I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

This was delightful! Oh my gosh! This had everything I didn't know I needed! Fake dating, forced proximity, and slow burn but so intense you enjoyed it more than expected!

A fake dating celebrity romance from one of my favorite authors? Yes please! I couldn't get enough of this dual POV, Hollywood romance from indie romance queen Susannah Nix. Perfect for fans of authors like Tessa Bailey and Christina Lauren. I only wish this was available on audio! Many thanks to NetGalley and the author for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

A little late with this review. I got the arc from netgalley last year but only managed to read the first chapter or two before I got side tracked by something else. Fast forward to a few days ago I binged the whole book from start to finish in 1 day. Avoiding everything I was supposed to be doing that day like studying for my finals coming up.

I could not put it down. if you like:

I loved this book! I have read Susannah Nix's books in the past and am never disappointed. I will say I am sad I didn't read the previous books in this series and felt like that would have only made this book ever better if I had. I will defiantly be going back and reading the rest of this. The chemistry in this book was so natural and beautiful. I couldn't help but rooting for Boone and Eve!

An enjoyable, refreshing a light read, I recommend this for anyone looking for an easy to read book that will keep you wanting more from the get go. The characters were excellent and I loved the way the story flowed. 5 Stars,

I am a sucker for celebrity romance. BUT I'm also extremely picky when it comes to this theme. I'm happy to say, this was great! It was my first book by this author but definitely not my last..

I knew I was going to love the book because the premise sounded promising. This was a binge read and a must addition to your beach reads.

Eve was a strong character with principles while Boone, though not over bearing was broody at best. I enjoyed the chemistry they shared, the character development was good and the plot engaging.
I wish there was some open door romance rather than the slow burn as it would have made the book perfect.
The X-files inspo was clever and made me nostalgic about some of my celebrity crushes. My only beef was that some of the situations were a bit too convenient, making them look far fetched. But then, who doesn't want to date their celebrity crush? Tom Cruise, are you listening?! 👀👂
Pick it up as your next beach read and day dream of dating your celebrity crush! Never say never. 😉

I love fake dating tropes, and I also am a fan of a celebrity/"normie" romances, so that was a huge boost for me.

while I loved this, I felt the characters were a little off. Boone was a bit of a red flag for me, and I felt Eve was a little annoying at times.

Susannah Nix books always make me happy, so I was glad to get an ARC of her latest!

This is a book for anyone who has fantasized about being in a relationship with their favorite celebrity, who likes them despite some embarrassing fanfics and websites. The MMC is an actor on an X-Files-like TV show, and the FMC is a barista. They both have some baggage and maybe the guy needs some therapy, but overall, the stakes are not too high and the author doesn't go the route of having the heroine humiliated by her fandom or the crappy people in her life (I was worried I would get some secondhand mortification, but it was all good!). There are some crossovers with the other Star series books, especially the only other one I haven't read... Got to get to that now.

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to review a temporary digital ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.

*fans self* this book was hot! Boone Sheridan is the perfect male lead, he's flawed yes but underneath his harsh exterior is a marshmallow of a man who just wants to protect the ones he loves but is scared to open up. Eve is a strong female character working two jobs to keep herself afloat. I loved how she put Boone's feelings first in everything even when she didn't know him that well. I wasn't expecting the level of spice but it was very welcome! I really enjoyed the look into the life of an actor, I honestly didn't know that fake relationships were so common - it sounds exhausting!

Favourite quote - "I was just wandering until I found you...You're my home. Wherever you are is where I want to be"

I've heard a lot about this author but after reading two books by her, including this one, I just think her writing style and I don't vibe. I need a relationship with a little more angst in it and these were just lighter. I think someone looking for a book like that would enjoy it!

Zero stars.

This was so bad and so cringey.

Eve was a total wet noodle, zero dimensional, useless no personality character.

Boone was a walking red flag. He was absolute garbage and a person I would keep anyone I loved or even like away from. He’s a total manipulator and terrible guy.

Ugh no!

This book surprised me. I was expecting a light, cheesy Hollywood fake romance, but the writing was much better than that, with just the right amount of depth, sexual tension and humor,

Thank you for the arc!

So, so, so much fun. If candy and sunshine could be captured into a book, it’s this one. I’m a sucker for celebrity romances (oops), and this one was no exception. I wish I could forget this book just to experience it for the first time. Highly recommend!

Lucky Star was the first books Susannah Nix that I've read and it definitely lived up to the hype surrounding her. She has really good characters and a well developed plot that held my interest throughout. I look forward to reading more from her in the future.

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review!

I loved this book. I've always been a fan of celebrity romance books and this one did not disappoint. I've read other books in this series also and I like getting to learn more about characters from previous books too.
The romance between Evie and Boone was great, he definitely deserved her after his ex in the book. I really loved how Evie handled her roommate in the beginning and what happened there (I can't say more without spoiling that part).

I quite liked this book. I found it well written, enjoyable, and fun. It was a quick and wonderful read. The writing flowed well and the dialogue was overall very believable (which I find not to be the case in many romances). I like that instead of the woman being gaslighted, the man’s previous and troublesome relationship was the main focus. Men can be taken advantage of and manipulated too, and it was very refreshing to see it handled well and brought to the forefront. I can’t wait to read the author’s other books in this series!

This book is for every person that ever daydreamed about meeting their celebrity crush.

Boone Sheridan is a celebrity with a public relations problem. He needs to clean up his image and create a distraction ASAP. Enter Eve Tracey, a part-time barista and pre-school teacher. What better way to prove to the public that Boone is changing his ways than to introduce her as his ordinary and down-to-earth girlfriend. Pretending to be in love with Boone is an easy task for Eve, a recovering Boone Sheridan superfan. But Eve has read enough fake-dating fanfics to know that things almost never end well.

This is one of the best fake dating/celebrity romances that I have read. Boone and Eve share so much chemistry, and Eve is such a relatable heroine. She’s hard working and genuine and it’s delightful to read about her transformation throughout the book. The romance was a slow burn one, but it made sense within the context of their relationship.

Within the first little bit of the book, I was fully invested in the couple’s relationship. I loved that it was told from both Eve and Boone’s perspectives, as it gave us a full look at things and we weren’t left guessing what either was feeling towards the other.

You can read this as a standalone, but a little of the supporting characters’ backstories will be missed. I will definitely be going back and reading Nix’s backlist now that I have read this one.

Thank you to NetGalley, Susannah Nix, and Haver Street Press for the e-arc of Lucky Star in exchange for an honest review.

This was a great celebrity romance and I am going to back and read the previous books. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Boone and Eve. You could definitely relate to Eve which I really loved about it. I cant wait to read more from Susannah Nix.
