Sophie Cousens is always a winner in my eyes! You can count on an engaging plot, cute romcom elements, easy to follow storyline, and characters that you'll like right away. The tropes in this book just weren't my favorite - I'm not a big fan of wishy-washy engagements, or a plot driven by "whats if??" This was closer to 3.5/5 stars for me.

I'm a huge fan of Sophie Cousens and will always read anything she releases.
Cousens does an excellent job of creating likable, believable characters, even as they sometimes do unlikable things. The elements she adds to setting a scene and creating a world are top notch.
In Before I Do, a nervous bride to be is contemplating if she should marry her steady, dependable fiance - or if she should pursue the attention of a boy she had one magical day with years before who has suddenly appeared on the eve of her wedding.
The difficult part about this book is that the fiance is incredibly likable, and his affections are (plot-wise) assured through their engagement. It made the main character's neurotic waffling between the two men a bit tiresome, and the potential for tension very small between the man she eventually chooses choosing her back.

I loved this book! It's well-written, enjoyable, and a great read. The author did a great job of writing in a way that captures the readers attention, and makes you not want to put it down until you're finished! I love everything Sophie Cousens writes, she's an auto-buy author for me! I would highly recommend it!

What a rollercoaster of emotions. I had moments of being so torn but ultimately, I was thrilled with the choices made and the end of the book.

🌸 Love Triangle
🌸 Past/Present Timelines
🌸 Everything That Could Go Wrong Does
🌸 Wedding Eve

I think if I throw any more tropes in there it will give too much away.

The key to a good love triangle in my opinion is where I struggle to choose. I had such a hard time trying to figure out if Audrey and I were on the same page as to who she should choose.

I flew through this audio. The narrator did a phenomenal job and I loved every moment. So many laughs and cringes and googling to see if Josh knew things I didn’t. He did. I learned things 😅🫣😆

Such a wonderful story of love and choices.

4.5/5

Sophie Cousens’ Before I Do is the story of Audrey who is about to marry stable Josh but then her “what-if” guy Fred shows up at their rehearsal dinner with her sister. I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary copy of this well-written book about family, love, and fate. What a fun book!

I liked this book but found the beginning and middle too slow. We got too much backstory with Fred and not enough with Josh. I would have liked to hear more/might have helped me feel more attached to the characters. Overall a cute read and the second half was much quicker than the first.

Sophie Cousens delivers another emotional, sweet story that follows Audrey in her stable life with her stable fiance, until the night before her wedding when she sees an ex and wonders "what if"...?

I enjoyed the premise of this book and it did lead me down a few thought trails of "what if" I had made certain decisions differently, I think we can all relate to Audrey in that aspect. Sophie's writing is always so captivating, and this one is no different. A quick read for me as I was so curious what Audrey would do in the end, I really didn't know how things would play out. And that epilogue was ♥! Overall well done and I certainly will be keeping Sophie on my list of must-read authors!

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group Putnam for my gifted copy - all thoughts are my own.

This was an adorable love story. I really grew to love the fmc and mmc and their journey together. Im interested in reading the rest of that authors backlist now.

This book was such a pleasant surprise! I was hesitant about the whole “the one who got away” plot at the start but quickly warmed up to the characters and the dilemma. Even by the last quarter, I still couldn’t tell how it would end and which direction it would take. And the epilogue was the perfect ending in my opinion! This felt like a 90s romance movie, and I would recommend it for fans of The Two Lives of Lydia Byrd.

I always enjoy a good Sophie Cousens book and this one was no different! Audrey's predicament is one I find myself having often (not the possibly marrying the wrong man) but thinking about how life would be different if I had made different choices. I thought Cousens did a great job of exploring this topic in a fun way

This book was enjoyable but unfortunately, I didn’t find Audrey very relatable. Love triangles are a tough trope but it made it more difficult was the fact that the MC was not particularly invested in either love interest, making it hard for me to invest in either of them as well.

There were some hilarious wedding shenanigans though!

Picture this: perfect life, stable fiance….everything’s going great the night before the big day and you see him. The guy you instantly thought “what if” this page turner had me wanting more and more. I just needed to find out her decision.

I loved 'Before I Do' by Sophie Cousens. Audrey is about to marry her stable fiance, Josh. Until the night before her wedding, she sees her ex from 6 years ago and wonders all of the 'what ifs'. I really enjoyed reading this and finding out what Audrey would ultimately choose to do.

Jumping timelines, romance, a strong hook, you can’t go wrong with a Sophie Cousens book!

Her writing is so strong, captivating, and thoughtful. Though I was intrigued by the book, it isn’t my favorite book of hers. I thought “I just haven’t Met you yet” what is a masterpiece. I think my issue with with this book is I found the characters in the stress of the wedding, a little too much for me. Regardless, I think it’s worth the read.

This wasn’t my favorite of the authors books. I wasn’t as emotionally connected to the characters. I did enjoy the story line and still gobbled up the book in a few days.

Enjoyable book even if I had issues with a bride second guessing her groom the night before she says I Do, but at least it was before! This was a fun book with interesting characters I enjoyed.

What if you had an amazing day with a stranger and then that stranger shows up six years later at the rehearsal dinner for your wedding?

Audrey had an amazing day six years ago with a complete stranger named Fred. But things didn't turned out as planned for them. Six years later, Audrey is marrying Josh, but with a lack of fireworks, she's beginning to wonder if he really is the one. When Fred shows up as Josh's sister's date to Audrey and Josh's wedding, Audrey begins to wonder if it's a coincidence or if fate is intervening.

This was such a fun romance. I loved the "what if' aspect to the story, and really enjoyed Audrey's character. I think we can all relate to her especially when It comes to thinking about the one that got away. I thought the wedding scenes were really funny because who can't relate to something going wrong at their wedding, but for Audrey, everything was going wrong at hers. I thought her feelings throughout the book were realistic and portrayed well, and really enjoyed how it all came together in the end.

Sophie Cousens has become one of my favorite romance authors, and I love how she brings a little "magic" into her stories while keeping them realistic.
