Piper McCaulley's grandmother who is her last family member died two weeks before Christmas. While contemplating selling the house her great-great-great grandpa built, Piper wakes up in 1945 in the house when her gran was just a girl her age.

What a heartwarming holiday read. There is love, friendship and getting to know yourself like you haven't before. I liked all the characters but Nugget was my favorite!

This is the perfect time travel Christmas romance! Absolutely enjoyed every minute of it! The Alaskan setting during WW2 was nostalgic and the family and friends who cared so much for each other at the Great Expectations Lodge was so heart-warming. I loved handsome Lane, silly Nugget the reindeer and the friendship between young Marina and Piper.

This was my first book by Courtney Cole but now I'm on a hunt to find her previous books!

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are my own.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. On the cusp of life affirming decisions, Piper is transported to her family’s homestead in Wander, Alaska, 1944, a journey that shows Piper the importance of family, tradition, and legacy. This story seemed to me like some wrote out an excellent outline, then mad-libbed the supporting details. Plot and characters were entertaining, but pacing and flow are atrocious. While the ARC is an uncorrected proof by nature, the need for MAJOR story edits made it impossible to thoroughly enjoy the story (characters seemingly in 2 places at once, reindeer’s “fetlock” got stuck, not forelock. And the speed at which relationships were built was neck-breaking. Overall, really strong plot, but the details need work. Recommended for fans of The Kitchen Front and Alaskan Holiday.

Piper heads out into a snowstorm looking for her lodgers. In a blink of an eye everything changes. She lands in her lodge but it’s 1945 instead of 2022.
I do like a good time travel book and this one certainly was.
It’s an enjoyable story with a bit of a twist at the end.
I loved it! Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the early copy

What a wonderful story! A bit of romance, a dash of Christmas, a bit of time travel, some historical WWII fiction, mixed with friends who are like family with family who are like friends.

I truly enjoyed Piper's story as she mourned the loss of the grandmother who raised her, realizing she wished she'd paid more attention to her stories, only to have the chance to go back in time and experience those stories firsthand!

I found it hard to put this book down, even though I had other things that needed doing. The characters were enjoyable and the story kept me turning the pages. I would definitely recommend this if you enjoy character-driven stories.

Thank you to Courtney Cole, Avon and NetGalley for the advance review copy.

This is my first book from Courtney and it’s safe to say I’ll be getting all her books. It’s a fun and sweet story with an interesting twist. To be honest I love anything Christmas related so this one was a must get for me. And I absolutely loved it.
Thank you Netgalley for my ARC.

New author for me and a very interesting book. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. It would be fun to go back in time to visit family members. Can't wait for more books from this author

This was a cute, feel good story. I don't think it was much of a Christmas story though. Piper runs a family owned hunting lodge in Alaska when she gets lost in the snowy wilderness and is found by a family. They bring her back to their home which is the same lodge she runs but the year is 1944. She meets her Grandmother and Great Grandparents as they were during that time. There is also a love interest and it was interesting to see how that played out in the end. Does she go back to present day or is she stuck in 1944 ?
Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for a copy of this book for review.

This book is fun, sweet, quirky, and heartfelt. It can feel predictable at times, but it’s the kind of book that feels like being wrapped up in a warm blanket—cozy, warm, and comfortable. I liked the unique story line of time travel, so it didn’t just feel like another “Hallmark movie” kind of a story, but had an interesting twist. It was fun to have a little taste of Christmas in July with this book, and I would definitely recommend it to my friends!

Gotta love reading Christmas books in July. Piper McCaulley inherits her grandmother's guest lodge in Alaska. She is unsure if she wants to keep it running or sell. With Christmas type magic she is out in a blizzard and when she is found in the snow it is 1944. She feigns amnesia and ends up at her ancestral lodge and rooming with a grandmother when they are about the same age.

This is a sweet, and wholesome story that is can easily be a Hallmark Holiday movie. There are men recovering from the effects of world wars, pet reindeer and a chance to know a grandmother before she is worn down with life. It is also clean and very proper. I’m not a big fantasy reader but I enjoyed the characters and the story. I didn’t mind that there isn’t an explanation given. After all, Christmas is a magical season. I can see this not working for everyone and it isn’t the type of book I would always embrace. But I did this time. Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I originally hoped to read this because I lost my own grandmother a couple of years ago and she and my grandfather were such a large part of my life, and this story was mostly lovely and so very sweet.

While I did have a bit of an issue with this one (the premise required too much of a suspension of disbelief for me, this one was mostly a winner for me, due to the Alaskan setting, the appeal of Piper as a main character and the very appealing concept of spending time with a beloved and missed grandmother when they were younger.

A sweet winter story. Courtney Cole’s Home for Christmas is a time traveling tale set in Alaska in the present day and, primarily, in 1944. Out searching for guests of her hunting lodge during an oncoming blizzard, the main character, Piper, finds herself on the same property at the tail end of WWII. The author beautifully describes the snowy surroundings of the lodge and the area’s wildlife in both time frames, and the novel is relatively well written. Though I typically enjoy time shifting tales, however, I never could quite buy into the premise of this one and found myself just skimming after a fashion in haste to finish the book. Also, a few merry elements have been thrown in here and there, but this is really not a Christmas themed story, despite the title and gorgeous, festive cover. Two and a half stars. Many thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books for the complimentary ARC.

The Wizard of Oz meets It's A Wonderful Life. This is a beautifully written story about Piper and her journey to find her purpose in the business that her grandmother had left her when she passed away a few weeks before Christmas. This is set in present day and also 1944 Christmas in Alaska. This story is perfect read if you love cozy Christmas story.

I’m not sure why, but I just didn’t enjoy this book. There’s a lot of dialogue but it almost felt like too much. I didn’t care for the main character, Piper, at all. Her ovaries were constantly exploding. I made it about 80% through but I just couldn’t force myself to finish, not even to find out how it ended. I really like the cover though, and the plot wasn’t terrible, just not my cup of tea.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for a review and opinions are my own.

I received an ARC of, Home for Christmas by Courtney Cole. This was a lovely, heart warming, Christmas story. Piper is such a good strong character. Going back in time to get the history of her family, and where she came from.

Home for Christmas by Courtney Cole is a great contemporary fiction that is festive, heartwarming, romantic and uplifting novel that I really enjoyed.

This is such a wonderful book that could easily be turned into a movie.

The picturesque backdrop of Alaska, snow drifts, Christmas season and decorations abound. I loved the story of Piper trying to find herself, her mission and place in life, and what her family’s legacy truly means to her. The threads of family, your past, future, love, and finding all of these things are such beautiful themes.

I also loved the storyline of Piper being able to find out more about her past, her beloved Grandmother and her own life growing up in Alaska and her family home and business. It was heartwarming, inspiring, and hit just the right spots. I also loved the romance thread as well.

The pacing was relaxing, and I really liked the progression of the characters, and the ending.

5/5 stars
