Develop Your Leadership Skills by John Adair is a book educating individuals on how to be a good leader and highlights different leadership skills which need to be developed to allow one to become a good leader. This is a great introduction to the theory of leadership which would be particularly good for those new to leadership or those who want to develop their leadership skills without getting too much into theoretical leadership and leadership psychology.

I liked this book as it fully explained all aspects of how you can develop your leadership skills with examples, checklists and self-assessment resources throughout this book. The book is most suited for those who are leaders within a business setting but is also useful for anyone who is in a leadership role. The one thing which disappointed me about this book is that it may not have gone into as much detail as I would have liked in some areas.

Altogether, I rate this book 3 stars making it a good book as it provided an effective introduction and guide on how one can develop one's leadership skills, which is very important if one wishes to be a successful leader. I found this book repetitive to others I have read on leadership. There were some useful nuggets of information but more of a refresher than new material.

A useful, concise and clear guide - with practical examples and thought experiences to apply to real-life leadership situations.

This is a pretty good starter book to learn more about leadership and work on developing your leadership skills more.
