Tis the Season

I really enjoyed this Christmas based anthology. It was a quick and very enjoyable read. The stories shared a common thread of the themes of romance, God's will, family and overcoming obstacles. It also focused on the importance of the true meaning of Christmas and how it impacts our lives. This is a great read that will put you in the Christmas spirit no matter what time of the year it is.

This book was a collection of three Christmas novellas. I really enjoy Shelley Shepard Gray's stories so I requested this one. I thought they were really nice stories and overall I enjoyed it. This would make a good read for someone who enjoys Amish books.

I liked the first two stories but did not care for the third. I skimmed most of it. The book was an easy read.

This is a Christmas anthology that is enjoyable to read any time of year. The first story 'BUGGIES, TRAINS, AND AUTOMOBILES' is my favorite. Both John Miller and Ellie Coblentz need to get back to their family homes ASAP. Due to unforeseen circumstances, they end up traveling together by both helpful and unhelpful strangers. The second story 'STAR OF WONDER' is a story of a Mennonite girl who falls for an Old Order Amish man. Though this is a good story, Lizzie is bolder and more impulsive than I can identify with in pursuing a relationship with Raymond. I did love how open hearted and persistent that she is. 'STARLIGHT EVERLASTING' is a sweet story about a young newlywed couples that need to live in different cities during the week due to his work. It is interesting to see how the modern world has affected the Amish ability to work on the farm and learn the trades that sustain their ways of life. I love how supportive they were of each other. I received a free copy of this ebook from the author. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. I really like these sweet Christian romantic stories.

I love novella collections, and I love Christmas stories, and I love Amish-themed stories, so this was just the right combination! This is a charming collection by three popular Amish authors. Key themes of God, family, and the beauty and meaning of the holiday season are evident throughout each story. This is a great book to help get the reader in the holiday spirit!

Adventures, artists, and newlyweds. This collection of novellas has something for everyone, and each evokes the wonder of the Christmas season.

Unique characters, well developed, will bring joy and warmth to your life as you read. Each story is vastly different from the others which makes this book even more fun to read. I highly recommend it if you enjoy Amish fiction with a Christmas setting.

"An Amish Christmas Star" is a collection of three novellas by popular authors. They include: "Buggies, Trains, and Automobiles" by Shelley Shepard Gray, "Star of Wonder" by Charlotte Hubbard, and "Starlight Everlasting" by Rosalind Lauer. These are fun Christmas stories focusing on the real meaning of Christmas, and it's great getting three stories in one book! In Charlotte Hubbard's novella, you'll be taken back to the community of Promise Lodge. Rosalind Lauer's novel will take you back to Joyful River. If you're a fan of clean, Amish romance, you won't want to miss this book.

I received an e-ARC of this book from #NetGalley and #KensingtonBooks. All opinions expressed herein are solely my own.

Very enjoyable read. Puts you in the spirit of Christmas. The first novella is by Shelley Shepard Gray called BUGGIES, TRAINS, AND AUTOMOBILES . This is a story about two people not knowing each other trying to get home to family for different reasons. John Miller needs to get home is father is dying. Ellie Coblentz needs to care for her Aunt. As they begin there travel Ellie loses her seat do to a problem with a mix up on seating arrangement. When John meets Ellie they find away to get home but there are many problems along the way. Beautiful story funny and inspirational. Second novella STAR OF WONDER by Charlotte Hubbard. This is a story about Raymond Overholt who is Amish and comes to Promise Lodge to sell his beautiful Barn signs with messages of Christmas and Stars. He meets Lizzie Zehr who is Mennonite who works and also lives there. I loved the characters and it is funny but beautiful. The last novella STARLIGHT EVERLASTING is by Rosalind Lauer. This one is about Newlyweds Rachel and Luke Coblentz. Rachael lost her mother and helps care for her brothers and sisters to help her father. Luke can not find a job and works away and comes home on weekends. This is a touching story about Faith and love and determination. I received a complimentary copy of this book. I loved this book and would have been happy to just keep reading, but they did come to conclusions!

Each author gives us a different story, they are not connected, but I was familiar with Charlotte Hubbard's characters, and some of the back stories, I did love how she used a famous Christmas story in her read, and how it all turned out!

Three entirely different stories to bring the true meaning of Christmas, and they all follow the Christmas Star.

A great book to get into the Holiday Spirit!

A wonderful collection of Christmas stories that reminds us of what Christmas is truly all about. The love that Jesus gave and still gives us if we accept.
I loved all of these stories especially John and Ellie's story. I did have some trouble believing it though.. just not possible in today's world. Yes, there are still some good ppl out there but few and far between but I still loved reading it.
Lizzie in Charlotte's story is quite the character. I found myself liking her as I turned each page. I was thinking that this one should be a novel. I hope Charlotte does eventually write one. I'd love to know Lizzie better.
I loved Rosalind's story too.
These stories all.have a couple of things in common a star and they offer hope.
I give this book 5 stars for a job well done!
I highly recommend it and it will get you in the Christmas spirit.
I thoroughly enjoyed it

Three Christmas novellas, each featuring a star. They were all enjoyable Christmas stories but my favorite was Starlight Everlasting. I loved the love and support the sisters showed for their families. Each story had a Christmas message but the joy and excitement Truman had for the Christmas star was heartwarming.

An Amish Christmas Star
Shelley Shepard Gray; Charlotte Hubbard; Rosalind Lauer
4 stars
BUGGIES, TRAINS, AND AUTOMOBILES by Shelley Shepard Gray
John and Ellie are both trying to get home for very different reasons. They have a very eventful and comical journey, meeting up with some wonderful strangers, as well as some truly awful ones. This humorous tale is a much different Amish story than most. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

1 star
STAR OF WONDER by Charlotte Hubbard is the second book in this three story book. I did not like this novella at all. I ended up just not finishing it.

4 stars
STARLIGHT EVERLASTING by Rosalind Lauer
I loved everything about this book, particularly the newlyweds Rachel and Luke. They struggle to help her widowed father and siblings while Luke has to work in another city. This is just a fantastic novella of love, faith, friendship and Christmas peace.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and Netgalley.

Jesus is the center of all good love stories and this book is right along with it! I adore books such as these that remind us all of what the true spirit of Christmas can do!

Bring all together and most of all love Jesus!

I loved all three of these stories. If you like Amish stories you so love these. The Christmas Star is the main thing in these stories. This is VERY GOOD READ. These stories are about difficult decisions they have to make at Christmas.

Shelley Shepard Gray - Buggies, Trains, and Automobiles had me laughing at the scenarios John and Ellie had to endure. Which is a great thing, but I was in places where one needed to be quiet and reserved, and I was laughing!! I enjoyed this short story and became quickly attached to the characters (I usually do with one of Gray's books).

Charlotte Hubbard - Star of Wonder was a cute story. I enjoyed Lizzie (because she reminds me of myself) and her exuberance for life and for God. She practiced what she preached and kept her eyes on God and her faith never wavered throughout the story.

Rosalind Lauer - Starlight Everlasting was fantastic! I looked up more of Rosalind Lauers books, because this was an introduction to her and her writing. I am looking forward to reading more of her works - especially the ones that take place in Joyful River.
