Couldn't get into this one. The premises of the stories intrigued me, but the writing seemed a bit too... I suppose amateurish? It all just felt a little too "high-school edgelord" for my tastes.

A dark collection of macabre tales. Pretty much what I expect from Aiden Merchant. Would recommend to anyone that loves horror short collections.

Creepy, captivating, spooky, and dark... and very enjoyable! Just don't try to read this in the dark or you will never get to sleep. All the stories are good, but there are few standouts for me: "A Second Chance" and "Swallowed" were my favorites, and "The Friday Night Gang" was particularly good. Highly recommended for dark fiction fans.

Friends on a camping trip should not go toward a strange sound. A man brings home a unique discovery but is it deadly? A carnival in a field known for strange happenings. And other tales to chill your soul. I received a complementary copy and left a voluntary review.

Horrifying yet beautifully crafted, this is a collection worth making space for. A truly creative and macabre book, I are it up like a lollipop made from blood.

A dark and delightful mix of stories to keep you entertained. There is something for everyone in this collection which ranges from human monsters to actual monsters and more.
“Birthing of Black” was a favourite! As an avid back country camper, I know the feeling of hearing a noise in the night, something’s eyes on you in the dark… do you investigate or retreat to the false safety of a flimsy tent?It was a gripping tale from beginning to end.

Thank you to the author and team for putting together this fantastic melting pot of short horror stories.
Thank you to the publisher, Crossroad Press, and net galley for providing me a copy to read & review.

This collection hits a number of topics, and quite honestly, none are very happy. A lot of darkness and dread are within these pages.
Merchant isn't afraid to test the boundaries at times.
A few stories seemed like there was so much more to be told, and leaves you wanting more.
