I appreciate the efforts made to incorporate paranormal supernatural creatures into everyday life. However, this book was just not for me. I felt that the story was a little inconclusive, but perhaps that will be picked up in future installments. The writing was a little too straightforward for my tastes as well. I am grateful for the opportunity to preview this book and I think it will certainly find its audience, I{m just not it.

I was originally drawn to this book by the cover but now I am confused as to who it's depicting. I assumed it was Sara but having seen her featured on the covers of the books prior, I am lost. Did the author change her race? Or am I missing something..

There's nothing wrong with this book, I was just disappointed that it wasn't what I was hoping for.

I love wolves and werewolves and it just didn't give me those feels unfortunately.

I absolutely adore the concept of being able to experience Sara's world in her human form and how being a wolf influences that, but I was a little underwhelmed.

All I really got was that she's a strong badass who happens to have a good sense of smell.

Time for another quick read about Sara and the interesting situations she gets herself in. Good to see Sara is finally getting a vacation in! But it wouldn’t be Sara if there wasn’t trouble. In this case, she’s riding the subway and comes across a woman who sets off her warning bells. Following after the woman, she finds herself eventually dealing with dead bodies, an incredible story to believe, and an ethical dilemma. And here all Sara wanted to do was take a simple vacation.

This book is fun and fast and Yay! Mason and Bill are back! And if you haven’t read previous books in the series you’re probably not as excited as me. They play an important part to the ethical dilemma Sara has to deal with. It’s an interesting one and definitely lingers with you once you finish reading. As much as I enjoyed this book, my favorite part is at the end when Mason gets the last word, the very obvious word in, and Sara realizes he’s right. LOL!!! Can’t wait to see what Sara about it.

I received this book from Netgalley and Booksprout. I was not compensated for the book other than the entertainment it provided. All thoughts and opinions are my own

This is part of a series made of up novellas and short stories. It is the first one I have read. There is some background information included but I still felt that lack of not reading others in this series. It felt like this story didn’t show enough of her personality or abilities.

Overall, it is a typical solid urban fantasy. The premise is interesting. What are you willing to do to save millions of people. If you could go back in time and kill Hitler as a child would you? Here, it isn’t Hitler, but it is someone who because a new Hitler. Would you help someone who says they are from the future and here on a mission to do just that?

It goes quickly. There is violence and action. I still feel that I would need to read more of this series to get a better feel for the main character.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

Amateur Assassin is my first read by this author, but it will not be my last. This was a quick but enjoyable read as werewolf Sara Flores, who is vacationing in New York City, is faced with am ethical dilemma. However, there is not a lot of time to make the decision, but it is something she must do and live with the consequences of her actions no matter what she decides. Looking forward to reading more by this author. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book!

I haven’t read any other books in this series. Yet. And it is obvious that there are other books. Sara is an interesting and engaging character faced with an incredible dilemma. This book kept me riveted and thinking long past the last page.
