I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This is a fun and relatable story for kids who want to be brave. The illustrations were really nice.

Very cute story about a little late bloomer frog learning to swim! My kids absolutely loved the pictures. The illustrations are very well done and encourage good conversation as you’re reading. The story is cute but very simple. I think it was more fun for us because we are currently growing our own little tadpoles! Wish there was a little more to the story but for young ones and the excellent illustrations- it was worth the read!

Hop at Swimming Class by Esther van den Berg. I love all the illustrations and words. I cannot wait to see this in book version and not ebooks. Would love to show this book to my granddaughter when it releases.

this story was a really fun one to read and is definitely a good one for a lot of young kids to read if they are nervous about swimming lessons or even anything else, there’s definitely a big lesson about bravery in this book. the illustrations were great and really capture the story well!

I'm a big fan of picture books, but that also means I judge them the hardest. On this one, the illustrations are adorable. I love the colors and the illustration style. Story wise, I get where the author was going, but they just didn't make it there. It didn't flow and I can't see myself reading it for storytime. I hate it, because I like the concept and love the pictures, but it doesn't hit the mark for me.

Thanks to Netgalley and Clavis for a free digital copy.
How does Esther van den Berg keep creating these truly beautiful books?! This one is about a little frog learning to swimmer. But humans learning to swim will also find it relatable and fun!

A book that probably eases some issues young kids might have about going to their first swimming lessons, but feels more geared to providing simple, whimsical entertainment. And it does that, with the help of Hop – the least developed frog in the pond, being trained in staying afloat, treading water and all the rest. It feels like the lesson covers everything in less than an hour, but hey – there is zero level of threat here, even when the diving board joke turns up in all its glory, so you don't ever get the feeling Hop is at risk. Visually this is a delight, with lane dividers being made out of daisy chains, and a snail cropping up here, there and everywhere when least expected. A charming, amenable read - four and a half stars.

This book is a really fun way to introduce kids to swimming lessons and what happens. I chose this book because my son will be starting swimming lessons soon and he loves animals. He loved the frogs and the silly things Hop did. He was laughing and enjoying the book the whole way through!

Thank you so much to Net Galley the opportunity to read and provide my honest review, Wow!! This story about a little tadpole that is now big enough to learn how to swim was seriously the cutest and so relatable right now for our family.
The little tadpole tries his hardest and is not discouraged when he doesn't quite get all the moves right or is the fastest. However by shear luck when he jumped he was the highest and coolest jump.
As we currently have two kids learning how to swim right now it was fun seeing them relate to this story. My youngest (4) immediately noticed the back float and found it hilarious when blue found himself upside down. This little tadpole/frog reminded me so much of my 6 year old son. Where he tries his hardest but he's still learning the coordination, but what he is good at and loves is holding his breath underwater. Typically holding longer than anyone else.
The illustrations in this story is some of the best I have seen. Their bright, crazy super detailed with fun hidden gems. Such as a frog surfing on a fish which my youngest thought was hilarious and was her favorite thing. 5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So excited to receive a digital copy from NetGalley and Clavis Publishing to review.
A work of ART!! If the illustrations don’t catch a readers eye the story of personal growth and perseverance will. Each page is chalk full of adorable images with details. I would encourage readers to stop and take the time to look REALLY close. The illustrations are sure to please readers of all ages.
The storyline follows the main frog Hop, who is kind, curious and brave. Following Hop through his adventure with swimming lessons readers will learn how to handle new experience in life, and the many rewards that come along with new life opportunities.
Artful, growth mindset focused and absolutely adorable!!

Beautiful illustration children book about little frog who learning to swimming. Children will like this book. The story is simple but inspiring bravery to all children to learn to swim. The little druggies share how fun the learning process.
Thanks Netgalley for providing me the copy.

The cover art is what initially drew me into this book. The graphics inside the book are even better. There is so much to look at and it's so cute! The visual stimulation is engaging and the color scheme is pleasant. The word choices and pacing is fun. Also it's good for kids because they might be going to swim classes currently or maybe they are scared or anxious to start swim class - this book is a great way to help ease their fears and connect directly with their life.

Hop at Swimming Class is an adorable adventure of a little tadpole learning how to swim and all the misadventures he gets into along the way. The drawings are astoundingly pretty and give life to all the animals that live in and around a pond. The story is very light and engaging and should hold the attention of any young reader.

Thank you so much to Clavis Publishing and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.
Oh my goodness this is such a precious book, I loved it from start to finish. The illustrations are amazing first off and I adored looking through them and know that they will draw children in instantly with how beautiful they are. The story is really cute and engaging and had great development.
As the tadpoles have now turned to little frogs they must learn to swim, all but Hop lost their tails but that doesn’t stop him from joining in and learning to swim. The frogs all go on a fun swimming adventure learning all the different strokes and ways to swim safely and carefullly.
This was really precious and I know children are going to love this, it’s is also a great book for anyone that is going to be taking children for swimming lessons as it will give them a bit of an insight to what may happen in their classes.
This book is such a perfect picture book, with really cute characters, a great lesson, fun adventure and most importantly beautiful illustrations.

I read this with my god daughter and she loved it. She’s going through swimming lessons right now ! So she kinda understands but she’s still young but she loves it when I read to her. Thank you NetGalley for this arc !

Hop at Swimming Class was a wonderful book about a young frog named Hop who is learning to swim. I loved reading this with my daughter because things didn’t always come easily or naturally to Hop, so it provided a great lesson of practice and perseverance. That it’s okay to not be perfect! The illustrations were beautiful and added to the experience of this story.
Thank you NetGalley and Clavis Publishing for the digital ARC.

Little ones will love this story of how Little Hop learns to swim. The plot is interesting and readers will want to know what will happen next and if Little Hop will be successful in his quest to learn to swim. The illustrations are so pretty and sweet. Great little story for young readers.

This was a really cute read. The illustrations were full color and absolutely beautiful. I enjoyed reading about Hop and his journey as he learns how to swim. I think this is a great book for kids who want to be perfect at everything right away or are nervous to try new things; the themes in this book of doing your best and trying even if you don't do things perfect, and of doing things your own way and learning in your own time, are great for children that might be shy or anxious. As Hop learns to swim, he also learns that it's okay to find things difficult or to struggle. Hop learns that he can be good at swimming in his own way, even if it's a little bit different than everyone else. Overall, I think this is a great summer read for younger children.

Such a sweet book! It had a great message about finding your own way. The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous and the colors are so vibrant. Overall a cute story that I think children will enjoy.

Hop at Swimming Class was such a sweet book! It told the tale of Hop, a little frog learning how to swim. I loved all the different animals depicted. I loved how Hop kept persevering even if he wasn't the biggest or fastest frog. A very heart-warming story. Illustrations were bright and awesome!
