This is an action-packed, dangerous conclusion to this series and the race is on to save the world. Colt embodies the quote, “People sleep peaceably in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf” (location 2398). He’s always ready to volunteer to do the dangerous thing with no regard to his own safety. For Tae who works in a sterile, controlled manner and environment, it’s a big adjustment. Still they are forced to work together and to rely on each other.

I love it when you get to know someone in a prior book and then they have a whole book focusing on them while still keeping prior characters involved too. Warren does a great job with this. I loved seeing the brothers all together. It felt fitting. This is a book of redemption and second chances and forgiveness and reconciliation. It was intense and poignant and fast paced. It was a great read.

It is written well and has a lot of memorable lines. “Everybody has a right to be stupid, but some people abuse the privilege” (location 4556). That made me laugh. This book was enjoyable on every level. I’d highly recommend it.

Thank you to Revell for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Wow, what a series! Sky King Ranch Trilogy by Susan May Warren has just been getting more suspenseful by the page of every book. Now with the third book, Sundown, it all comes together. Without meaning to do so the three brothers have come full circle with their lives and loves intersecting in ways that did not seem possible. From the first book until the third their lives have become interwoven and dangerous at an international level so that this is one exciting conclusion. This series clearly shows without God at work in lives there is no vision and even less hope in this world

While Colt and Tae are at the heart of this book all the family is involved. Compelling characters with romantic chemistry that feels genuine and progresses naturally along with great development of a wonderful suspenseful plot. This is a perfect read. I highly recommend Sundown and this series. Also recommend that the books be read in order. This is one great Christian Romance Suspense series.

The publisher through Net Galley provided a digital ARC. I have voluntarily decided to read and review, giving my personal opinions and thoughts.

This is what happens when I'm bored and haven't been on NetGalley for a while: I request the third book in a series when I haven't read the first two. Not smart. And it's a Clean Romance, not a genre I have had a lot of luck with. I only ask that the plot is great and the characters likeable, that's not much to ask. I went back and read the other two books in this series and I'm very glad I did, otherwise I would have been totally lost. What we have here is a ripped from the headlines plot. Instead of Covid we have a deadly strain of smallpox and instead of China being the baddie, it's Russia. Not a bad plot, but all the melodrama, endless dwelling on emotion and over the top angst was just too much to save what could have been a pretty good suspense story. I will have to give a star for the action scenes, they were great. This is a difficult book for me to put a rating to. I loved parts of it, and I didn't like parts of it.

When former Delta Operative Colt Kingston wakes up at his family ranch in Alaska, the sight that greets him makes him think he has died and gone to Heaven. But the Florence Nightingale tending his wounds has deep, dark secrets that bring danger to his family. Her story is so farfetched as to not be believed, but it is true and not just his family, but the whole world is in danger and only his beautiful Flo has the ability to save it, if he can keep her alive, that is.

Tae knows that a lot is riding on her, and she isn't going to be the reason anyone else dies. The Russian Mafa thugs searching for her have found her, but the Kingston brothers were able to defeat them, this time. Now it's time to go, alone. But for one tenacious Kingston brother, a promise is a promise and Colt is determined that nothing is going to happen to Tae as she attempts to save the world. But what Colt and Tae don't realize: They are not in control - God is in control both of the situation they find themselves in and of their lives.
3 1/2-Stars

Warren hits it out of the park once again with Sundown to conclude a fantastic series readers will love!

Once thing Colt Kingston is best at is spotting someone trying to lie to him. As a former Delta Operative, he has many skills and has used them in many different dangerous situations. He is suspicious of Tae, the woman taking care of his father at Sky King Ranch. His suspicions of her, up until men come looking for her at the ranch. The secrets she holds go much deeper than Colt would have predicted when he finds out she knows the antidote to a plague that could threaten the whole world. Colt is going to have to work with his brothers to protect both Tae and the rest of the country.

Susan May Warren is a master with Romantic Suspense and blows it out of the park with the conclusion to the fantastic Sky King Ranch Book. These characters are fun, strong, and full of all the action you would want from a great romantic suspense read. The character of Colt is probably my favorite of all the Kingston brothers, just the way his story unfolded made the story click in the best way for me. Tae had so much intrigue and mystery that I loved how her story played out as well. With these two as main characters, the pages of this book fly. To be honest, there isn’t much I didn’t like about this story, it was a classic Susan May Warren Romantic Suspense making for a great weekend read. If you are a fan of her writing or just love romantic suspense novels, I would highly recommend this series.

I received a complimentary copy of this title from the publisher. The views and opinions expressed within are my own.

This was overall not a bad book, but personally I thought the other 2 in the series were better.

What I liked

The faith is so strong and pivotal to the series, just like in the previous books. Some of the characters really struggle with forgiveness, both to give forgiveness and to receive it.

The action, while at times questionable, was non-stop and full of that Susie May flavour with high stakes that keep you glued to the pages desperate to find out the ending. I read it in less than two hours. I couldn't stop!

And I love the familial aspect of this story, much like her other books.

A warning though, for those who haven't read the other books in the series. You will be lost and completely spoil the other 2 books.

What I Didn't Enjoy

I had to suspend belief so often in this story. It just became unrealistic. With not one but two characters suffering medical maladies, there's just no way even the toughest guy struggling would or should've been allowed to hold such prominent roles in the action. Additionally, Tae was honestly irritating with her save the world complex. She seemed to believe she was the only person who could develop this a lifesaving cure.

And on a personal note, I'm just over vaccines and viruses and global pandemics. I imagine this book was written before all of that craziness so, if so, I can't fault the author for that timing. It did impact my reading experience though.

And on the note of global pandemics, for a virus that would threaten the entire world, I didn't feel the urgency or just how big of a deal this was in the story. This was probably due to how many differing POVs were included, as well as a major crossover storyline given to characters from a previous book. I actually would have preferred that storyline and those characters be given a longer book of their own, rather than continuing it across another character's book. In the end we have several major storylines across many characters with limited space to carry out the story. I guess I'd been really looking forward to Colt's story so much, I felt kinda cheated that over a third of his story is given to other characters.

I did enjoy the ending. It surprised me but I can't say why because... spoilers! But I thought it was a lovely way to end out the series.

Colt knows that Tae, the mysterious woman who was recently found injured at the ranch, is hiding things, but he could never have guessed how big those secrets were. When the truth finally comes to light, the family finds themselves in a race against a terrorist group who plans to release a deadly virus. Can they find and stop the criminals in time? And if Colt and Tae survive the encounter, what then? There's an undeniable attraction between them, but can Colt accept that he is worth saving?

An amazing end to the series (best read as part of the series, because they're all tied together so closely)! While we focus mostly on Colt (and Tae), Dodge and Ranger each have their part to play, and it wraps up their stories beautifully too. Some of Colt's attitudes are heart-rending, and seeing him overcome them was inspiring. The suspense is also well managed - not too much just one thing after another, but keeping things moving. I'm very sorry to see the end of this series but excited to see what the author will write next. Highly recommended.

Note that I received a complimentary copy of the book from NetGalley. I was not required to write a positive review and this is my considered opinion of the book.

4.5 stars, rounded up

I knew Colt's story be full of hard things but oh, I think he's my favorite Kingston brother. I enjoyed watching Colt find his way in this book. He had to recognize that his personality was not a flaw, but a gift that God had given him to help others.

And Taylor was the perfect woman for him though she was not without issues.  She had to learn that she wasn't in control and needed to let go and let God have His way.

Readers will be reminded that no one is beyond God's love.  Each of us is as valuable as the next person, none of us were created "less than". Also, the plan God has for your life is bigger than any plan you could ever make for yourself.

Colt and Tae's story is complete in this book though there are threads that began in Sunrise (book one in the Sky King Ranch series). Can you read Sundown as a standalone? Sure, but the story is so much more than what happens in this book--you may want to read them all and it's a good series, you will enjoy reading the trilogy.

Sundown takes the thread that has been running through the Sky King Ranch trilogy (and several other series) and brings it to a stunning conclusion.

I loved this last book in this series. I love that every main character from the first two books was in this book. I love all the action and the romance. I enjoyed how inspirational and emotional this story was. I also loved the suspense. I received a copy of this book from the publisher for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

I read this while I was sick so reviewing it is a little more difficult than the other books in the series. (My apologies to the author)
It continues the mystery threaded through the first two books, now through the eyes of daredevil Colt, and we get to see what experiences from his past made him that way. His story is sweet and heartbreaking. I kept forgetting Taylor was supposed to be a doctor since she acted younger, but she's also used to living alone and then went through recent trauma.
Noemi and Taylor have similar struggles being in love with men who live in the line of fire, and the Kingston brothers have to make decisions about whether to set their dangerous lives aside for love or whether they have a higher calling to live out. It was an interesting discussion about how God calls us to live and where our duty is.
Noemi received the surprise of her life, and had a major POV even though this wasn't technically her book. I think I'd prefer the author's books to be longer if she's going to incorporate more than the two main POVs (I've felt this way in other books of hers too) but I do like her books being about the whole family. I'd just prefer more rounded character development in that case since there's so many moving parts (Ranger's health issues, for one).
Lots of familiar faces show up for the final showdown. Overall a satisfying SMW, par for the course from her.

I read an ecopy from Netgalley and the publisher, but all opinions are my own.

CONSUMMATE CONCLUSION!

I thoroughly enjoy Susan May Warren’s Romantic Suspense Series. I always look forward to her next release. Her latest release, Sundown (Sky King Ranch Book 3), is the consummate conclusion of this brilliant series. I am sad to see it come to an end. Warren sends it off by saving the most intense story for the last. (If you have read the first two books, you are wondering how could this book possibly be more intense than either of them. It is!) Her characters are realistic and relatable, her descriptions make you feel as if you see the setting and are in on the action, and her plot is heart-stopping! This could be read as a stand-alone but you would certainly miss out on much of the story. I recommend reading the series in sequential order. You will be glad you did!

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book by Revell & NetGalley. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence. I thoroughly enjoy Susan May Warren’s Romantic Suspense Series.

The author has written many novels, but I believe this one might be her best yet! What a ride! An excellent thriller by one of the Christian authors, but anyone of any religion would enjoy the twists and turns and the brilliant original plot. Wonderful, captivating writing gives this novel the depth and ability to pull in any reader. I also really liked the characters and were rooting for them the whole way through! I highly recommend this Ms. Warren and all of her other books I have read have been nothing less than fantastic. She is definitely an auto-buy author for me, and I can't wait to own this novel in print.

"Bravery isn't the absence of fear. It's doing what you must do, despite the fear."

Wow, the conclusion of the Sky King Ranch is a doozy. Overflowing with adrenaline, unbelievable action, heart-pounding plot twists, incredible faith lessons, and tender romance, Colt and Tae's story will enchant you from the first page. From the frozen beauty of Alaska to warm humidity of Florida, you'll feel like you're right there with them as the characters work against the clock to find and neutralize a bioweapon.

I loved Tae's logical, scientific mind that complimented Colt's impulsive, creative spirit. Their shared goal to make a difference in the world by saving lives bound them together despite their differences. Ranger and Noemi had voices in this story as well; their life together as a married couple facing so many challenges was a tear-jerker but also a heart-warmer. Seeing the Caleb Group again, along with references to some of the Montana Marshalls, was so much fun. Jones, Inc. group had a big presence in the story and I'm hoping to see more of the guys from the group in future Susan May Warren's books. The beauty of redemption and forgiveness is displayed in full color as the Kingston triplets finally all come home.

You can't go wrong with a Susan May Warren novel. She consistently delivers mind-blowing romantic suspense filled with memorable and lovable characters. I can't wait for her next series! I received the book from the publisher via NetGalley and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.

Sundown by Susan May Warren delivers an outstanding conclusion to her Sky King Ranch series with heart-pounding, non-stop adventure. In the pages of Sundown Ms. Warren brings her readers to the edge of their seat with the intricate, complex, and constantly escalating plot and danger. Be prepared for some almost impossible obstacles and threats for the characters to overcome in this book and don't expect to be able to put down this excellent book!

Sundown delves into the story of the third Kingston triplet and former Delta Operative, Colt Kingston, as he tries to discover the truths from the lies of Tae, the woman his family rescued. Colt and Tae seem to keep butting heads, yet are thrown together by Colt's almost unconscious duty to protect and defend others. Tae's story of being the sole survivor of a plane crash, a near genius scientist with threats against her, and an almost end-of-the-world biological weapon sounds too crazy to be the truth. As Colt and his family look into Tae's claims, they fear that whoever is after Tae now has Sky King Ranch and the Kingston family in their sights. Can Colt and Tae work together to find the truth? Will they be able to trust each other enough to keep each other alive and informed of the dangers surrounding them? Can Tae use her experience and expertise to prevent a terrible outbreak and death toll? Read Sundown to discover for yourself!

I truly enjoyed Sundown for many reasons including the action, adventure, faith, family, and other genuine themes; however, I also greatly appreciated this book because of how it brought all of the brothers together and gave the reader a glimpse of the characters from each of the previous books in the series. I also appreciated how each brother struggled with his own difficulties and scars and how Ms. Warren brought each one back to faith in God and restored relationships with family and friends. I truly enjoyed the humor and strength that each of the main characters displayed as well as the teamwork and commitment that the Kingston family evidenced. I absolutely loved this entire series by Ms. Warren.

I have appreciated how Ms. Warren ties in the forgiveness and redemption of God throughout her books; however, I was struck by how clearly and cleverly Ms. Warren brought her characters in Sundown to experience God's goodness, forgiveness, and redemption. I appreciated how Ms. Warren brought her characters to experience a second chance in life and learn to live with hope, courage, and love despite the trials, fears, and attacks that come their way. I love how Ms. Warren ties in such life lessons while also bringing her readers on an adrenalin-filled adventure. I very clearly enjoyed Sundown and would highly recommend it. I hope that you have the opportunity to read this book and enjoy it as much as I have. Happy readings!

An exciting, action-packed tale. A bit of romance along the way also. I did tire of the faith related advice. I do realize this is a Christian based series, but I felt as if some of it was filler and unnecessary to the story. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

The conclusion to the Sky King Ranch series brings back many characters from previous novels. It would have been helpful to have a list of characters with brief descriptions. The triplets are know for their high adventure and this story is not different. I enjoyed the previous two more than this one as I found this story to jump all over the place and became unrealistic. Readers who enjoy high adventure, intrigue, bio chemical warfare and Russian spies will have quite the adventure in this read.

This book heavily features all Kingston men. . It's a wild ride, Action Packed, nonstop action. While it can be read as a stand-alone I suggest you won’t want to miss the previous books and get to know recurring characters, or you'll be a little lost.

I had a hard time visualizing Tae as a competent doctor - she didn’t often use common sense, and she thinks only her vaccine will save the world, unrealistic confidence, Colt is a complex, adrenaline junkie and flawed character. personally, the plot mentions viruses and vaccines and I was not ready for it. they both have issues that need to be let go of before they can trust each other and God. Forgiveness and redemption are the themes of the story.

If you love Christian fiction, adventure, suspense, nonstop action, and romance this is for you.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

"Sundown" is a Christian romantic suspense. It's the third book in a series and basically continued the stories of all three brothers, with a focus on Colt. Frankly, this was just a little too close to reality for me to enjoy it. Russian thugs were going to release an ancient strain of smallpox to start a pandemic, and the old smallpox vaccines wouldn't work against it. Tae had developed a promising vaccine, but it hadn't been tested on humans. Now, all of her notes and work have been destroyed. The Russians intend to kill her before she can reproduce it. Colt vowed to protect her, but he's still recovering from his previous injuries so characters from previous novels all get in on saving the world.

Tae was so certain that her vaccine was the only way to save the world that she didn't even consider that other things might get the job done. I understand it's her focus, but it drove me nuts. She knew vaccines usually take years of work and safety studies, but she didn't seem to think they really needed to do that with HER vaccine. She just seemed unrealistically confident. The author did somewhat redeem this by having the three brothers and Tae all learn that saving the world didn't depend solely on their abilities.

The suspense stayed high throughout the story as they battled to survive attacks and stop the terrorists. The characters were complex, realistic people, and I cared about what happened to them. They learned to trust God with their future. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this suspenseful novel.

Amazing finish!

I loved this series following the Kingston triplets. Amazing settings and wonderful characters. Susan May Warren is always a Must Read, and I love how she brings together characters from other book series.

This series definitely brought an adrenaline rush with a thrill ride from start to finish. I can't pick a favorite from this series because all three stories are amazing!
