Thanks to netgalley & the publisher for an e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review!
This was a fun, sweet and silly rom-com. I loved the whole premise of the book, and it being set through ten days on a tour of England. I actually enjoyed the whole audiobook narrator plot, although the obsession did go a little far, I thought it was a nice touch considering Gigi was into books!
I thought the side characters were done really well too, I liked how we got to see little glimpses of them and they were developed well. At points I was more interested in them than Gigi, her character felt almost a little too forced? But by the end I did grow to like her!

I adored this book. There was something just so magical about this tour group and setting. It made me feel like I was there and made me vividly remember my bus tour through Ireland. I loved how the romance between Gigi and Taj developed, especially how Gigi resolved her original feelings and need for a full circle moment. I was also awestruck by how well developed the side characters were. They felt like real people with their own motivations, not just people there to serve the main character. I would definitely love to go on a tour with the group and highly recommend this read when it comes out!

I wasn't sure about this book when I realized she goes on a tour to meet a man because she likes his voice from listening to an audio book he recorded. But, the author does a good job of connecting the book back to her parents and how they met. This helped me feel like this plot line might actually take place.
The characters in the book are great! I love the tour group and all their differences. Overall, this is a quick read with a nice story that has a happy ending.

This clean romance drew me in with the blurb but failed to deliver. The pacing was very slow, there were too many underdeveloped characters, and the travel descriptions were told instead of shown to the reader.
I personally found the main character to be quite immature for a 30 year old, and overall the book fell flat for me.
Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley & Kensington paperback for the opportunity to preview this uncorrected proof in exchange for my honest review. This book reads like a Sophie Kinsella rom com. It’s silly, sweet, likable and yet an easy, fun read. The reader takes a tour with Gigi, a single book store owner who is gifted the trip of her dreams to tour Britain by bus. The caveat, is the narrator of the tour is Zane, the narrator of her favorite audiobook, with whom she’s fallen in love with via voice alone. I loved Gigi's character, but I loved the character development even more. It was so refreshing to read as an avid romance reader. The story had a lot of depth to it and had some cute little tropes thrown in, which I loved. I definitely recommend this one if you love a good romance book! This is a quick, fun, and cute read that is perfect for romance lovers.

It was kind of cute and short. I do however have some issues with the parasocial relation between Gigi and Zane before meeting him, like, girl, you're obsessed with someone who you don't know and who's shitty by the end of the book

The caveat, is the narrator of the tour is Zane, the narrator of her favorite audiobook, with whom she’s fallen in love with via voice alone. With a colorful cast of characters, the reader is taken on quite a sweet journey. Loved the setting & light easy rom com/ feel. Just the light book I needed this month.

Gigi is turning 30 and is a little lost. She runs a bookstore that was owned by her parents and is a little (or a lot) obsessed with an audiobook. More precisely, she’s obsessed with the narrator of an audiobook. His name is Zane and Gigi daydreams about him. So when her friends gift her a trip to England and a tour run by none other than Zane, she thinks her fantasies will come to life.
That’s not quite the case. Zane isn’t there and she’s immediately thrown into conflict with bus driver Taj. But as the tour goes on, Gigi starts to reconsider a lot of things, including Taj.
I love stories where people realize the thing they’ve been dreaming of isn’t what they really want. And Gigi’s perspective certainly changes throughout this book. I also really enjoyed meeting the other characters on the tour bus. It made me want to book a trip myself!
I didn’t love Gigi at first – she was a little (or a lot) uptight – but as the book went along, I started to understand her more. Taj was a great sparring partner for Gigi. He wasn’t too rude to be unlikable, but also not a pushover.
One thing I’m noticing in more and more romance novels is the mention of other contemporary romance novels. I don’t really love it. It seems too nod-and-wink from the author and pulls me out of the book a little. However, Gigi owns a romance bookstore, so I guess it was to be expected.

I really, really liked the idea of this book, however, it just fell flat for me. I love that Gigi is a bookstore owner and loves Romance rates. I think her friend group sounds amazing and supportive and who wouldn’t want friends like that? If I had friends like that? I would’ve wanted them to call me out on being obsessed with an audiobook narrator. Gigi’s obsession with Zane is creepy and over the top for an adult woman. The fact that her friends set her up on a tour bus to go see him is supportive in a bad way.
I thought the descriptions of England were well done, but at times things were too descriptive. I didn’t need to know that a side character tied a jacket around her waist and because of details like that it just got too long and a little boring. I adored the side characters and think I liked them even better than Gigi. I think their stories were well done and I enjoyed how we learned more about them. I find it highly unrealistic that everyone in a tour bus becomes friends, but I can chalk that up to being a romcom. It was easy to tell the direction that this book was going in, and none of the twists were exactly surprising. Overall, I wasn’t a fan of Gigi and the pointless details so I wasn’t a massive fan of this book. 3⭐️, 1🌶

I’m a sucker for books about books. Add in a tour of England and it is just perfection. I visited England a few times and it has stolen a piece of my heart. It is my all time favourite place to travel to. Being able to return from the comfort of my home was a nice little virtual escape.
This was a 5 ⭐️ read for me. It had talk of books and stories, beautiful English landscape, witty banter, swoon worthy men and was just a delight to read

I was really looking forward to reading this one. Gigi, a romance bookstore owner, is infatuated with audiobook narrator Zane Wilkenson. When her friends sign her up for a 10 day bus tour through the English countryside, with Zane himself as the tour guide, Gigi, is certain this will prove to be true love.
Okay… I love the premise of the tour. The infatuation with an audiobook narrator was a little over the top. When Gigi first arrives Zane has not shown up for the tour. She spends around 4 days meeting Taj and Angus as they lead the tour. I think I enjoyed the secondary characters more than I did Gigi.
I wanted to love this one, but it just fell flat for me.

Aw, this book was so cute and a good read! I loved Gigi's character, but I loved the character development even more. It is sometimes rare to have mature characters in a romance novel, but I loved the maturity of the characters in this book. It was so refreshing to read as an avid romance reader.
Gigi's story was cute and a fun, easy read. I loved how Chantel Guertin went about writing this book, as I loved the way the story was played out. The story had a lot of depth to it and had some cute little tropes thrown in, which I loved.
I definitely recommend this one if you love a good romance book! This is a quick, fun, and cute read that is perfect for romance lovers.
Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Books for this free arc in exchange for my honest review.

Gigi is tired of being set up on blind dates, she loves reading and secretly has a crush on a narrator Zane Wilkenson.
Gigi’s friends give her a surprise 30th birthday gift which includes a bus tour in England with Zane as the tour guide.
A fun easy read romance with likeable characters. I loved the way songs, movies and books titles were woven into the story. I also liked the detailed descriptions of the towns and places visited.
I originally was able to enjoy reading a short extract in October 2022 and was looking forward to reading the remainder which did not become available until early 2023.

4.25/5 stars! The premise of this story sounded so fun. I, too, would fly across the world to force a meet-cute to happen haha. I love the found family/friendship aspect of this story. There's some romance in the story which is great, but there's also so much personal growth. I love solo traveling and loved getting to know the entire cast of side characters. Will be watching for more books by this author.
I received an advance review copy for free through NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily

3.5⭐ Not spicy 🌶️
Perfect for fans of romance and the ultra fan that loves a good "name drop" pertaining to popular romance novels. I loved that part, I am a full on romance groupie.
Enter Gigi, the owner of a romance book store that is obsessed with romance books and reading in general. When she falls.in love with an audiobook narrator's voice, her friends decide to take matters into their own hands.
The audiobook narrator happens to also be a tour guide in England, and her friends have booked her on a 10 day bus tour with him as her guide! The ultimate opportunity for her own romcom, Gigi is nervous but also thrilled to finally meet Zane in person.
When she arrives, Zane is nowhere in sight, but we do get to meet Taj, the grouchy but also somehow charming bus driver.
Follow Gigi on the trip of a lifetime as she figures out what she wants in life and attempts to fall in love.
The character development was really wonderful and I loved all the other people on the bus. Can we get a follow up novel on what they're doing now?? 😉
I would definitely read another book by this author and enjoyed getting to know Gigi and alllll the other characters as I read!
Thank you to netgalley for an eARC to review.

Gigi, Listening is a sweet story about a young woman setting out to find the love of her life, an audiobook reader whose voice she has fallen in love with. The book is quirky and fun in all the best ways but I had a hard time connecting with the character which made the book drag on for me. Overall, I think this book is entertaining and worth the read.

KJ Charles is such a MASTER at the historical romance craft. The amount of intrigue, adventure, believability of concept and place AND love she can weave into a single book is just incredible.
Gareth and Joss will be tattooed on my heart. I loved seeing their love story develop from page 1. And their teamwork, struggles to be seen and valued… I just love them. PLUS the mystery of smugglers, missing guinneas, family members you don’t know who they’re aligned with… so so good.
Also, the spice was perfection. KJ Charles does on-page m/m love a true justice.

A cute romance with mature characters! I loved how the main character was aware of dating especially after your twenties. The book did feel slow and almost like a travel brochure at times, but I still think it’s a cute and fun read.

Gigi is surrounded by love stories everyday at the romance bookstore she owns. But she'd rather by home with her books rather than endure another bad date. Specifically, Gigi would rather be home listening to an audiobook narrated by Zane, her ideal man with voice that always soothes her. Zane only narrated one audiobook (which Gigi listens to on repeat) and through some internet sleuthing, Gigi discovers he is actually a tour guide in England. Gigi's friends surprise her with a trip to go on one of Zane's tours. Is this Gigi's chance to meet the man of her dreams?
This book was really fun. I thought the premise was unique and the cast of characters was fantastic. While there were some typical romance tropes (3rd act miscommunication, anyone?), the story had a lot of depth to it. Gigi is on the bus tour with an eclectic group of people, each with their own story and reason for being on the trip. Throughout the book, we learn more about each one as they form friendships with one another.
This book is full of wonderful book references (don't worry, there is a reading list at the end of all the books mentioned) and descriptions of the English countryside. This book is worth your time and may just leave you wanting to book a bus tour of England.

LOVED it!!! There are few things a romance reader loves more than a main character who's also a romance reader. And if she happens to own a bookshop in Ann Arbor that only sells romance novels? Well, Gigi's your girl! On her 30th birthday Gigi's friends gift her a bus tour in England (so generous) where she can meet the man of her dreams. That man of her dreams is the narrator of Gigi's favorite audiobook--the book that played a role in how her late parents met. But what actually happens when she shows up for the tour is nothing like she expects. Gigi and the entire cast of characters on the bus tour are so incredibly lovable. I found myself rooting for each and every one of them to discover exactly what they needed along the way. Reading this book was such a joy.
Thank you, Netgalley, for the ARC.
