see more complexity in Adrian's and Isolde's relationship-- as well as internal and external conflicts. There is betrayal abound in this story, and a lot of political navigating. Of course, their romance and love story is still present, but it takes a backseat in the midst of everything going on. Definitely not a filler sequel, this moves the story forward, enriches the relationships, and takes the stakes even higher.

While this series has been kind of predictable, I've loved every second of it. This was a perfect sequel to a book I adored at the beginning of the year (I even think King of Battle and Blood was my first read of 2022?) I love the way Adrian is written, he makes mistakes, he's not perfect, but he communicates well and you never feel put off by him. This book had more character development and I loved getting to know everyone a little better. This book has great representation and is just overall something that I enjoyed reading. I am thinking we will have another one in the series and I absolutely cannot wait.

Thank you #Netgalley for an early read of #QueenofMythandMonsters
