Susan May Warren knocks it out of the park with this one. I loved this trilogy and can't wait for more exciting adventures from Susie May! Sundown takes all the best parts of this series and ramps up the thrills in this third book!

I mean ... it doesn't get better than Susan May Warren. On a lot of levels.

Her output as an author is utterly amazing (how many books has she released lately?! Oh yeah--a ton haha. #ohdarn). Her ability to weave characters into other series is astounding. #eastereggs And the theological nuggets that always hit me at just the right time--so needed.

This read is, as ever, action packed, with so many feels. I loved the handful of shoutouts to Seattle, and wished some of the restaurants were real so I could go visit them in person! (Although I did get a chuckle out of a reference to "Highway 5" versus _Interstate_ 5.) ;)

I'm super bummed this is the last book in the Sky King Ranch series--but I'm confident it's not a final goodbye to any of its characters. Can't wait to see where they all appear next!

I received an eARC of the book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Absolutely amazing! I loved all the character depth and build of the story. I was kept engaged and intrigued and needing to turn the page.

This is the third and final book in the series, and I strongly recommend reading the first two before grabbing this one or you may be a little confused. Which is what I did. And I can honestly say, It’s always nice to see characters from the previous novels make an appearance and really helps to continue building the world that the author has created. And this is a pretty incredible one that Susan May Warren has brought to us. She has also made them intertwined enough that Taylor has become a major character throughout the novels.

Taylor is certainly not perfect and that’s one of the things I loved most about her. And part of what made her such a great character. She was so real and relatable. She had her own set of issues. And so did Colt. Which is part of what brought them together. Along with the ridiculously intense chemistry between the two of them. I think there is so much great about this book. Great characters, great plot, intense and gripping action, a great romance, and an overall fun adventure of a read!

It's a desperate race against time...

Wow! Susan May Warren sure knows how to finish a series with a bang! Or should I say in a hail of bullets and possibly even more dangerous weaponry? I have been hooked on the Sky King Ranch series from start to finish and Sundown certainly lived up to the expectations I had from the other books.

From Alaska to the Washington Coast to sunny Florida, Sundown is non-stop action and adventure with a dramatic emotional twist. If there is one thing Susan May Warren knows how to do well in this genre it is striking an excellent balance between suspense that feels almost like a thriller and romantic tension that you could cut with a knife. It's that wonderful balance that keeps me coming back for more like the Sky King Ranch series.

I couldn't put Sundown, well, down, even if I had wanted to, which I most certainly didn't. I just had to know where Susan May Warren was taking Colt and Tae next as they, along with the rest of the Sky King Ranch characters and some familiar faces, make wild attempt to save the world from some very determined evil people. Who could ask for more in a good book...?

The Kingston boys are back, this time unraveling the mystery of the beautiful woman who appeared out of the wreckage of a crashed plane on Denali. Taylor Price isn’t telling everything and Colt Kingston is bound and determined that she isn’t going to bring trouble to his family’s doorstep. Even if he is trouble through and through on his own. He has no problem leading the way into the fight, but he can’t quite figure out what that fight is as far as Tae is concerned. This woman who nursed him back from the brink of death, his very own Florence Nightengale, is something else he can’t quite decipher. Also on the list of things he can’t seem to get a grasp on: his role in his mother’s death, his place with his family, and his future with or without Tae.

Now, fans of Susan May Warren can tell you that Colt is going to go through a lot of pain and growth in Sundown. Especially, those who are already familiar with his daddy, Barry Kingston, and the great wisdom and love he has for his children. Also, you know Tae and all her secrets are going to be quite the handful for Colt. Combined elements like those create the perfect storm to break down the barriers that keep him walking wounded and help him begin to heal. Not only is Sundown a thrilling conclusion to the story of the Kingston triplets, but a profound exploration of our own misunderstandings and their tendency to get in the way of following God’s plan and enjoying His blessings.

Thank you to the author and publisher for allowing me a copy to read and review. All opinions expressed here are my own and are completely genuine.

I read this series in the wrong order (I read Sunburst before Sunrise, although I did read #3 last). I actually found Sunrise the hardest book to get into, because there were so many character names being mentioned in the early chapters, and it took me a while to work out who the main characters were, and which names were actually bears or dogs.

Sundown starts pretty much where Sunburst left off. Ranger and are Noemi at Big Sky Ranch with Colt and their Jane Doe, who they have just discovered is Dr Taylor Price, who is somehow connected with the Russian terrorists Dodge and Echo (that’s the heroine, not one of the dogs) fought in Sunrise.

Sundown starts with the premise that Taylor (Tae) is the only person who can prevent a deadly smallpox outbreak because she is the only person to have successfully created a vaccine from an ancient strain the Russians have located. But it’s not a novel about vaccination. It’s a chase novel, as Colt finally reconciles with his brothers and obtains their help to locate the evildoers before they can infect the population with the virus.

I liked the way Sundown built on the plot and character points introduced and developed in the previous two novels, and the way it did a great job of rounding out the unfinished character arcs.

However, I didn’t like the way the timeline kept jumping around. Now, this could be the formatting of the electronic review copy, but the story often moved from one scene to another without any kind of scene break, and the scenes were often showing the same actions from different points of view. Yes, that helped ramp up the tension, but it also meant I had to backtrack several times to figure out which characters were in the scene.

I also thought there were too many flashbacks, to the point where they messed with the tension. As a reader, it felt like every time we got to something fast-paced and exciting, the character stopped think about a formative experience from months or years ago, which slowed the story down. Confession: I actually skimmed a lot of the backstory because I wanted to know what was happening now, not what happened months or years or decades ago.

One of the best features of Christian fiction by Susan May Warren is that it absolutely is Christian fiction.
The main characters – in this case, Colt and Tae – have issues with God that need to be sorted out and worked through, and Warren doesn’t leave the reader in any doubt of the fact that God is the answer. That’s always good to read in Christian fiction (because otherwise it’s not Christian fiction. It’s just fiction with no sex or swearing.)

Overall, Sundown was a solid romantic suspense that those who have read the first two novels in the Sky King Ranch series will want to read to find out about Tae and to see Colt get his happy ending.

Sundown closes out Susan May Warren's Sky King Ranch trilogy in fine fashion. Sunrise told us Dodge Kingston's story, Sunburst Ranger's. Sundown gives us the scoop on the third Kingston brother, Colt.

Tae, the mysterious woman who helped nurse Colt back to health when he returned home from Nigeria seriously injured, is regaining her memories and her voice. The book opens with a bang, as they place themselves in harm's way to try to salvage Tae's backpack from the wrecked plane that brought her to Alaska. She's insistent that it has her research, and she's also looking to prove to the Kingston clan that yes, she did break free from a Russian who kidnapped her, by finding the plane, and hopefully, a body. Colt doesn't know the details of what she's involved with, but he is determined to protect her.

The tension ratchets up when we learn that Tae is a medical researcher, working on a vaccine to protect against an ancient strain of smallpox that the Russians are getting ready to unleash on the world.  Where will they strike? When? Can Tae recreate her vaccine research in time to protect people if the virus gets loose?

The use of a virus that's going to cause a lot of trouble if it gets loose is a timely background. There are plenty of opportunities for heroics from the Kingston brothers, and plenty of bad guys who need a good butt-kickin'. But the story isn't all shoot-em-up action. Tae and Colt are both wrestling with their faith and their feelings, wondering whether the other would be better if they just disappeared back into their old lives. Colt is the kind of man who runs toward the trouble when it starts, always in the thick of things. He isn't convinced that God is really looking out for him, and isn't sure he can find purpose if he isn't actively defending against evil.

Warren focuses not only on the action and suspense, but also the importance of family and faith. The Kingston brothers have had their problems, some bigger than others. But when it comes down to it, they've got each other's backs. Their faith isn't something taken out for show on a Sunday morning. It's down in the nitty gritty, dealing with questions of God's love, relationships, God's purpose for their lives - real issues that any of us may struggle with. Colt and his brothers are a little bit larger than life, and a regular day at my house doesn't look much like some of the situations they find themselves in. But it's nice to be reminded that the God who cares about Colt Kingston, Delta Force tough guy laying it on the line for his country, also cares about me, fighting my way through traffic to go to a job I'm not crazy about.

If you like a story that's chock-full of action, with clean romance and characters that are easy to relate to, and one that brings a touch of "happily ever after" into your everyday routine, you'll love Sundown. Read the whole trilogy (heck, scroll on down and enter to win it!). Susan May Warren may just become one of your new favorite authors. She's certainly one of mine!

This wild ride concludes a dramatic series featuring the Kingston brothers of Alaska. The storyline continues in this gritty action-packed thriller. You can’t help but care about Colt and his relations with his family, but all the danger may keep them separated—perhaps permanently. The author knows how to craft a powerful plot and believable characters, pushing them to the limit. This novel does contain violence, but not overly graphic. After all, the brothers have served in military operations, which prepares them for the biggest assignment of their lives . . . They need to save the world. This book offers a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy, but I didn’t care for it as much as the first two. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley. How do you like your romantic suspense? Do you like it to slowly build in intensity? Or do you like to dive right into the action? If it's the later then you are in for a real treat. This book (and the whole series) definitely hits the ground running.

What a trip this series has been. We started in Alaska at the Sky King Ranch and then moved to Africa with the second installment. Sundown brings us back to the ranch in Alaska but quickly moves us to Florida.

If you've read the first two books you've been introduced to Tae but so much of who she is has been a mystery. Her story has been ongoing in the background throughout the series, but with book three we get to find out all the details. And the details are frightening!

We also get to know the rugged bad boy Colt. We first met him in book two where he was literally getting the snot beat out of him. He returned home to Alaska to recover but trouble followed and recovery had to wait.

This was an intense ending to a fabulous series. In my opinion these are not stand alone books. While each book gives us the story of one of the brothers, there is an underlying story that involves Tae that stretches from book one to book three. It would be such a shame for you to miss the unfolding mystery by skipping the first two books. Treat yourself with all three!

I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.

Intrigue, adventure and romance describes Warren's way of writing and she is very good at it. You can always tell when an author does her research for a novel and this book is no exception. This is the last book in the Sky King Ranch series and we visit previous characters from the other two books. Somehow Warren ties them all together especially into the dangerous scenes showing they are there for one another. Also she brings in faith and trust in God and that is what I look for in a Christian fiction novel. Another great read by a great author.....Thanks to the publisher for allowing me to read and review this e-copy via NetGalley.

Sundown was the first book I read that had been written by this author, and when I was halfway through, I went to Net Galley to get the first book in the series. I wanted to find out more of the story of these three brothers and their amazing exploits around the world.

A lot of the back story was dropped into this one – at times too much in my opinion – but I wanted to know more about these men and women who were on various teams fighting terrorism and crime where ever the fight took them.

In this third, and last, book in the series, we meet Tae as she is rescued after crashing a small plane to escape her former boyfriend who has turned out to be a Russian operative intent on killing her before she can make the antidote to a deadly small pox virus.

Okay. Let’s suspend our disbelief and buy into the fact that she could actually do that. Crash a plane I mean. And meet Tae, Taylor, as a scientist and a woman who has more courage than she ever thought possible. As the story progresses, she comes across as a strong, fascinating character and I liked her enough to put on my Marvel hat and go along for the ride.

All the characters are bigger than life – again a nod to superheroes – and their personal stories are as engaging as the main plot. As the romance between Tae and Colt, the other central character, slowly develops, we’re treated to another look at romance between Naomi and Colt’s brother, Ranger.

The third Kingston brother, Dodge, is also in the story, and the three operatives work together in the dramatic climax that showcases the unique skills each brings to the mission to capture the canisters of the virus before it is released into the world. The brothers are all larger-than-life superheroes of a sort, and Colt tells Tae at one point the quote from George Orwell: “People sleep peacefully in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.”

That is a philosophy that most of the characters in the story who are affiliated with the Anti-Terrorist teams seem to live by. And I’m sure that most people who work in the military ascribe to the philosophy as well. Having to maim and kill other people goes down easier if there is a noble cause motivating the actions.

The author does a nice job of weaving the Christian elements into the main romantic subplots, as all four characters, to varying degrees, turn to God to help them sort out the complications in the relationships.

While I enjoyed the main characters, the action, the plot, and most of the subplots, I thought there were too many scenes that were so cluttered with characters I had a hard time keeping them straight. I wondered if they all needed to be there.

Then there was the issue with changing points of view. In the Kindle version of the book, there was no separation of scenes. There were clear chapter breaks, but no line spaces or anything else to indicate that the POV was changing. That was hard to adjust to, and sometimes the POV would change only to repeat a bit of conversation that had already been said in an earlier scene.

Still, I liked Tae and Colt, and the supporting cast, enough to stay with the story, and I recommend the book to readers who like a tense romantic suspense story.

I have not read a Susan Warren book in awhile; so I was thrilled to see this and picked it up. I love action packed stories and this one didn’t disappoint. While in Alaska, Colt runs across Tae and know there is more to the story. As the people who are chasing her catch up to her, she flees. Can Tae trust colt to keep her safe or will her fear destroy the one good thing in her life.

I have really enjoyed this series about triplet brothers, their father, and their loves and all that entails. This is Colt's story. He is the reckless one, the one that runs to danger not from it as he has consistently showed us throughout this series.

This is also Taylor's story. In the previous books she was rescued after a plane crash and pretended she could not speak. However, Colt has seen through her and the danger she was keeping secret and hiding from has come to the Sky King Ranch's doorstep. This is out of her hands now as she finds out, especially now that governments are involved as this has reached global proportions. She might just need to literally help save the world.

Government conspiracies, infectious diseases, familial bonds, romantic love, this book had all of that and was an edge of your seat thriller. I warn you though, once you start this story you might just forget about real life for a while, I did.

I received a copy of this novel from Revell Publishing through Interviews and Reviews. I was not required to give a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.

Former Delta Operative Colt Kingston has returned to the family ranch in Alaska to recuperate from injuries incurred when he was tortured. Caring for him is the mysterious Tae (Taylor). When he discovers she is known to a Russian mob figure, he wants answers. Tae reveals who she is and that she is being hunted and Colt becomes determined to protect her. In the meantime, Tae is not the only one in danger. Colt and his family find themselves threatened as well.

The author brings to readers a fascinating and terrifying plot. The well-defined characters have strong voices, and their skills are impressive. Colt and Tae are intriguing protagonists in that professionally they are very accomplished, but not so much when it comes to their personal relationships. So when a mutual attraction grows, things become complicated. The story moves very quickly and is packed with romance, family and much action. Engrossing and exciting, the book is well worth reading. Highly recommended. This is the third book in the Sky King Ranch Series, and I found that it can be read as a stand-alone book.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Book #3 in the Sky King Ranch series. This author is new to me and I wish I had found her sooner. It's so refreshing to read a romance that doesn't make you blush. This was a spiritual, faith-based novel but contained lots of military action. The characters in this book - both male and female - are warriors, each with their own set of skills and from all branches of the military. I recommend this one and plan to go back a read the previous books in the series.

Sundown
Susan May Warren
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Former Delta Operative Colt Kingston is certain that there's more to Tae than meets the eye. While recuperating at his father's Sky King Ranch, he's become convinced that she is a troubled and extremely smart woman.

As her story of the plane crash that brought her to his family's home proves true, he still finds parts of her account too incredible to believe. When the men who are hunting her threaten Sky King Ranch, Tae tries to disappear along with her secrets.

This is the third book in Warren’s Sky King Ranch series. We learn more about the brother who was kidnapped by terrorists in Nigeria with his now sister-in-law, Noemi. Colt Kingston has always been willing to take chances and lay his life on the line. Up until now, his body has never failed him; however, the repeated beatings in Nigeria have created an undetected heart condition. The three Kingston brothers must work together to prevent a national threat while restoring their family relationships, and demonstrating true strength is not found in individual physical endurance but in the familial ties that bind them together. Colt is a strong character that moves the story forward as he willingly lays everything on the line for his country, his family, and the woman he loves.

We received an advance copy from the publisher. This is our honest review.

It was great to get back out to Sky King Ranch and all the previous characters.
Who is Tae that is taking care of the Kingston triplets father at the ranch? Colt is suspicious about her, while also being attracted to her. Makes for a good story, huh?
Russian bad guys in this story. Lots of action and suspense. Add, in romance and what more could you want?
I was happy that this book had forgiveness and relationship restored between the brothers.
If you enjoy thrilling suspense, action, romance and Christian fiction, you'll enjoy this one!
I was given and advanced copy by the publisher, Revell through NetGalley. I was under no obligation to write a positive review.

Sundown
Sky King Ranch #3
By Susan May Warren

Colt is hurting. His recovery from the beating is taking much longer than he'd like, but he's a Kingston and former military. But when he gets the chance to be a hero, he's not about to turn down the opportunity.

Taylor "Tae" Price is either the world's biggest liar or a woman with some serious trouble following her. And with what she claims, Colt would rather she be a liar, but he wants to believe her.

Tae is running from the people who want her dead, or maybe they just want her in their custody. She's not really sure - all she knows is they have the power to bring the world to an end.

Yup, Colt and the Kingston clan have just landed themselves into a whole mess of trouble. And the bad guys mean business, and they won't be stopped. But the Kingston brothers being who they are, won't let that get in their way. But this time, they just might not be able to walk away.

This book continues the thread that has run throughout the series (Sunrise and Sunburst), adding to the mysterious goings-on that has plagued the rural Alaskan region that the Kingston's call home. A Russian threat, an attack in Africa, a mysterious plague - it all comes together in an action-packed romantic conclusion.

This is the concluding book in the series, and I think the series was perfectly named as it takes the reader through the day with the individual titles. The Kingston boys have finally all come home, but they are not yet fully healed, and this book takes us further into their journey. But this journey has been a long time coming and, in Colt's case, more than a decade. But how do you heal from a broken heart while you are trying to save the world? Well, you're just going to have to find out for yourself. And this is one series that reading all the books in order is a must!

I was provided a copy of the book with no expectations all thoughts are my own.
