Legal thriller? Sign me up.
This was brilliant, I was gripped throughout.
The beginning made the book seem rather literary, but I liked that it had an agenda and more substance than the average thriller.
The plot is fabulous though, and that's what sold the book to me. The courtroom drama is what I'm here for! Fans of Steve Cavanagh will enjoy this one.

Fantastic courtroom drama and twists and turns throughout the plot.
Many thanks to BookBuzz and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book wasn't anything like what I was expecting. The court trial for Tommy was disturbing on so many levels I was almost tempted to stop reading, but I'm very glad I didn't. The story as a whole is complicated, twisting, unexpected, and intense. I never in a million years saw the ending coming and that is the highest praise I can think of. I thought sure I knew what was going on and how it was going to work out, but I didn't have a clue. I highly recommend this book with a fairly important caveat. If you are triggered by the sexual abuse of a child (there aren't any graphic scenes) you might want to pass this one up.
I received a review copy from the author via Netgalley and this is my honest opinion.

Thank you to NetGalley, and Mr. Roth, for the opportunity to read and review an early copy of Innocence on Trial.

Tommy Henderson takes the stand to provide crucial testimony in his teacher's sexual assault trial but nothing could have prepared him for the defense attorney's meticulous cross-examination. The jury's verdict has devastating and deadly implications for Tommy as well as for his teacher as they both grapple with the aftermath of the emotionally charged courtroom clash.

I elected to take another stab at reading Innocence on Trial, as I felt it was unfair of me to have left a rather harsh review when I hadn't even finished the book. Besides, I kept reading that the ending was the best part. (I have to admit the twists were downright shocking!)

I found myself liking Innocence On Trial better the second time around. I was inspired by how Tom turned his life around, and I very much enjoyed reading about the relationship he shared with his wife and their son. However! In my opinion, I felt there were too many storylines and that they may have weakened the book. (Such as the Mexican cartel.)

This is the author's debut fiction novel and I don't want to discourage or offend him! I apologize if I did exactly that, yet again!

This book was enjoyable at times. But overall very depressing . Starts out slow , then gets strange. Somewhat twisted ending. Thanks netgalley for copy of book.

Based mainly in Stratford and London, Ontario the book follows Tommy Henderson from an early age (10) where he was possibly abused and had to be a witness in the case against the grown man/abuser. case.

He grows up to be a lawyer, met his future wife and they had one son. This is where the story unfolds as the son has a severe brain disease which may or may not have a cure?

There are a few twists involving raising cash, finding a doctor in Mexico and a rare plant. All of which were slightly bewildering. However, I found it enjoyable and thanks to Net Galley and Indie Publishers for the chance to read and review.

I am not going to share this review with the public... i can't say anything very positive about the book. I found it to be very disjointed and not well written. There were many typographical errors in the copy. There were many spacing errors and it was distracting also. The story did not flow in a logical progression. I think it needs more editing and review before it will be a book that does well.

Beginning with a heart wrenching legal trial, Innocence on Trial by Stephen Roth is his debut fiction novel. When the credibility of ten year old Tommy Henderson’s evidence is shredded by a vastly experienced criminal trial lawyer, his life is forever changed. Its impact is seen over Tom’s lifetime and the choices he must confront are laid bare. With its life changing influence, the basis of this legal fiction saga sits uncomfortably and the final twist only reinforces the misplaced premise that may bear negatively on some readers. If intended to be a tale of the inadequacy of sexual assault trials then unfortunately, it’s a dismal failure. More likely a legal thriller, the narrative fails to deliver on this level as well, so only a three star read rating. With thanks to Independent Publishers and the author, for an uncorrected advanced reader copy for review purposes. As always, the opinions herein are totally my own and freely given.

I received this book through "NetGalley" and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This story is about Tommy Henderson from an early age where he wound up as a witness in a abuse case. It follows him leaving his home at age 16 and beginning a new life in a different Canadian town. It shows how he was able to start anew and able to get married and have his own family.

Discover how he met his future wife, who helped him change his life around and what length he went to save his young son's life. Learn what events that he kept hidden and how everything works out in the end.

This book is definitely worth reading.

This was a very different book for me. I love to read books about lawyers and trials but there was a lot more in this book . I had a hard time getting into it and will admit I skimmed quite a bit. I wanted to give up a lot of the time but hung in there to see what was going to happen and how it ended. The ending was the best part I really was surprised and that was the most intriguing part of the book ! I don’t think I can really recommend this book because I’m not sure my friends would stick it out.
Thank you. Net Galley and the publisher for an ARC of this book for an honest review.
