An incredible follow-up to The EX HEX. I adored this one just as much and I want to live in this town with the characters. And the audio is incredible too!

The Kiss Curse was a fantastic follow up to The Ex Hex. Both of these books were fun, spooky, witchy, romantic, and generally adorable. This sequel was a lot of fun to read and I have really enjoyed these books so much. The characters are lovable and there are also some great villains for you to hate as well.

What I really enjoyed about this book was the mix of genres and tropes that blended together to create and engaging read. There was an enemies to lovers mixed with magic and academia and I was unable to put it down. I just really enjoyed this one and it was a perfect entry into the spooky season!

Okay, first, I received an arc from NetGalley -I'm so late, I know!- This book was so good. Is it a bit of insta-love? Yes. But was it cute, and funny, and swoony for what it was? Heck yeah! Loved it so much.

Seasonally, this book was enjoyable enough. I felt it lacked a little in some areas, but felt the same about Sterlings' Ex Hex as well.

I fell in absolute love with the first book in this series, despite rarely enjoying romance books, and the second one didn’t disappoint! I was so excited and swooning reading the second just as much as I did with the first!

I really loved the first book in this series so was a bit disappointed not to love this one. I did enjoy it but just didn’t love it as much. I had a hard time getting into the romance of it all but did enjoy the mystery aspect. I’m not sure if I’m interested in the next in the series

I loved this follow up to the Ex Hex! It is a high complement to say that I could not decide if I liked the original or the sequel better!

Just as cute as the first! I love a good grumpy-sunshine trope, and the leads had great chemistry. Would recommend!

Continuing in with my magical witchy reads for the month of October: I loved this sequel to The Ex Hex!

Here we get a great enemies to lovers small town magical romance. These rivals both own shops in town that sell souvenirs to the visiting non-magical folks. But when something strange starts happening to Gwynn’s magic they must work together to make sure the town is safe yet again.

They’re is great chemistry here, a true magical rom-com and I definitely recommend it. The perfect read for this time of year!

Struggled through this one! As much as I wanted to give magic a go, this one just wasn’t it for me. I realized I am definitely not a fantasy lover, regardless of the romance involved or not!

The writing was well done, characters worked well together, and the storyline made sense… just wasn’t my cup of tea!

The Jones witches are back! All is well in Graves Glen after the disaster that Gwyn and Vivi saved the town from certain doom, her shop Something Wicked is doing well and she is happily mentoring a new little group of young witches - what could go wrong? I was so excited to see a sequel to Sterling's hit "The Ex Hex" hitting shelves just in time for Halloween. With another visit to the spooky version of Stars Hollow I am now fully ready for the season. Also, with there still being another single Penhallow brother in Graves Glen, does this mean we get another next year?

I just don't think these books are for me. It's the writing style... it just doesn't gel with me. This is a lighthearted read but there's not enough detail or depth and so it fell flat for me.

After not enjoying the first book I read by this author. Because I didn’t care for the characters. And I was on the fence about the writing style. I wanted to give the author another chance. And after reading the Kiss Curse. I can say that it is both the author’s writing style and the characters that she creates that I don’t like.

It has been a year since “The Ex Hex” came out, so I’ve tried to refresh my memory by reading my review then. Still, I can’t remember if “The Kiss Curse” has the same vibe or not. It does continue that small town feel, with another personal feud between one Jones and one Penhallow witch. Rather than teenage heartbreak, Gwyn thinks Wells a pompous jerk, having crossed paths in high school. Plus, she can’t believe he skipped his brother Rhys’s wedding. We’ve got competing magic stores, a love spell, baby (college-age) witches, the return of a sus former college classmate who left on mysterious terms, with a coincidental loss of Gwyn’s magic powers. I can’t recall the steam level of “The Ex Hex” but I thought it was the right amount here. (Still might be a little too steamy for some.) It tries to be a little darker than the previous book, but with a guaranteed HEA it doesn’t hold much weight. It’s a great read for Fall/Halloween season, if you already loved “The Ex Hex.” and it looks like a third book is coming for that bear of a third brother.

Romantic and swoony. Read within 30 hours. Didn't read the first and still understood. Wells is HOT. Gwyn? Also hot.

To be honest I really don’t know why I requested this book because I was NOT a fan of The Ex Hex. I can say this was better but I’m just not into this world. I think the characters are very surface level and the writing is amateur at best.

I received this ARC from Net Galley. Erin Sterling's writing is so lovable and hilarious! I have fallen in love with this little witch town and the characters in this series! These read was the perfect laugh out loud little spooky rom com that everyone needs, especially during Halloween season! I would recommend this book and excited to hopefully see more from this author!

I really loved the Ex Hex and was so excited to be approved for the second on on NetGalley! The Kiss Curse involves Vivi's cousin, Gwynn and Rhys's brother Wells from the first book. Gwynn is holding onto a grudge stemming from college when Wells showed her up in front of her classmates and the grudge is only inflamed when Wells didn't show up to Vivi and Rhys's wedding.

They go through the typical enemies to lovers shenanigans but the enemies part is more Gwynn being a pain in the ass to Wells and Wells just being too stuffy to sink down to her level, it's fantastic! I really loved their banter and how quickly Wells falls in love with her. Sir Purcival once again is a show stealer and reading the acknowledgements at the end made me love him even more if possible. Erin based Sir Purcival on her own two black cats that she adopted from the Humane Society and I too had a black cat that I adopted from the Humane Society and tho she was not a people person at all to anyone else but she loved me. That just made me love Sir Purcival even more, I love finding connections to authors and their stories...it makes them feel more personal.

Anyway, I really found The Kiss Curse to be a fun, quick read with a bit of spice and lots of humor thrown in. Things are kind of resolved rather quickly and without really an explanation but I'm okay with that, if you liked the first one you know that this is more for romance genre than the fantasy genre.

I'm really looking forward to Bowen's book (I'm hoping he gets his own book...I mean he has to right?!) and I'm trying to think of who his love interest could be. Maybe the human he buys stuff from? Or maybe one of the baby witches? Either way can't wait for it!

I've been so excited for this since I first heard this book was going to be a thing and I'm so glad it didn't disappoint! The characters were fun. The plot was easy. And I think that's what I like about these books. They are just nice, light halloween-esque books that provide the perfect vibes for the fall season without getting too intense. The stakes are relatively light, and the romance is sooo sweet. I think I liked The Ex Hex just a little bit more, but this one was super fun too and if Erin Sterling writes another Halloween, witchy, small town book I will read it 100%

I didn't have time to squeeze this book into my reading list during October, and it seemed off to read it with other holidays right around the corner., I look forward to reading it after the holidays
