I absolutely love Sandra Brown's books - she never fails to write a winner! I could not put this down.
Rebecca is on life support after a horrible assault. She has Zach as her power of attorney. Her father wants her left alive but what kind of life is that.
Eban, the man accused of the crime is released early. Now if Rebecca were to die he could be retried and sent back to prison

Zach is an ex NFL quarterback and his short lived marriage to Rebecca ended in divorce. Several years later Rebecca is critically injured at a party and Zach remains her medical power of attorney. A role he does not want. The person who went to prison for Rebecca's injury, Eban, is being released after spending very little prison time. Kate Lennon is a prosecuting attorney who wants to see Eban return to prison on murder charges if Rebecca's condition worsens.
I enjoyed the fast pace of this novel. It is part thriller with a romance thrown in as well. I read this very quickly.

This book is one of mystery and intrigue...family dynamics/love and romance. Parts of it are too explicit, but after getting past that...the story does come to a resounding ending. The characters, the main ones, are likable and seem to want to do the right thing...others not so much. This is a talented and gifted author who entertains the reader while writing about real-life happenings...This book was sent to me by Netgalley for review and was a cannot put down novel.
