At a seedy tavern hidden from all several knights are fighting. In an obscure room away from prying eyes William Marshal holds a covert meeting telling his most trusted agents including a young knight, Morgan de Wolfe. King John has stolen a very rich property, Mount Grace, being held by an enemy, Hollis de la Haye to William Marshal too. William Marshal has an idea to have Morgan take back the property from King John and use him to infiltrate the keep, become close to Hollis to take back the property from Hollis by assuming a dead man’s identity, Gere le Marche. Morgan is entrusted with an impossible task but knows he can’t fail because of his legacy and that he is de Wolfe. When Morgan gets to Mount Grace, he is entranced by Hollis’s daughter Lady Amarantha de la Haye. Morgan tells her his real first name and his attraction to her grows. Of course, Morgan knows that he can’t lose focus on the goal. Amarantha also feels the same for Morgan too. Pretty soon Morgan and Amarantha end up fighting more than just her father but another enemy loom ever closer wanting to destroy not only their relationship but their very lives.
What an amazing titillating exhilarating action packed medieval romance that will hold you in breathless anticipation! The roller coaster plot twists and turns with enemies, spies, double agents, an unforgettable cast of characters that simmer with realism and life! Ms. Kathryn Le Veque just knows how to write such an immersive tale that will pull you in never letting up until the very end! Sure, the attraction is instant, but in this case it really works. In classic Le Veque style with a sexy undercover agent like Morgan it is hard not to dislike him. He’s smart, hot and even believable that it is hard not to be charmed even with his lies. No wonder Amarantha fell for him because how could you not fall for him too? Yes, he even makes the perfect book boyfriend that might be great at espionage but could not avoid the pitfalls of love. Amarantha does have her moments of damsel in distress, but this even works too. That it was sad for the story to end but of course this is a book that will stay with you long after it is finished and will be on my books to reread which I am currently doing right at this moment!

Another fantastic book in the Executioner Knight Series. From the first page to the last Of Mortal Fury will keep your attention from the moment you begin the journey with Morgan de Wolfe and Amarantha de la Haye’s until the very end. It unfolds beautifully from beginning to end with threads of intrigue, secrets, deceit and reclaiming Mount Grace castle. Kathryn Le Veque has written a story that's filled with characters that weave a story that will hold you spellbound as their individual personalities become more than just part of the tale they come off the pages and pull you in, full of deception, danger, sizzling passion, and brims tension-building twists and turns. With setting descriptions and action sequences that are wonderfully vivid that brings the story to life and as the uncertainties escalates the suspense builds and danger abound which brings this read together perfectly!

The Executioner Knights never disappoint these books are excellent and so full of emotions and Mortal Fury is one of the best. The Marshall’s plan is to take Mount Grace Castle from Hollis de la Haye by sending Morgan de Wolfe deep undercover by assuming a dead man’s name and army, Gere le Marche to claim the castle. He never expected to fall for the daughter of the castle Amarantha de la Haye, the woman who could jeopardize his mission, and as fate is will can change his path and his destiny. Wolfe men love for a lifetime and Morgan is no different. Morgan has his work cut out for himself with the feisty and beautiful Amarantha. I voluntarily read and reviewed this wonderful story.

This fast-paced romance is fraught with betrayal, reminding me of one old man who used to jokingly say, “We'll double-cross that bridge when we come to it!” With the chance of making a name for himself as an Executioner Knight, Morgan de Wolfe goes undercover to infiltrate Mount Grace and hopefully reclaim it from Hollis de la Haye, the King's man who wrested the castle from Sir Oliver le Marche. However, upon his arrival at the castle, he has to intervene in an attack on de la Haye's daughter Amarantha, when would-be robbers attempt to rob the Church and take her hostage. Unlike the man her father would like her to marry, Morgan sets Amarantha's heart racing and she discovers feelings she never knew existed until she met Morgan. The story is fast-paced with enough action to keep one enthralled to end closing pages, and even as the story comes to an end, one discovers that betrayal from those who would be their supporters keeps on coming. Fortunately, this standalone romance does come to a very good conclusion. I received a copy of this enticing novel as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Oh snap, this book has it all: assumed identity, an evil villain,a truly ticked off older lady, a sweet but gullible woman, and a de Wolfe. Let's face it, having a de Wolfe in the novel as a main character is reason enough to read the book, so I should have led with that.

Morgan de Wolfe assumes the identity of a dead man and unwillingly falls in love with the daughter of the man he's supposed to destroy. This was another amazing book by Kathryn Le Veque, it has romance, action, a kidnapping, passion, and unwaveringly loyalty. I loved this book and highly recommend it.

A Medieval Romantic Adventure

He went undercover to reclaim a castle, but he did not count on falling in love with his enemy’s daughter. Could he stay true to his mission? It would be an adventure, especially when the love of his life was in danger. Morgan de Wolfe is an Executioner Knight, and surely, he did not want to be the first one of them to fail his mission. How could he protect the woman he loved and capture the castle? If you like medieval romantic adventures, full of action, treachery, and intrigue, you might want to read the story and find the answer between the pages. I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to lovers of medieval romance.

William Marshall has recruited Morgan de Wolfe into his band of Executioner Knights to reclaim a castle that has fallen into rival hands. This book reintroduces us to many of Williams' past knights Executioners and presents us with another daring adventure full of mystery, plenty of adversaries, and of course romance along his quest. Wonderfully told and fascinating as you go back in time with this escapade.
As always wonderfully told and a great story that will keep you hooked for hours.

Kathryn Le Veque has done it again! This medieval story has everything we are used to reading in an epic Kathryn story. We have lies, deceit, many spies, a battle, betrayal, and a love that can't be denied. Many of the characters are familiar to us from other books.
This story is about Morgan de Wolfe and his time to shine as the Executioner Knights and William Marshall face a massive challenge. They need to take back Mount Grace and its very profitable silver mine from King John.
Lady Amarantha is the daughter of Hollis de la Haye, the man King John had put in charge of Mount Grace. Lady Amarantha is a beautiful woman with a siren's body. No man has caught Amarantha's eye until she meets Morgan.
There is humor and camaraderie whenever the Executioner Knights get together. I laughed at the tavern scene at The Pox.
This story is one you don't want to miss. I received an advance copy through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine.

1214 England to Wales

"It was a mission that would make.... or break him."

Morgan was being sent on an undercover mission as part of the Executioner Knights, to help take back a castle for it's rightful owner. He would assume the name of another man to obtain help from the mercenaries ready to make a charge. What he does not expect is the beautiful woman he meets.

Amarantha has been able to do as she pleased, until she is almost kidnapped, but saved by Morgan.
Let the journey begin!

Full of the history, humor, strong, amazing warriors and a cast of characters that show up from previous stories!! Always a wonderful treat!!

Of Mortal Fury by Kathryn Le Veque is a medieval romance featuring a de Wolfe: Morgan. Morgan is the newest of William Marshal's cadre of fixers and one of the youngest. He has been selected to regain control of Mount Grace Castle, which had been stolen from the de Marche family theses five years past: not won in honest battle. The property included a silver mine that was supplying King John with the ability to pay the mercenaries that were currently bedeviling the country. Morgan was to pretend to be Gere le Marche, who had started this process and then died of a fever First, he needed to make contact with Marshal's men who were working in the mine and Lady Patience le Marche. To accomplish these things he was to find Father Nicodemus, who was a silent part of the revolt, but knew all the players. While he waited in the church, he silently watched a beautiful young woman reading to a group of local urchins when two men came in to rob the church and threatened her. Morgan took quick care of the men, only to discover that the young woman was Amarantha le Haye, the daughter of the man who held Mount Grace. What luck!

Amarantha was beautiful, but stubborn. She refused betrothal to the man her father had selected, she insisted upon traveling the area unescorted, and she insisted upon living her own life. Morgan was enthralled. But, as hear nearly-betrothed was present, he admitted to being married, not wanting to stir things up before he got the lay of the land. He had little experience with women and didn't really understand what he was feeling, until Sherry and Bric, mostly Sherry, opened his eyes. Never before had one of Marshall's men thrown over his assignment for a woman and Morgan nearly did. He certainly did not follow the plan they had agreed to. The story was a good one, with plenty of deceit and heart wrenching moments: blood and gore. Good story, full of passion and desire, deserving of a de Wolfe.

Morgan de Wolfe had been summoned by The Marshal, along with most of the other Executioner Knights. It seemed there was an opportunity to return a castle to it’s rightful owner and Morgan would be the Agent tasked with the operation. When Morgan arrives in the village of Bronllys, he has no plan for what happens next.
Lady Amarantha de la Haye was in the habit of doing as she pleased. Her father begrudgingly agreed to allow her to teach the peasant children to read and she did so under the watchful eye of Father Nicodemus. However, on this day, Lady Amrantha was assaulted by two men, who met their fate at the hands of a very large knight-with eyes for the Lady. The two begin the tentative start of an acquaintance, until Amarantha is kidnapped. Morgan, needing to finish his quest, delegates that tasks and begins the search for his love.
The story of their meeting, the search and the battle for Mount Grace is another brilliant, classic story by this author. Not only does she tell a tale of a beautiful romance, it is done with humor and a sense of the reality of that day’s political struggles. I loved it.

I never can get enough of this authors books. Another executioner knight bites the dust so to speak. Finding your love in the most unexpected places and especially when you weren't even looking. Plenty of action, suspense, fighting and a HEA.

Of Mortal Fury by Kathryn Le Veque is the eleventh book of the Executioner Knights series. Morgan de Wolfe assumes the identity of a dead man and heads to the Welsh border to infiltrate a castle stolen by an enemy of William Marshal and his ring of spies. Amarantha de la Haye’s father assumed control of Mount Grace when King John betrayed the owners and confiscated the castle. Amarantha is unaware of how exactly her father came in control of the castle and its silver mine. When she meets Morgan, sparks fly. Amarantha has no idea she is the key to Morgan’s mission.

This is a complex, intriguing story. It is rich with history. I’m interested to check out the earlier books in the series.

The Marshal has a plan. Take Mount Grace Castle from Hollis de la Haye, a stronghold for King John, and cut off his source of money from the castle's silver mines. Money he uses to buy French mercenaries.
For the plan to work, The Marshal needs Morgan de Wolfe to assume the identity of a dead man. The rightful heir of the castle, Gere Le March. It wasn't in the plan for Morgan to fall in love with Hollis de la Haye's daughter, Amarantha. It wasn't in the plan for Amarantha to be kidnapped and it wasn't in the plan for Irish mercenaries to become enemies instead of allies. It takes The Marshall's Executioner Knights to win against the odds and a strong knight to win a Lady's heart.
Heat level 3 🔥🔥🔥

Fascinating, action-packed romance!

Set in the year before the Magna Carta, this engrossing tale focuses on reclaiming a Welsh castle (and its silver mine) from the invaders who captured it five years earlier. Morgan de Wolfe is selected for a dangerous undercover mission to infiltrate the castle in order to rally those who are still loyal to the original family. It's a complex setup, but complex is what this author does best.

The other thing this author is known for is the unexpected twists and turns in her stories, and this one has that in spades. Morgan is enchanted by the daughter of the man he's sent to take down, but he's trying to stay focused on the assignment despite how quickly his feelings for Amarantha grow. This fast-paced story includes betrayals, sacrifices, hidden loyalties, and surprise appearances of several characters from the author's stable of heroes.

Morgan and Amarantha's romance is definitely insta-love, yet it's so sweetly and honorably developed that it feels as deep and solid as if they'd had years to get to know each other. It's definitely a "when you know, you know" kind of love, which is my favorite. Their HEA was glorious, and I adored the way all the loose ends were wrapped up for everyone in the story.

If you're looking for medieval action and romantic heroes, this was written for you. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Knights, Spy's, Romance:

Another hard to put down adventurous story from this author.
Wm. Marshall sends Morgan on a mission to infiltrate and recapture a castle.
Little did Morgan know that saving and meeting the lady Amarantha
would change both their lives forever.
The authors descriptive writing lets you see things as if you are right there.
The story has a lot of grit to it with many intense situations, subterfuge,
betrayals, alluring romance, battles, and many laugh out loud moments.
I was thoroughly captivated from the start and enjoyed all of the characters.

I did receive and advanced ARC copy for my honest opinion.

Morgan de Wolfe is given an undercover mission by The Marshal. A castle was stolen and it assets are too valuable to be left in the enemy's hands. It's Morgan's job to see it returned to The Marshal's control.
Amarantha de la Haye knows her father is not always the fair and benevolent man he shows her. Apart from pressuring her to marry he normally let's her do as she likes.
This is a wonderful medieval romance from an author who excels in her craft. She always brings us characters to fall in love with, and stories we can get our teeth into. Those of us who have read her books before will know the family names, but each book is totally different from any other.
There are plenty of giggles to be had, especially in the taverns where battle hardened warriors behave like silly schoolboys. Even one of the tavern signs will bring a giggle. There are also vicious battles, lots of danger and even a little sex.
I loved every page and can't wait for more.

One of the many pleasures I get in life from reading, is journeying with Kathryn and her interconnected families into the past, where they fight for life, love, king, and country, not always in that order.

That’s what Morgan does every day working for William Marshall, he makes sure the other executioner Knights have, what they need, when they be need it, where they need it.
Now he’s given his first real test, and what a test, one that could result in catastrophic loss if he fails, but he won’t fail, de Wolfes don’t fail, it’s not an option, ever.

All goes well until he meets the woman who will change his path and his destiny, Amarantha is a beautiful woman, who gets under his skin when he least expects it.

Set on the Welsh border, fighting for England, the Executioner Knight face a massive challenge, Kathryn as always will draw you back in time to fight hard, love harder and always win, no matter the cost.

A brilliant book, epic Le Veque, and one you must read, is this in any way unclear. 😉

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review
