Unfortunately, I don't believe Rachel Lynn Solomon is the author for me.

While I've never truly loved a book of hers, I saw this premise and thought this might be the one I do. I love timeloops, and especially books that utilise physics for them rather than the mystical, but this book didn't hit. The execution of the plot was tolerable at best and there was nothing about the main character that drew me in - the side character and love interest held so much more depth.

It wasn't a terrible book by any means, but I did have to force myself to finish.

This time-travel romance was executed brilliantly. The Groundhog Day recurrence observed in a time-loop scenario might quickly become tedious, but Rachel maintained it to a minimal minimum. Each day's repetition was unique, inventive, and at times humorous. I felt the characters to be completely sympathetic and was completely engaged in a happy ending for Barrett and Miles. Adorable amusement!

Such a fantastic book that I was not expecting at all from reading the synopsis.

I expected this book to be a classic Groundhog Day with humour as an easy read but it was all that and much more depth.

Reading through I couldn’t tell what was going to really happen or the point sometimes but it did feel like I was being a part of the same cycle loop and feeling all their emotions (and wanting to rip my hair out). The point doesn’t seem to be how to get out, more about the journey and becoming who they truely are.

I loved the realistic and home hitting themes that went along with this storyline and felt myself connecting to the characters especially in the second half.

Appreciated seeing the diversity in body types of these characters, the different sides to each experiences and how so much can change by different actions.

Would 100% read again and recommend.

I love Groundhog Day, Happy Death Day, and basically anything involving getting stuck in a time loop. So naturally, I knew I’d love this one! A groundhog-day themed YA romance? Yes please!

Barrett Bloom had a messy high school experience. She was hoping for a chance to restart her life in college. Unfortunately, her first day of college was a disaster, which started with an encounter with an old nemesis and ended with accidentally setting a frat on fire. Her wish for a restart came true, however, when she woke up the next day finding that it was actually the morning of the previous day, again.

I loved Barrett as a character. She was determined, passionate, and she had an awesome family. Her relationship with her mother melted my heart! Barrett went through a lot in this book, and I felt her frustrations.

The storyline and pacing of this book were perfect. It kept coming up with surprises at each turn, and I had no idea where the story would end. It was sci-fi, action, thriller and romance, combined into one. I loved the amazing character growths portrayed in this book.

All in all, a great book that I wouldn’t mind re-reading again at some point in the future!

4 TOUCHING STARS

Such a cute romance!! I enjoyed every moment of reading this book and flew through it in under a day – I just couldn’t put it down. From the funny and realistic characters, to the vaguely slow and absolutely adorable romance, this book had everything I needed from a YA romcom.

“This guy must have also gone to Lucie Lamont’s School of the Outrageously Uptight and majored in Taking Everything Personally. I can’t think of any other explanation for why he’s so combative at 8:47 in the morning. In this economy? Who had the energy?”
(This quote may not be in the published version of this novel, it was copied from the advanced reader’s copy.)

The characters were all just such sweethearts, and everyone from the MC to her mum to the love interest’s brother were incredibly well developed. I was invested in the relationship between the two mains in about half a chapter flat, and I absolutely loved the fat rep and – of course – the biracial rep. Nothing hits harder than being able to truly relate to a character while reading!

“I’m not half Japanese, half Jewish. I’m both– Japanese and Jewish.”
(This quote may not be in the published version of this novel, it was copied from the advanced reader’s copy.)

The humour also made this book really fun, plus the unique Groundhog Day storyline – and I loved the clear nods to the original Groundhog Day throughout the book. Both characters had their issues, and not everything was light and fluffy, but the progression of both their relationship and their individual character development was so well done and so much fun to read.

So glad I read this, highly recommended!! Super cute and a wonderful light and easy read, while still tackling some serious issues. Thank you so much to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the free copy provided in exchange for an honest review :).

I would never have picked up See You Yesterday if I knew it was going to be Groundhog Day. It has got to be one of my least favourite tropes; the repetitiveness and the neverending monotony drive me crazy. And if I had been pre-warned and avoided this book, I would have missed out on what could be my favourite book this month. See You Yesterday has everything you could want in a romantic romp through timelines.

I love that our protagonists are unlike the usual romantic leads. Miles is Asian and Jewish with ears that stick out. He’s nerdy and rude and a bit antisocial. Stuck in a rut, Miles emotes poorly and has the perfect memory to remember all of your faults. Barrett is curvy and outspoken. She’s Jewish and awkward and turns everything into a joke, especially when you don’t want her to. They are the worst two people to be stuck together in a time loop. And it is absolute perfection.

I love the evolution here. Both characters grow individually into better people, taking this great slow-burn relationship and turning it into something that feels inevitable. I love that the story doesn’t follow one straight path from trope to trope, but zig-zags and pinballs, sure to hit them all, just not in the way you expect. You might predict it, but you’ll never see it coming.

And while it is Groundhog Day, it isn’t rub it in your face with the same thing every chapter Groundhog Day. It’s subtle but in your face, present but not overpowering. There isn’t a single thing I would change about See You Yesterday, and that’s a sentence I never thought I’d write about a Groundhog Day trope, so you know this is a good one.

Oooo I really liked this. Sweet and funny, I liked the completely bonkers nature of the time loop being combined with a very normal college day. It kept me guessing and kept me coming back and didn’t use the typical “let’s get mad and have a big misunderstanding” thing at 85% like so many romances do (that annoys me). Big thanks to NetGalley for the digital advance copy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“I could wake up on the same day a thousand times and every single one would be different because of you. Every single one would be life-changing. Because of you.”

See You Yesterday is a time-travelling, Groundhog Day-style, slow-burn enemies-to-friends-to-lovers college romance. After just surviving high school, Barrett Bloom is hoping her first day of college will be a fresh start. But in one day she discovers she's rooming with her ex-best friend, fails her newspaper internship interview... and sets fire to a frat house. Then she wakes up on the same day and realises she's trapped in a time loop, alongside Miles from her physics class. The book follows their journey as they try it all: travelling, good deeds, tattoos... and falling in love.

See You Yesterday takes you on an adventure-packed journey and I really enjoyed it. You really never knew what the next day would bring (and I won't say because spoilers). Barrett was a relatable and likeable plus-size protagonist who had amazing growth. She was self-conscious and still reeling from a traumatic high school experience, but throughout the book, she reconnects with Lucy, her ex-best friend, opens up to Miles and finds that joy she was missing.

Miles was a very relatable hero who honestly reminded me of myself. He was the awkward, shy and self-conscious nerd who wanted to double major in physics and film and enjoyed period dramas. “I know that I’m awkward around people... and I think it might be because I’ve been on my own for so long that I’m not used to thinking about anyone else.” Hi hello, it's me. His openness and vulnerability, together with his love for Barrett made me swoon. Case in point: "You are a thousand times better than anything I expected." That first kiss was something else!

Add in Jewish rep, an adorable mum, funny banter and a great audiobook narrator and you have yourself this book. Enjoy the ride!

Groundhog Day set in a university, where not one, but two characters get to live the same day over and over again, trying to figure out what it is they have to do, to get back to a normal life. Barret and Miles spend this one day getting to know each other, doing things they would never normally do if there were consequences, trying to find out how to fix what’s happening along the way. Both characters also have to deal with something that has happened to them before, something that neither are ready to talk about. This is fun, imagining what it would be like to be able to live a day over, and make different choices… although the characters living through the story find it more of a nightmare. There are even references to Groundhog day in the book…a movie which Miles has never seen!
Thank you to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Australia for the opportunity to review this title.

Thank you for the arc!

See You Yesterday is fun, romantic, and all around a good time. The characters were not only diverse, but realistic and lovable. The premise, while seemingly silly, is equally heartwarming and emotional. Their gradual friendship into attraction was well done.

Thanks so much to Simon & Schuster Australia, Netgalley and the author for an ARC of this book. If I had known how good it was I wouldn't have waited just before release day to read it!

This unusual story about two college students who get stuck in a time loop and repeat their first day (in Barrett's case a disastrous one) and try and figure out how to fix it together.

Barrett Bloom (love the name) is ready to shake off high school make the most of college. She wants to make friends, join the college paper and forget all about prom and its aftermath. Miles is an incredibly bright physics student with hidden depths. It seems like he and Barrett don't hit it off at first, but Miles has a lot to tell Barrett - he's been stuck in the time loop for longer than her.

This is such and entertaining read. I loved the dialogue, the characters interaction with each other and the way Barrett and Miles' romance develops out of respect and exposing their own vulnerabilities.

If you are looking a for an off-beat, funny and swoony read this is the book for you.

Thank you NetGalley and Simon & Schuster (Australia) for a copy of this ARC. All thoughts are my own.

Barret Bloom is hoping college is the fresh start she has been needing since an article turned her high school against her. When she finds herself stuck in a time loop reliving her first day of college, it's not feeling like she hoped.

This is a fun YA novel in the vein of Palm Springs, Groundhog day, and a plethora of other time loop tales. It has the fun of having our protagonist trapped in a loop with a person from her Introduction to Physics class. The novel explores romance, family relationships, guilt, and overcoming trauma.

I enjoyed this story and would recommend it.

Quirky, sweet , fun just an all round loveable story that forever made me smile! I love the diverse representation in this book and the entertaining banter between the two main characters. I found it enjoyable that they formed a friendship before it evolved into something more and you just couldn't help but love these two!

It was a bit slow-paced but if you're up for a longer read this is a must-have! I liked the diverse representation with the main characters. It isn't a normal rom-com but has a bit of a sci-fi element to it.

I requested this book simply based on the Groundhog Day plot, and I wasn’t disappointed. A clever time loop story, I enjoyed living the same day over and over with our MCs. Their bonding and eventual attraction to each other was a fun ride, and thankfully the physics invoked in working out how to get back to normal weren’t too brain-bending. A cute YA with a twist, it was a good read.

It's Barrett Bloom's first day at college and things couldn't be going any worse. Her high school nemesis is her roommate, she was called on by her Physics professor first thing and hadn't done any of the assigned reading, and to top it all off, she set fire to a frat house at a party she wasn't even invited to.

Barrett can't wait for the day to be over, but when she wakes up in the morning, it's Tuesday all over again. And Tuesday just keeps getting worse. Can Barrett get out of the time loop and make it to Wednesday, or is she stuck on Tuesday, September 21st for the rest of her life? Maybe the know-it-all from her physics class might be able to help.

This is really more of a 4.25. See You Yesterday is a charming and heart-warming NA novel about Barrett Bloom starting college and inexplicably finding herself waking up on the same day. Again. And again and again and again. She finds that the annoying guy from her physics class is also repeating the same day and they decide to work together to somehow find their way out of their loop.

See You Yesterday was wonderfully written and hit so close to home. Both of the characters are relatable in their isolation and loneliness and their growth throughout the book is hopeful and delightful.

There were a couple of really minor frustrations for me such as the constant repetition of Miles' surname, but these were small things that I could overlook pretty easily.

Overall, I loved this book and would definitely recommend it!

oh my god its 3am and i am going insane

this book was such a different and unique read and i absolutely loved it. the plot, the characters and the way it was written was all so great!!!

it was a bit slow at the beginning but around 30% in i was HOOKED and could not put it down! both Miles and Barrett have my heart, theyre so precious and all i want to do is give them a big hug! i loved the way the author wrote about each characters stories, thoughts, fears and the way we see them grow/develop throughout the book. this book was not what i was expecting but in the best way possible!

Not what I expected when I picked up this book. And that is definitely because I did not read the synopsis …. It was a fun romance that interwove time travel. The repeating days and spectacular, and sometimes mischievous events that Barrett and Miles took part in did event it get exhausting. Nonetheless it kept me intrigued enough to work with the pair to see what needed to be done to end this loop.

Thanks to netgalley for the eARC!

This is by far my favourite Rachel Lynn Solomon book she's ever written.
Granted I've only read two others out of the many (Today, Tonight, Tomorrow and the Ex Talk) but it was just the perfect book for a perfect getaway from my life.
The whole premise for the book was great too. Stuck in an infinite time loop? I loved it. Enemies to lovers? You betcha. Slow burn romance? Perfection. The plus-size rep? YAS!
This book was everything and Miles and Barrett were just such amazing characters! I was grinning almost all the way through and that rarely happens.
