I think Kate Clayton wrote this book just for me! A Virginia setting (hello from this fellow Richmonder!). enemies to friends to lovers, forced proximity trope and even a pit bull dog dad?! Oh, my heart! I loved Georgie’s quirks and humanity. She felt as real as a friend I may have gone to high school with. This one was charming and heart warming and has already been recommended to lots of my like-minded friends! I can’t wait to see what Kate writes next! 💖🐶

Georgie, All Along was a cute romance read. It truly felt genuine and cutesy. If you are a fan of small town romance, then you are going to love this one. Georgie finds herself back to her hometown where she finds her personal diary. And she discovers that she hasn't been living her life as she thought she was. Since discovering her personal diary, she starts to live her expectations or try too. She has to adjust to certain things.

This was a fine story, nothing earth shattering but kept me interested. It seems as though it would only appeal to one demographic, not sure it has lasting power beyond that.

I listened to the audio book on @everand. The narration was great. I'm just not sure how I felt about the story. I felt no connection to the characters except Hank 🐕. I didn't necessarily hate the book but I didn't love it. 🤷‍♀️

This book is pure delight - Georgie returns home to help her long time friend prepare for the birth of her first child when she discovers the "fic", a book they created prior to starting high school filled with all the things they'd imagined for their future. Feeling a little adrift, she decides to complete tasks she outlined as a means to finding a new path for herself. I felt many emotions during this - most importantly joy.

2.5 I had such a hard time getting into this book. I really thought I would love it based on the grumpy sunshine romance usually being one of my favorites but for some reason I just had no feelings about the characters which left me kind of indifferent to what happened. I will say I could see others enjoying this but for some reason the characters really didn’t do much for me.

Georgie, All Along was a well done story with the grumpy/sunshine romance trope woven together with themes of coming home, finding your place in life and familial relationships. This slow burn story did a great job at developing the characters and I was invested in the outcome. Honestly, at first Levi annoyed me with his sullen, no talking attitude, but he quickly grew on me and I was rooting for him and Georgie. I liked that the communication was mostly there, and even when they were working through things, it felt mature.
Thank you Kensington Books for the copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you very much for the opportunity to read this book early! I really enjoyed it. I thought the writing was very well done, and the story kept me interested. I believe my students/patrons would also love this book and will be acquiring it for the library!

Unfortunately this one fell flat for me! I’m so glad I got to review this one and it is definitely something I would recommend to certain readers but not for everyone. Wasn’t a huge fan of the main character and prefer stronger female MCs with more grounded characteristics

I was excited to pick up Georgie, All Along by Kate Clayborn because I really enjoyed one of her other books called Love Lettering. What I enjoyed most about Love Lettering was the realistic way that the relationship developed between the two main characters, and I was happy to find that the same was true for this book as well.

When Georgie is laid off from her job as a personal assistant to a hollywood filmmaker, she comes back to her hometown to stay for a while. It isn't ideal, but her best friend is about to have a baby, and her parents have a house sitting empty. The set up is decent.

While cleaning up Bel's house one day, Georgie stumbles upon an old journal that the two of them kept during their teenage years. They wrote about their hopes and their dreams for high school, and compiled a list of things they wanted to do and achieve.

Bel is busy preparing for the new baby. So Georgie takes things into her own hands. There are a lot of things on the list that have yet to be done. Why can't she complete them now?

I love a bucket list type story, where characters are challenging themselves to try new things. It always makes for humorous situations and this story was no exception. One of the funniest scenes to me is when Georgie does something a little reckless, and has to be rescued.

I mean, she doesn't really need rescuing. But Levi might kind of sort of jump to his own conclusions.

Georgie, All Along was a very emotional story. On one hand you have Georgie, who is trying to figure out what to do with her life. And then there's Levi. He's obviously a very nice guy, but he's still so uncomfortable with his past. He's conditioned himself to believe that he's fine on his own and that he doesn't need anyone, besides his dog Hank.

Georgie and Levi are total opposites and I loved that for this story. It was sweet to see how Georgie could help him open up. And I loved his more vulnerable moments with her.

If you like grumpy/sunshine romances then this book is for you. Georgie is the bright spot in Levi's day, and I loved that for him.

Thank you to Netgalley for an eBook in exchange for my honest thoughts! I think contemporary romance fans will love this book. It feels very much like a story that could be made into a great romcom, in my opinion.

I often have trouble with contemporary romance, especially without some element of over the top humor or an element of mystery/suspense. I have trouble believing the conflict between the characters, and have little patience for situations that could be cleared up with a simple conversation. Clayborn's characters were nuanced and three dimensional and while communication was a factor, it was done so in a very believable way. I loved how they both grew as individuals and as a couple. This was my first Clayborn novel and absolutely will not be my last.

Kirk may always take the crown for most quirky character, but the characters of Kate Clayborn’s Georgie, All Along certainly have their quirks, too. When longtime personal assistant Georgie Mulcahy returns to her hometown, the last thing she expects to find is the onetime town troublemaker and current town hermit staying in her parents’ house. But a call to her endearing but careless parents reveals there’s no way out of her predicament: both Georgie and Levi were told they could stay in the house. Now, as Georgie goes after the dreams she wrote in a diary as a teenager, she has mostly grouchy but surprisingly sweet Levi by her side.

I started and stopped Georgie twice. I just wasn’t connecting with it. But after seeing it all over my insta I finally picked it back up and I’m really glad I did. I loved the themes of going home and I love a grumpy sunshine trope, plus gimme a dog in a story and 😍.

I originally received an ebook copy from Net Galley. I tried 3 different times to read this book but sat it down. Then an audiobook came available and I listened to it. And thank goodness I did! This is a beautiful romance that had me tearing up at one point (which makes it an instant 5 star). I'm so glad I was persistent and finished.

I honestly was not a huge fan of this book, simply because the main character was unrealistic. Manic Pixie Dream Girl came to mind. I feel terrible giving a less than stellar review for this book.
