In an era dominated by breathless predictions of artificial intelligence surpassing human capabilities, Gerd Gigerenzer’s "How to Stay Smart in a Smart World" offers a refreshingly grounded counterpoint. Gigerenzer dismantles the myth of algorithmic infallibility, demonstrating that while machines excel in narrow, rule-bound domains, human judgment remains indispensable in navigating the messy uncertainties of real life.
This is essential reading for anyone weary of tech utopianism and alarmism alike. It’s a rallying cry for humility in the face of both human fallibility and machine limitations—and a timely reminder that, in a world obsessed with artificial intelligence, the real challenge is staying human.

This is an excellent book! It provides thorough insights in discussing the nuances of AI and other new technological developments.

This book considers (very carefully and thoroughly) the question of which is smarter -- humans or machines and so far people still win. Machines that are programmed for a single game with a firm set of rules can beat human beings because of their speed but in situations where the game can change people still prevail. In today's battle between AI and IQ the human brain still prevails.
