A solid urban fantasy book.
It took me a while to get into this book (about the 45% mark) because there were so many different character POVs and different plotlines. They did all come together and while there were one or two that I think were unnecessary having different POVs for the main characters gave them more depth. The world took a while to understand, and a few of the main characters didn't feel fully formed so I wasn't invested in the story for a while.
The plot was a new take and I was pleasantly surprised by many of the twists and turns it took. It does end on a bit of a cliffhanger, but that plotline was the most confusing part for me so I don't know that I am inclined to follow through on it. I think part of my problem was that the part of the fantasy world building was based in Catholicism which I think we were supposed to inherently trust and know, and I don't see the Catholic Church as benevolent nor do I like stories that heavily rely on the Catholic Church for their base.

I loved reading this book. There was romance and adventure. However, there was a lot going on and a little hard to keep up, but in the end I understood what was happening. I really enjoyed reading this book and it kept me interested the whole time.
