Sundown is book 3 of the Sky King Ranch series by Susan May Warren. All three books, Sunrise, Sunburst and Sundown, focus on the Kingston Triplets, Dodge, Range and Colt. The brothers all have military backgrounds but Colt is the no-fear, walk into danger kind of guy that loves adventure. I enjoy that all the brothers and many other characters from Susan’s other books were in this story.
Colt meets Flo, an interesting woman with many secrets, when he is forced to come home to recovery from some bad injuries. Colt recognizes instantly that Flo, who is really Tae Price, is hiding some important information from him and his family. Colt will stop at nothing to find out who she really is and what she is hiding. As Tae nurses Colt back to health, and he starts to unravel some of her secrets, he promises to help her and take care of her, even if she says she doesn’t need him to.
There are parts of this story that were hard for me to read and think about but I love how the author, Susan, shares God’s love and strength throughout the story.
If you enjoy fast-paced, full of action, suspense and romance, then your will enjoy this book.
Thank you, NetGalley and Revell Publishing, for allowing me to read and review this story with my own opinions.

I am never disappointed in a Susan May Warren novel.
This book was fantastic! Ioved every heart racing second. It's action packed. The characters are always my favorite littery characters because they are so believable, yet so strong and heroic.

An intrepid hero and a guarded heroine feature in “Sundown”, by Susan May Warren (Revell), a romantic suspense adventure involving a dangerous virus and criminals set to jeopardize the whole world with an apocalyptic threat.
Colt and Tae reconnect in this last installment of the “Sky King Ranch” series and the attraction grows as each of them deal with their personal ghosts and fears.
Both try to tune down a bit the intensity of the feelings between them because of their own personality traits; Colt’s overconfidence and even recklessness in the field contrasts with the fear of giving in to emotions and love. Tae is wary because of her own family history.
While dealing with the plague threat, each showing their expertise and competence, Colt and Tae also embark on a journey to be more accepting of their own flaws and less afraid of risking their hearts.
Colt is such a wounded character, a charmer hiding a lot of pain, and incapable of forgiving himself, deliberately estranged from his family for ten years, living sometimes as his life didn’t matter to him. Yet, he’s so caring and protective.
I ached for this tough warrior with a heart of gold and a tendency to throw himself at danger, seeing himself as less than his "golden brothers".
Tae is a wonderful heroine, she wants to protect Colt and is aware of how much he went through despite his tendency to minimize or trying to divert attentions from his issues.
I liked how the dimensions that make her a good scientist also translate to her personal life, for example her tendency to overanalyze everything.
I also appreciated that the romance is slow and even a bit difficult; Tae and Colt are friends while the attraction is simmering and they have to deal with dangerous situations.
I loved meeting again the other twins, Dodge and Ranger. Seeing Ranger dealing with his sight issues and the loving relationship with Noemi was wonderful.
I felt the author did a great job giving Ranger some closure in terms of his professional future in this story, and it worked in such a satisfying way for me, as a reader.
The job offer by Ham at Jones, Inc, is adequate to Ranger’s and not depending on sight, and a sure way to boost his confidence back.
I also loved the family and friends interactions, the strong ties, the healing, forgiving and moving on without resentment.
On the less positive side, I felt Colt ignoring his symptoms was too reckless and unexpected in a former Delta Force operator.
I also felt the religious dimensions sometimes were inserted in an artificial way.
Great end to the series, I’m going to miss this people.

This book was packed with action from the first page! Colt is recovered from his injuries in the previous mission and Tae finally comes clean about what brought her to Alaska. The world is in danger of facing an ancient smallpox plague that has been turned into a bioweapon and only she can stop it, with some help from Colt and his brothers. I enjoyed getting to peak more into the lives of the other brothers and various members of Ham's team that have come up in previous books. If you enjoy romantic suspense I recommend giving this one a try! It was a nice wrap up to the series.
I received a free copy from NETGALLEY. I was not required to post a positive review.

"Maybe you just say yes to the doors God opens."

Sundown is a riveting end to an excellent series by Susan May Warren. I thoroughly enjoyed this trio of books about the Kingston brothers, their service to the country, their loves and mending of their family bonds. Colt, the third and wildest member of Barry Kingston's triplets has come home to heal after a dangerous assignment.
The mysterious "Flo" has been by his side helping during the recovery and was discovered to be Dr. Taylor "Tae" Price who has been caring for his father. She has a wild story to tell.
This all leads to one intense plot with the potential for a huge disaster if Colt, Tae and a group including his heroic brothers can't figure out what is really going on. One that is hard to believe.
This is an emotion filled story that shows that the past, even childhood can affect a person's entire life. I appreciate the wonderful job the author does in demonstrating the commitment and dedication of military men (former) in the characters of Colt, Dodge and Ranger. She also brings the beauty of loving relationships and strong women who can match these men. Throughout the series Warren show the abiding faith in God that carries the Kingston family forward through happy and difficult times.
I want to thank the author, publisher and NetGalley for my advanced reader's copy of this book. These are my own unsolicited reactions and opinion of the book. I feel it is best to read the series in its' order and entirety to appreciate the excellent story throughout. I love the ending! I love the series.

Sundown by Susan May Warren is the third and final installment of her Sky King Ranch series. It is Colt’s and Tae’s story with a lot of suspense, mystery, and romance. Tae has been working on a vaccine for an ancient strain of smallpox that has been discovered. Russian bioterrorists want to use the virus to kill off large numbers of people. With Colt along with his brothers’s help, they race against time to stop the terrorists. There are a lot of twists and turns in the book making it hard to put down. It is a fabulous culmination of the trilogy! I always enjoy Susan May Warren’s books and this one was no different. I recommend her stories for good romantic thrillers!

Thanks to Netgalley and Revell for allowing me the opportunity to read and review this new book.

At times, the reader wonders what next? Again and again…this is not a story that is easily discerned…the outcome…be surprised…enjoy…the story does move slowly at times.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
Tae and Colt have an instant attraction but both feel their pasts and present circumstances prevent them from being together.
As they pursue answers and solutions to a global problem they have little time to create a vaccine to save the world. Can they stop the spread of something that could wipe out tons of people and still live to see their relationship through?

I have enjoyed the previous books from Susan May Warren’s Sky King Ranch series and was excited to read Sundown. I was not disappointed. I thought it was great. It was full of mystery, action, suspense, adventure and romance. Everything I love to read in a book. It was great!

I am giving Sundown five stars. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy reading clean romantic suspense.

I received a paperback advanced reader copy of Sundown from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

In this 3rd book in the Sky King Ranch series, Former Delta Operative Colt Kingston is featured. He is one of three brothers who were in different branches of military special ops. He is helping Tae, a biologist who is now on the run after Russian agents tried to kill her. She is one of two people who were working on a vaccine for an ancient form of smallpox which evil folks are trying to kill off the world population with. As with all the books in this series there is enough suspense and action to satisfy the most dedicated fan. Susan May Warren always has me waiting impatiently for the next book she writes!

I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my own honest opinion.

Fantastic Read.
I couldn't get enough of this book! This is the third installment and finale of the series. It can be read as a standalone. Tae and Colt are brought together over Colt's nearly life-ending injuries. With Tae's past chasing her, Colt doesn't hesitate to jump into the mix. In a race against time, can the two save the world and find love at the same time? This is such a wonderful book. I loved how Colt and Tae fought everything for each other. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone.

An exciting conclusion to the Sky King Ranch series! With the COVID pandemic, it's easy enough to see how the world could be threatened by a virus and fun to watch Colt and Tae take it down.

One criticism: Warren has decided to make a couple of secret government teams in which she places almost every single character she's ever written about. This sort of now feels like I need a flow chart to keep them all straight and means that so many things are easy and smooth for the characters. I've sort of just started ignoring all those people's backstory and pretending they are just random background stormtroopers or something.

This is a read you will not want to put down. Suspense and adventure keep you guessing.
Bio weapon attacks are no longer a far fetched idea. This story mirrors many facets of how Covid went down, except Covid is not nearly as deadly. Covid was handled terribly, in my opinion. We saw firsthand how fear and propaganda can cripple entire nations.
But there are great reminders in this story. God is in control and we just need to be faithful to do the task He has for each of us. In the end, evil will be defeated.

Sundown by Susan May Warren hits the ground running and doesn't let up until the Kingston brothers have come to the rescue and stopped bioterrorists from releasing poison into the world. It's a wild ride that will have readers shocked and holding their breath at every turn!

Colt Kingston has a no holds barred attitude when it comes to protecting Tae from her enemies who are trying to keep her from making a vaccine to stop their evil plan. He's still recovering from almost losing his life in Nigeria, but he just keeps getting back up to go another round. In Tae's words, "he was a solid, muscled package of get it done." Colt's quoting of George Orwell sums up his philosophy and life mission pretty well, "People sleep peacefully in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."

I always enjoy how Susan May Warren builds community in her stories through relationships with family and friends. Having said that, I will say there are more returning characters showing up in this book than I've ever read in any other of Warren's books. Easily more than a dozen from previous books that had me scrambling to remember each book they were in.

Sundown features an abundance of scientific medical data and military missions that take center stage in the story at times. The level of violence also felt like it had moved the romantic adventure suspense into more of a military genre.
Warren always has a firm foundation of dependence on God as the cornerstone of her stories. "You must trust in God, in his victory. And in his goodness, even in the face of defeat. In fact, it is God's goodness in us that even desires to fight evil. Without him, we would be helpless."

All in all, I did enjoy Sundown and the resolution of the Kingston family's issues in the epilogue was well done.
"With every sundown came a new morning. Redemption. Hope." I appreciate Revell Publishing making a copy of Sundon available for review. All thoughts and opinions are my very own.

"Sundown" is the third novel in the "Sky King Ranch" series by Susan May Warren. Having read one of the previous books in this series, I was excited to finish it with this book. "Sundown" centers around Colt, a former Delta operative who is tasked with protecting Tae, whose plane has been downed and found with dead bodies inside. While Colt does his best to figure out what is true about Tae, feelings begin to develop.

I enjoyed the faith aspects of this novel, however the storyline felt a bit unrealistic at times. I also would have liked more chemistry between the two main characters. I found myself skipping through some portions of the story because it was getting a little bogged down. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Is her story true it sure didn’t sound like it. Things went from finding the plane to something even worse. It now threatens the country and the Sky Ranch three brothers are now involved. A gripping plot and good ending to this series.Given ARC by Net Galley and Revell for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

This latest story takes the reader back to the Sky King Ranch and the story of the last Kingston triplet, former Delta Force Operative, Colt Kingston. It’s also where newcomer Tae, is taking care of Colt’s father.
A woman Colt is not sure of and one that is keeping secrets.
I have to make a few confessions. One, I have not read the previous stories and feel I was missing important information. Especially with the numerous characters of those stories making an appearance, leaving me at a loss.
Also, I didn’t feel a connection between Tae and Colt, something I was hoping to get.
On the positive side, I enjoyed and appreciate the Christian aspect of the story.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

I feel like I've been waiting forever for Colt and Tae's story. This was a great book to end the series on. It wrapped up the whole families storyline perfectly. I think I'm going to go back and reread the series rather soon.

This series has been a thrill ride and this book was packed full of action and danger. From the previous book I knew that Colt was an adrenaline junkie and he definitely lived up to the hype. The plot was fast moving and there were plenty of intense moments. This book heavily featured all of the Kingston men. The reader switches from different POVs while still tackling the over arching plot, I do wish it had been a little more centrally focused on Colt, but it was nice to get more from Doge and Ranger’s perspectives. I did not connect with Tae at all. I had a hard time visualizing her as a competent and capable doctor who had the skill set to create a life saving vaccine. She was emotional, didn’t often use common sense, and I just didn’t think she and Colt had any chemistry.
About halfway through this book I began to struggle with it. The plot became super unrealistic as multiple characters from previous books just pop up to help. Without giving spoilers I can just say that the amount of dangerous situations was a bit over the top for my taste and the book took a turn that I was hoping it would not. Personally I’m ready to move on from plots that heavily feature mentions of infectious diseases, vaccines, and bio weapons. Too soon kids, too soon. There were several long action scenes that were detailed and I got bogged down in the descriptions. The conclusion wrapped everything up nicely however and I am a sucker for a happy ending, especially in a series.

Sundown is the third and final story in the Sky King Ranch trilogy which focuses on fraternal triplets Colt, Dodge, and Ranger. This story focuses on Colt and Tae, but Dodge and Ranger also have prominent roles, which was nice.

I really liked the start of this story. It was interesting and pretty action packed. As the story progressed, I felt like things became too fantastical, so it was kind of hard for me to remain completely invested in the story. I really struggled to believe that someone with macular degeneration and someone with a major heart issue would be allowed to play such prominent roles in the scenario that was set up in this story. That being said, it was full of action, romance and the mending of relationships.

While this story was not my favorite of the series, I think most people will enjoy it with all the fast paced action and romance.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
