This was a fairly enjoyable read overall, but it felt overly long and drawn out for me.

Georgie All Along is about a woman trying to figure out what she wants out of life after her boss up and quits her career, leaving Georgie, her personal assistant, very abruptly. Georgie’s pregnant best friend begs her to come home for a while as she figures out what her next move will be, and as they go through their childhood treasures she finds a “friend fic” that the girls wrote together as a kind of way to imagine how they can conquer high school—basically stories about the experiences they hoped to have. Georgie decides to try to have these experiences now to see if she can figure out who she wants to be? I guess? Even though this is supposed to be the plot of the book, this part often seemed like an afterthought.

Anyway, she encounters Levi Fanning, the reformed local bad boy, in her house (forced proximity trope) and they proceed to develop feelings.

This book is soooo internal, which makes it feel slow paced and way too long. Levi is monosyllabic to the point that I don’t understand how Georgie fell in love with him, and although his POV chapters are very sweet, he’s painted as such a wounded bird that I was expecting a big emotional payoff when he finally confronted his family—which we never really get.

The friend fic should have been the driver for events throughout the book, and yet it felt like it was almost forgotten, and I didn’t buy into how it would help Georgie in the first place. Given that she was working in L.A. I figured maybe it would become her idea for a screenplay, but instead they just spray painted a rock and jumped into a river and called it a day.

The forced proximity trope also had promise, but that ended around 50% into the book! Why?! Once you commit to a situation, stay with it!

There is a bit of spice in this book, two scenes with medium detail. I would have wanted more tension building up to it though.

Not a bad book by any means, I just felt like I wanted more.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Oh my, I just found my new favorite author.

Georgie is a free spirit, who found herself as personal assistant to a big shot in Hollywood. Except now, her old boss is reinventing herself and doesn’t need Georgie.

Levi started off as nothing but trouble in a small town but has been making amends quietly and stoically every since while being disowned from his family. Too bad Georgie’s 8th grade journal is all about her and Evan, Levi’s younger brother and their dream life together. Because - Georgie might just be what finally cracks the Levi-shell.

What this book has, that I didn’t see coming, is a real look at a father-son dynamic which is almost never discussed. Levi and his Dad have had some really bad moments, and that has affected his family more then Levi ever realized. Digging into this with his brother, these are some of my favorite scenes in the book.

Loved this book.

Flew through this rom com! It was so enjoyable—part romance, part womans fiction, and part comedy. It all fit together seamlessly. I loved Georgie do much. She was such a fun and likeable main character. I really loved her relationships with all the side characters too, it added so much flavor.

I cannot wait for more from Clayborn.

This book was so good! I was lucky enough to get a copy through netgalley for my honest review and I'm so happy I got the opportunity to read this early.

I immediately fell in love with every single character. I saw myself in every messy and crazy part of Georgie and Levi was the ultimate grumpy book boyfriend. I loved seeing both of their perspectives in the dual POV.

Georgie is an absolute whirlwind but she loves to help other people organize so she's definitely my kind of gal. Levi is so sweet deep down under his gruff exterior and the way he sees Georgie is so precious.

I love Hank. Hank is the best. Hank is my favorite.

The whole story was so full of little pieces that all fit together so well. It wasn't just a romance. The friendship between Georgie and Bel was so cute. The family life represented on both Georgie and Levis sides was beautifully done and the process of them each finding themselves flowed together perfectly. Finally the steam was so good. Not over the top or too frequent but exactly what fit in the story.

If you like Grumpy/Sunshine and want something that will give you all the happy warm feelings then this is a great recommendation.

Sweet story of big city girl returns home to fall in love with high school bad boy. Both Georgie and Levi are trying to find themselves, so naturally they find themselves through each other. But does Levi fit into Georgie’s world? I enjoyed this. Easy read, cute moments, little bits of humor.

This was my first from Kate Clayborn and overall, I enjoyed it. It was surprisingly relatable with a female MC who is struggling with finding her identity as she has spent most of her life prioritizing the happiness of others over her own and feeling less than and a little lost because she does not have a clear typical life plan. As a Sagittarius who likes to leave room for spontaneity, I felt that. The male MC is also misunderstood and has spent his adult life trying to shake his bad reputation and prove himself to his father and the residents of his small town.

I loved the story, the journey of self discovery, and the overall message. However, this still needed some editing. I noticed certain words repeated frequently which got under my skin a bit. I don’t know if this was intentional but It took my out of the story a bit and I felt thar it wasn’t absolutely necessary.

Ah Kate Clayborn, how your books wreck me in the most delightful way! GEORGIE, ALL ALONG continues her unbroken streak of gorgeously written and emotionally cathartic romances. This time, we've got a Grumpy-Sunshine love story in a forced proximity setting—and it's completely charming and touching and feels new. I especially adored Hank, the dog, and Georgie's scattered boho parents. However, what I love most about Clayborn's books are how masterfully she crafts her main characters' emotional arcs. Her HEAs always feel well-earned and emotionally resonant—I really think she's one of the best romance authors writing today hands down. Many thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for the advance read. I'll be recommending this one all around!

Thank you, Netgalley and Publisher, for this Arc!!!

This is the perfect romcom. Two characters working with themselves, through their own emotions, and Voila! True love! This has the angst, the humor, the romance and spice I needed for romcom bliss.

Georgie moves back home after being retired from her job as a Personal assistant in California with her screenwriter boss, she decides to take a long vacation. She is at once overwhelmed and underwhelmed by going back to small town life. At least, until she meets Levi Fanning.

One of my favorite parts of this story was Levi's dog, Hank. Hank is a constant source of comic relief and loveable cuteness that cannot be ignored.. So, yeah. A perfect romcom with a cut doggie. I cannot ask for more!

Out January 24, 2023!

unfortunately, this was a miss for me. it just moved far too slowly. this is an incredibly internal book and i felt like you got far too much of the characters thoughts and not enough plot. the book easily should've started at least 40 pages in. the book did not need to open with georgie thinking to herself in the car, we should've been thrown into plot much quicker. despite all the time with internal thoughts and feelings, i felt that it was still rushed in terms of the relationship

sigh, not for me

I won't summarize the blurb, this needs to be dived into straight and clean.

What I loved most about this romance was all the things it was missing: over-used tropes, a series of hard to take traumas, unpalatable MC's, huge misunderstandings that take most of the novel to resolve, etc. This felt fresh, and refreshing, for how relatable much of this story was and the way things got resolved. Georgia's parents were adorable, and I loved their reaction to walking in to the"sweet moment" between Levi and Georgia. The fluid and smooth way in which this story was told is everything, and I don't miss the over the top drama that comes with many romance novels today. I will most definitely be checking out Kate Clayborn's other books.

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this.

Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Books for the arc of this book in exchange of an honest review

"That's always how it is with Levi: what I want, but better."

I had never read anything from Kate Clayborn and Georgie All Along was a great surprise for me. I enjoyed the plot, the main characters, THE DUAL POV, and how she was able to develop most of the side characters as well.

The writing is fluid, if not for the rush of the end of the year, I would’ve read this one much faster. The plot is good, maybe a little predictable, but it never proposed to be revolutionary, and even (SPOILER) the third act breakup works because it happened for a real reason, not just miscommunication. Georgie and Levi are relatable, they feel real, I really enjoyed how their relationship evolved and how they had their own personal issues to be solved that did not involve the romance.

Overall it’s a fun book, but I think I lacks revision (now english is not my first language so I could only be lost in translation here) and although the story is sometimes predictable it is not a bad thing for me, god knows I love to guess things and be right about it.

Georgie has always put everyone before herself. When her boss decides to take off, Georgie heads home for a bit to be there for her best friend as she reaches the end of her pregnancy. While digging through old boxes, she comes across her old journal, the one with everything she ever wanted to do. So obviously she and Bel have to do them all while she is home. The first night in her parents house however, a surprise shows up in Levi. Her parents just forgot to mention he would be staying there as well. Now this mysterious man, whose brother she used to have a massive crush on, wants in on the fun.

This one took me longer to get through that normal, but it had nothing to do with the book. For some reason I just had trouble making a dent in my reading! I could totally relate to Georgie feeling like she wasn’t where she wanted to be in life, and coming home to find herself. I also just swooned for Levi. He had such a tough exterior but deep down he has such a soft spot! I found their friendship/relationship to be just delightful, and I really loved how the story ended!

Many thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The book's description is very thorough so I'll just add that this is a sweet emotional journey full of laugh out loud moments and heart wrenching angst. Family relationships, best friends, and romance are all covered in a thoughtful way along with a healthy dose of self discovery for the two main characters. Definitely an enjoyable and thought provoking read!

Thanks to the publisher, the author and Netgalley for an ARC of this book - I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is surprisingly the first book by this author I have read, and I found it so enjoyable that I am keen to read more.
Without giving too much away, the characters in this book are complex and layered. The writing is excellent and really brings to life the people in this town, Georgie and Levi in particular (however, my favourite is the dog). Life is messy and chaotic and sometimes does not adhere to plans - and in the world we live in now, that message is well-received. As is the fact that if we really listen to each other, have compassion and live life in the moment, we may find ourselves getting a lot more out of life..

Yes, this is a romance, but it's a lot more.

Levi is a leading man with some depth. He has a complicated backstory that explains why he is the way he is. I loved that he has this difficult past but he doesn’t shy away from it. He owns his mistakes and doesn’t blame his behavior on anyone else.

My favorite part of this story was the maturity of Levi and Georgie’s relationship. They weren’t perfect but they acted like adults and handled their disagreements in a realistic way. They owned their issues and worked to be better people. It was refreshing to read what felt like legitimate difficulties that might arise in a relationship and see two mature adults work to overcome them.

The writing was funny and clever but not overly cute. I loved the subplot with Levi’s siblings, especially his relationship with his brother. I think the author handled the family estrangement really well and she didn’t rush to give Levi and his parents some unbelievable happy ending.

I really enjoyed this and will be reading the author’s backlist.

I really enjoyed this book and read it in one sitting! Georgie was having a bit of an early mid-life crisis, which forced her to slow down and enjoy the little things in life. I loved that she revisited an old bucket list and how none of her experiences really turned out as she expected (because, really, when DOES that happen!?). Enjoyed her relationship with her SO, family, and friends. A very pleasant read, IMO. Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the advanced reader copy.

A sweet misunderstood cinnamon roll hero and his perfect match? Yes please!

A big thank you to Kensington for providing me with a review copy in exchange of an honest review.

I have been reading and hearing about this book for months. How fantastic it was, how it became a new favorite for a lot of readers, and so on, so when asked my Twitter people if I should request it and received a bunch of yeses and explanations of why, I knew it was a must. So here we are.

Quite a simple story and it goes like this:

A small-town girl returns to her roots after living in the city for years and falls in love with the town’s outcast bad boy, who just so happens to be one of the sweetest men alive.

Another more detailed is:

Georgie Mulcahy has worked as an assistant in L.A. for years but after her boss decides to make a life-changing decision, she finds herself back in her hometown, now jobless. While she’s rummaging trough her past, she’s surprised to rediscover her “friendfic” diary. Georgie decides to take up the quest of completing her childhood list in the hopes of making a new path for herself. When Levi Fanning, town bad boy and hermit, offers to help her complete her list, she realizes that their past may be holding them back from a better future and…each other.

This story is raw, romantic to its very core and has a cast of amazing characters. It’s about self-forgiveness and acceptance in many moments. I went into it with a “I know I’m going to love it” so I was pretty positive, and I did love it. So much.

Georgie was so fun, it starts off with her returning to her hometown and facing off with her past life. Her town folks remember her as a kind of failure and unmotivated student. So when she returns after what happened in L.A. she feels like it’s all true.

Levi has a difficult past. He made choices that ultimately led him to being an outcast and cutting off contact with his family(expect the worse). There are so many layers to this man and the more they peeled, the more I fell in love with him. First of all, who doesn’t love a man who is everything with his dog? Like honestly, it’s like catnip to my heart. In addition, he’s a cinnamon roll of a man. See? Perfect. Man.

I truly had the best time watching these two fall in love. This book was a huge reminder of why i fell in love with romance in the first place.

They more layers they got off each other, the more they fell in love. It was everything.

I finished this book a week ago and have yet to stop thinking about it. Kate Clayborn has a way of telling a story that is so beautiful you can’t help but think about them. Georgie is easy to relate to and Levi deserves a massive hug. I loved this book so much!

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was so close to loving this book, but I just couldn't.
"Why is that,?" You ask?
It was Georgie, All Along.
(See what I did there?)

For real though, this book had a lot going for it. Levi was an absolute gem and the secondary characters were well fleshed out. The themes are really relatable for anyone whose questioned their life choices. So.....everyone. The dual POVSs added to the story and the pacing was solid, though the writing was kind of repetitive. There we're a few typos, but I assume those will be fixed in the final version.

Unfortunately, I just found George to be a really flat MC. Honestly, she felt like an audience insert. She never really makes a mistake or shows a flaw; her whole "arc" is basically just learning to recognize how awesome she is. Also, the drama with Levi's family felt under-developed, more of a way to shoehorn conflict into their relationship than anything else.
