I was a bit disappointed by this book and I don't know if its the writing or just me but I've read a few books by this author and have really struggled through them which suck because I seen so many good review and the whole premises of ground hog day really intrigued me but I was just bored reading it and couldn't force myself to keep going.

So nice, I read it twice. This will be one of my new favourites.
Yes, I think I loved this

Barrett Bloom is stuck in a time loop of her first day of college. Over & over. At first she tries Good Deeds and Mending Relationships to try to break the loop until she realizes a fellow student is also reliving that day

Read if you loved Russian Doll on Netflix (and I did), or enjoyed Replay. I found Barrett to be so much fun to be around, reliving her day in an endless loop. I fell in love with her parents, and enjoyed reading her growth as she came of age in Loop Time even as those around her weren't changing at all.

Turns out her priorities were not what she expected after all

I immediately googled this book after finishing it (the second time) to find that Rachel Lynn Solomon has said she was heavily influenced by 2020 movie Palm Springs. My immediate next move is to find out where I can access this title for more Miles & Barrett good times

This was an enjoyable YA novel based on two college students who find themselves stuck in a time loop. The characters were likeable and their romance was cute. I found the plot quite slow and think this book could have been 100 pages shorter. I found myself a bit bored in places. However, I think this could be more about me growing out of YA than the book itself. For those who love YA I think this book could be a much loved read. It just wasn't anything special for me.
Thanks to NetGalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

I LOVED this book! The main characters were interesting and felt fleshed out enough. I also really loved how they handled the whole repeat one day situation, I constantly felt entertained by what they did, and the theories they came up with.
I did however felt a tad bit underwhelmed by the ending. The book kind of just stopped suddenly, and I felt there were a few loose ends I would've preferred to have been tied.
Aside from that I felt satisfied with the book, and would definitely recommend it. 8.5/10 stars.

you know when you read a book and you're just imagining it being adapted into a movie the entire time? yeah, that's me with Rachel Lynn Solomon's See You Yesterday!

Barrett Bloom, who has just finished a rough few years of high school, is hoping that College will be an opportunity to start fresh. but her first day? yeah, that doesn't go so well: she didn't do the assigned readings for her class, she's embarrassed by a guy in Physics in front of everyone, and then she accidentally burns down a frat house.
luckily, she wakes up the next morning to find that she is repeating September 21st all over again. she relentlessly tries to improve her 'second' first day and eventually, Barrett discovers that the guy who humiliated her in Physics, Miles, is also trapped in the infinite 'time loop'. together, they try and figure out how to rectify the timeline and along the way, begin to develop feelings for one another.

if you are a fan of rivals to lovers, college-age romcoms, and magical realism, READ THIS BOOK!
this novel also has brilliant rep: Jewish and Japanese American main characters, and plus-size rep!

Barrett and Miles are everything. i am obsessed with them. i devoured this book in two days, it was just that good. get your hands on this delightfully creative and hilarious novel right now!!!!

also a massive thank you to NetGalley, Rachel, & Simon & Schuster for providing me with an e-arc of this novel!

See you Yesterday – 4.5 Stars ⭐️

I was lucky enough to receive this ARC from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review!!

Okay!! WOW. I loved this book. This book is a Time Travel, Groundhog Day and a stuck in a time loop book. I have seen this idea in many movies, and I love it. Palm Springs was the most recent movie I have watched with this idea, I loved that movie but loved this book even more. The book was written fantastically and is my favourite Rachel Lynn Solomon book I have read out of the three I have picked up. Barret and Miles are SOOOO CUTEEEE. I loved them as you can already tell.

I swooned over these two main characters. They were stuck in this time loop for two months living the same old day over and over again. I loved that Miles stayed patient in the book and never gave up and Barret made him smile again which made me grin my chops off reading this creative story!

One of my favourite things about this book is that it doesn’t focus on good looks at all. Barret was plus sized, and I loved that so much and Miles had a few facial features that most people dread to have and get really self-conscious about it (which they shouldn’t). This YA book was ADORABLE.

I wished I had picked this arc up earlier but my never ending TBR didn’t allow so. I think this book was perfect and I will recommend this to anyone that has a soul to care for Miles and Barret because they are simply the cutest!!

I feel like Miles grew so much in this book and learned so much from being in this time loop. His character development was such a cool thing to read about and to watch him grow into the man that Barret deserves was so cute! I have said “cute” way too many times now so I'm going to leave this review here. PLEASE pick yourself up a copy of the book, it comes out July 6th.

I will be posting a photo and review on my Bookstagram @readswithlily on the 24th of June and will be tagging Net Galley and Rachel Lynn Solomon. I will also be posting my Goodreads review on the books Pub Day.

Could we pleaaase get more YA/NA books that focus less on perfect looks? I loved that Barrett is plus-sized and still eats normal stuff. As for Miles, his ears stick out. Yes, they do. So what?

I have to admit, I knew Rachel Lynn Solomon’s name but had never read anything by her. No clue why. I could come up with thousands of excuses. An over-piling TBR, cheesy covers (while I love the colors!), too popular, whatever. And she actually lives in the country where I come from!!

See You Yesterday is a funny, heartwarming, and sweet story about two students trapped in a time loop, and I smiled so much that my face hurt. My favorite by far was Miles. I loved him immensely! Imagine being in a time loop for about two months and reliving the same day time and again. I would go crazy and get angry and sad and would scream out loud at times. Miles didn’t. He stayed stoic and only started living again because of Barrett. She made him actually grin again. So I swooned over this story and rooted for the two of them so much!

This story has convinced me. I should read more books by Rachel Lynn Solomon. My over-piling TBR will someday come tumbling down because of all those titles I’m adding and adding and adding, but I’ll definitely pick up one of Rachel’s other titles.

See You Yesterday was just simply delightful!

Barrett and Miles go through quite the journey that is full of laughs, tears, happiness, sadness and a hell of a lot of fun

It was great to see a "non-traditional" romantic leads - Barrett (super cool the name BTW Rachel) isn't stick-thin with perfect hair, she's got a curvy body and a crap tonne of curly hair. Miles is skinny, mixed race and has big ears. Neither fit the stereotypical mould that you come to expect in romance/contemporary romance novels so it was a nice change!

Barrett has a wicked sense of humour, which I also loved

The ebook is out now and paperback will be published July 6th

Make sure to add it to your TBR and pre-order now!

Thanks NetGalley and Simon & Schuster for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion

Love.The.Groundhog.Day.Trope

I’ve seen it so many times in film but to actually have a book version?? I am ECSTATIC.
And I couldn’t put this book down! It was a page turner from start to finish and whilst I’m not a fan of science, I liked how science was incorporated to explain the recurring event.
At first, I wasn’t a fan of Barret Bloom however, I loved her character development throughout the book and it made me love her so much more.

You need to pick up this book!

This is going to be a rave review, because I loved this book! It’s up there as one of my favourite YA romances of all time! Now I just need to convince you guys to read it.

I was so pleasantly surprised with this novel. I didn’t enjoy ‘Today Tonight Tomorrow’, but I did like ‘The Ex Talk’, so I had average expectations coming in. I did love the movie Palm Springs though, so I was excited for the premise of the novel! I love the Groundhog Day trope even more now after reading See You Yesterday.

The first thing I loved: the characters! Barrett was such a likeable and relatable protagonist. As somebody who also struggles with feeling like they’ll never be wanted, reading her inner monologue and watching her grow as a person made me so emotional. Miles quite possibly is the love of my life. He’s just the sweetest and I love nerdy love interests. Together, Barrett and Miles just made the cutest couple ever. I loved the slow burn aspects of the relationship and that you get to see them opening up to each other, over the course of the novel.

The book was just so much fun! The hijinks were so engaging to read and I couldn’t put the novel down. There was also some heavier moments in the book. I’m not embarrassed to say that I sobbed when I finished the book. Happy tears though! I’ll have to go out and get a physical copy of the book when it’s released, I loved that much!

I highly, highly, recommend for YA, and contemporary romance readers! I’m finishing off this review with the biggest smile on my face!

Loved this book. I loved all the characters... well all except cole. Every character had an unique personality, all in a good way. Barrett is such a strong brave character. She's very witty, hilarious and a relatable character. She suffers from anxiety and panic attacks. Then there's the other main character and love interest Miles. He is such a lovable nerd. He is so awkward and a smarty pants but the slow burn romances between these two characters was spot on. It was so cute to watch these two interact together. They are exact opposites but they work so well together. They get off to a rocky start at the beginning but then become such great friends and then more.

This was such a great read. The humour and characters in this was great.

Synopsis:
Barrett Bloom is hoping college will be a fresh start after her messy high school experience. But when school starts on September 21st, everything goes wrong. She can’t switch out of her Physics 101 class even after being humiliated by the awkward guy sitting next to her, and she botches her interview for the college paper. At a frat party that night, she accidentally tips over a tiki torch and sets the place on fire. She panics and flees, and when she realizes her roommate locked her out of their dorm, she falls asleep on a couch in the common room.

The next morning, Barrett’s perplexed to find herself back in her dorm room bed, no longer smelling of ashes and crushed dreams. It’s September 21st. Again. And after a confrontation with Miles, the guy from her physics class, she learns she’s not alone—he’s been trapped for months.

When her attempts to fix her timeline fail, she agrees to work with Miles to figure out what’s going on. They start skipping their classes in favor of the library and research trips that take them into the unexplored underbelly of the university and across state lines. As Barrett starts to fall for Miles, the two of them must find a way to grow and change alongside the shifting fabric of the universe. But the one question they can’t answer is what they’ll mean to each other if they finally make it to tomorrow.

TW; ongoing trauma from high school bullying and betrayal, mentioning of addiction, death

Thank you NetGalley and Simon & Schuster (Australia) for a copy of this ARC. All thoughts are my own.

I absolutely loved this. I've read a couple of time-travel/groundhog day books before, and none were done as well as See You Yesterday. Both Barrett and Miles face a lot of realistic emotions whilst being stuck in the time loop of their first day of college, and even when it was really over the top (adopting dogs, buying cars, turning pools into ball pits, for example), it still felt plausible to me.

But where the beauty of this novel hit home for me was in Barrett as a character. She was so darn relatable, I was almost triggered by my own past high school experience because of how closely it felt to hers. This is my first time reading a Rachel Lynn Solomon book, and I just have to say, her characterisation skills are on point. Barrett felt like someone I would have liked to have as a friend, and like Miles, thought was too cool to be my friend. She's been through hell and back during high school, and her desire for college to be her start over added a level of believability to this world. I think we've all been there in some way in our lives, and everything she felt or did had me invested from the start.

Miles, too, was a wonderful character. I loved his development the most throughout the novel. How he slowly blossomed in front of Barrett and shared his vulnerabilities with her was rewarding. It made their relationship all the more spectacular when Barrett began to realise she had feelings for him. I especially loved some of the moments that come to light from Miles previous experiences in the time loop, and how that played into their relationship. The trauma both characters faced from the pressures of their teenage years was so realistic, and I sat there wishing I had a Miles in my first year of university too. It's wholesome to see two people come together in the way Barrett and Miles did.

The time loop element of this book didn't get old, as I expected, which I was happy about. Even though September 21st repeated many times, there was always something new to explore or battle through. A lot of highs and lows occurred and kept the repetition fresh throughout. I also appreciated that it was never put in the back pocket of the novel as I've read in other stories like this. It's resolved well, the time-travelling is well thought out and shown through small details and changes that happened the longer the day repeated for both of them. I wasn't left pondering how it could work, because the author gave enough information for it to be plausible. I did find the final angsty moment a little exasperating, but it was quickly resolved, which I appreciated.

The humour and fun of the world really balanced out the angstier moments, and the romance was worth the wait. I think a lot of people of all age groups could like this book. It has a lot of relatable moments, and I consumed it, even lost sleep because I didn't want to step away from it.

I'll definitely be reading more by this author in the future.

This book follow Barrett and Miles . Barrett is wanting to start college fresh. There she meets Miles who she thinks is a know it all. That is until they both get stuck in a time loop together. And spend weeks trying to figure a way out. And that's what made this book so good. It's something slightly different. But still fits in that enemies to lovers YA category which I know people love.

This books just keeps you wanting to know what happens next and not want to put down. A definite favourite not just for me, but i feel like anyone will love it.

I think even if you've never read Rachel's work before you will love this.

The Netgalley gods have delivered for ol’ Nat this week! I almost woke my toddler up with my screams of delight when the approval for See You Yesterday arrived in my inbox.

Anyone who asks me for a book rec always gets a Rachel Lynn Solomon suggestion. TTT is one of my favourite books of all time. What I’m trying to say - my anticipation and excitement for this book was off the charts, and my bias risk is high haha.

SYY is a timeloop story, a la Palm Springs and Groundhog Day. The differentiating factor: Miles has already been repeating the day for weeks when Barrett has her first repeat. It’s a YA romance with quirky leads and a whole lot of backstory that gets you in the heart.

Things I liked:
- Barrett has no filter and generally says the awkward or sassiest thing. I really enjoyed her and being in her head.
- Miles is a smarty pants and I love it when nerdy guys are the hero!
- The heavier science-take on the timelooping was very cool - though I quit physics in year 11 and a lot of it went over my head haha
- HE FALLS FIRST. Gah. My catnip.
- The build up between the leads was the perfect slow burn for YA

I don’t have much to say about what I didn’t like because I loved it all? Haha. I sometimes struggle with sci-fi elements and my ability to detach from reality to get into the story. Wasn’t really a problem here! Maybe a little bit of repetition/similarity with other timelooping concepts?

Long story short: deliciously written, swoony and good fun. Immediate purchase for me. Go and get it.
