My first read in this series. Whitney needed some work, a workaholic, who was ill and in a long term commitment, but not honest with anyone around her. The story had promise, but missed the mark, for me. Ok read.

HOLY ANGST! A LOT LIKE FOREVER is a very angsty read about a couple that has been in a relationship and engaged for years. About a year prior, Whitney was in a car accident where she received some troubling news. Following that, she threw herself into her work more than ever before and decided that she would eventually have to end her relationship. Trent just loves Whitney and does not understand why she has been pulling away - but he knows he is going to lose her, the last thing he wants.

This was a really emotional and tough read about a couple on the verge of breaking up, looking at the past where they started as well as the present. As time throws them for loops, they turn inward, walking on eggshells around each other, when they really need to be connecting and sharing their ups and downs. This really catalogues all the ways in which a relationship ends before the final break.

I found the book to be really mired in a depressive funk, and I had a hard time seeing through to other side. For people looking for a really sad and heavy read with an ultimate semi-happy ending, this will definitely fit the bill. I did not find the ending satisfying, perhaps because of all the drama and leadup to it that took away the feeling that there was a brighter side possible. Whitney is troubled, and this makes sense given her past and the secret she is carrying, but she also does not try to meet Trent anywhere near halfway with how much she focuses on her career to the exclusion of anything else. Trent was endlessly forgiving but also trying to hold onto something that you have to wonder whether it is worth holding onto.

This is a troubled, angsty, and heavy read that pulls the reader into the dark side of breakups. It reads like an encounter with a freight train. I would recommend for people who want an emotionally hefty read. This ends up feeling like quite the departure from other books in the series and is targeted for a different audience.

Please note that I received an eARC. All opinions are my own.

A lot like forever will grab your heart as a workaholic finds that she needs her boyfriend and her best friends as she faces health issues. The characters are well developed. The plot is interesting.

I have read some of Jennifer Snow's Alaskan series books and loved them, but this was the first of the Blue Moon series I've read. This was not my favorite book, not sure I'd consider it a romance, lacked some of the love aspects I expect in most romances. It does have somewhat of a Hallmark feel around the setting of the book in Blue Moon Bay but the dysfunctional relationship between Whitney and Trent missed the mark for me. I was more sad than happy reading this book.

3.5 stars

I really have mixed feelings for this book - I adored the first two books. They were cute yet romantic enough to where you could envision them as Hallmark movies. However, this third book was just too much drama; too much angst; and a little too dark.

Whitney (the 3rd friend in the series that has been engaged to Trent for forever) is under a lot of stress - Trent keeps pressuring her to pick a date for the wedding, pick wedding colors, or even pick a wedding dress - he just wants to get married and start having a large family. She is also under a lot of stress from her never ending job - it seems no matter how many hours each day she works, she just can't get enough done. Her boss (the mayor) recognizes that so she hires her own son as Whitney's assistant. But this only makes Whitney work harder as she assumes the mayor really wants her son to take Whitney's place. Then she is also stressed from her aging mom living in a retirement home with rapidly declining health. The financial burden for her mom's car weighs on her heavily. all this with a medical issue and Whitney is headed towards disaster.

But this is no reason for Whitney to act like a clueless ditz. She forgets Trent's birthday; she stands him up for dinners; she basically shows him no attention. After being with the man for seven years, I'd be walking away from her if I were him.

Trent is the nicest guy ever. He always thinks of others and he never gets mad at Whitney for her overcommitment issues at work (not sure how as I know I'd be furious long before he ever got upset). He hired a single mom to run the restaurant at his bar and he started to coach her two kids in football. There was a time I really wanted Trent to get together with her until her secret came out in the end and then I wished she had just never been a part of this story.

There's some drama in this story - more than in the first two books of the series. I also wasn't a fan of alternating scenes going back and forth between "now" and "then" (usually when they first started dating). Yes, it helped to show how much Whitney did love Trent back in the day, but it still didn't get her a free ticket to act the way she did in my book. Trent deserves better - I'm Team Trent all the way.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated above are mine without biases.

ARC provided by NetGalley for my honest opinion. Hotness factor overload, but the characters seemed off. Trent and Max needed more appearances of hotness. Throwing in an unknown child and adopting another at the end of the book was strange, and the end chapter didn't feel like closure.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Whitney is at a crossroad in her life. She loves her fiance Trent but has news that she is keeping to herself for now. She's not sure what to do. I enjoyed getting to know the different characters and their lives.

A Lot Like Forever is the third book in the Blue Moon Bay series. Once again this charming little town shines as a backdrop for these stories. However, this story doesn't have the same charm as the others did. Whitney and Trent are already in a relationship at the start of the book but things aren't going well. We follow their story from the past and now. I personally didn't think so many past stories were necessary. Also none of their actual issues were fixed by the end. I just never really liked their relationship and didn't feel like there was any real growth in them. I did love seeing the other characters from the previous books. Overall, this book was just okay compared to the other ones.

I am not a fan of the trope of sacrificing the relationship with the love of one's life to protect them from something. Lying by omission or out right lies instead of an honest conversation always leads to heartache for all parties. So I have a very hard time relating to Whitney, an adopted child with the need to be independent and in charge of her life. Seven years together and engaged for three, Trent just wants to get married and start having babies. He is every woman's dream, but Whitney keeps delaying making decisions, made worse after she found out that she has an inherited disease. She is scared to tell Trent or her boss, afraid of loosing Trent and her job. But I found her indecision tedious after a while. Too many secrets.

I read an ARC provided by the publisher via NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

A Four-star read that left me wondering at times. This is number three in the Blue Moon bay series, and maybe that’s why I didn’t always get this story as I didn’t realise that when I picked it up. But I felt this was just to deceptive, there was a lot of undercurrent and that just confused me so much, there was some great moments, but they were just overcome with the undercurrent. I do plan on reading the others and then popping back to read this to see if it made a difference, as I did like it overall.

Another fantastic read by Jennifer Snow. I enjoyed the series and this one was another great read! Definitely recommend!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advances copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This is book 3 in the new Blue Moon Bay series and it is a slow burn. There is a lot going on between Whitney and Trent who have been together for 7 years and are in engaged but haven’t moved closer to marriage. I enjoyed this book but it was a little too sad for me.

This book is about Whitney and Trent who have been together for seven years. They are engaged, but not moving closer to marriage. I 100% agree with the reviewer that said "Although the writing is good, this reader simply wasn’t in the mood to read a depressing story." The secrets and really what felt like a lack of trust just didn't scream romance to me, and I didn't believe that they would really be able to move on as quickly as they did from all of the secrets. I especially didn't like the storyline that was added with Angel and Eddie. Nope, no way. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley.

A Lot Like Forever, published by Entangled Publishing LLC, is the 3. book in J. Snow’s new Blue Moon Bay Series.
This is a slow burn, low on drama.
Whitney and Trent are engaged for 7 years and they somehow settled into their lives. Both carry secrets, don't talk much to each other, you get the picture. But instead calling it quits, they still trudge on, keeping more secrets til the you know what hits the fan.
I struggled with this story. It took me more than a minute to get into the story and connecting with the characters, hmm.
But all in all it's a solid 3,5 stars read.

Thanks NetGalley for this ARC.

This is the third novel in Jennifer Snow’s new Blue Moon Bay series and the third I have read from this author. A Lot Like Forever is the third and I believe final installment in this lovely series. This story is the rediscovering of love within a relationship and tells the story of Whitney and Trent who have been key characters in the first two books. The premise of this story is a little different given that the two main characters of this story have been in a relationship for several years and are even already engaged. Whitney is a workaholic who prioritizes her work above all else who is also still recovering from a traumatic accident with a secret that could devastate her relationship. Trent is her fiance who runs the local bar that he plans to expand to support the family he is desperate to have,

Like the previous books the characters felt real and the dialogue was fun. As usual the story was well written.

Things I liked.
- Seeing the friendships be showcased when Whitney was unwell.
- Sarah and Jess mini catch ups to see how they were going.

Things I didn't really like.
- flashbacks telling the story of Whitney and Trent's relationship evolution accounted for half the book. I am happy to read stories with flashbacks but for me it was too much of the book and I found it hard to always know whether we were "Now" or "Then".
- no real resolution over the Angel and Eddie issues.
- I would have really liked to see an epilogue a year or so in the future showcasing Whitney's health, their new family etc plus an update as to where Sarah and Jess where at.
- Lack of communication between Whitney and Trent was very frustrating to read when they already had the relationship etc.

Overall, a wonderful series and whilst I didn't love this story the first two in the series are books I will definitely come back to in the future.

I requested to read and review this book for free from Entangled Publishing. I love author Jennifer Snow. The Blue Moon Bay series is a great series to read. You can read all together or separate. This book has mystery, drama, romance and much more! Whitney is someone who has felt like she needs to take care of herself and having someone to want to take care of her completely is a little difficult to comprehend to her. Trent is a good guy with a heart of gold that likes to take care of everyone. Sometimes opposite personality can attract and sometimes not. Things we have done in the past can have unexciting results in our lives. This book is for any type of reader and can be read anywhere!

***A Lot Like Forever. Whitney and Trent have been together for seven years and engaged for three, but Trent is beginning to think they never will make it to the alter. Whitney has a lot on her plate: her mother’s Alzheimer’s, fear of loosing her job and some health issues of her own that she’s ignoring. Secrets, miscommunication and overall fear mostly drive the story. Although the writing is good, this reader simply wasn’t in the mood to read a depressing story. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley.

Whitney seems like the girl who has it all: great friends, a career she excels at and a fiancée that adores her. However this is only on the surface. She has pressure that is eating her alive from her job and the fact that her mother's medical condition is getting worse. She has a secret of her own, that she doesn't want to share with anyone, especially her fiancée, Trent.
For Trent, he adored Whitney the moment he met her. They have been engaged for seven years! He just can't understand why Whitney is reluctant finally get married and move on with their lives. Why she is so darn independent and won't let share her burdens. He's becoming frustrated.
Unfortunately, this book is about a lot of insecurities and secrets. It's also about a lack of communication and misunderstandings. Ultimately, it's about sacrifice and love.

I enjoyed the earlier books in this series more than this one. I didn’t enjoy the back and forth from then and now. I was also disappointed that Whitney never told her fiancé, Trent, that she was sick. I liked Trent more than Whitney. He was kind and caring. I thought she was somewhat selfish for not sharing her illness with Trent or her friends, until she had no choice. Trent also finds out something that shakes him up.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC of this book.

While I thought the writing in this book was excellent, I had trouble with all the secrets and lies between a couple who was engaged and together for seven years. That just didn't ring true to me, and I had trouble connecting to Whitney, the heroine. I did enjoy the supporting characters quite a bit, and the description of the small town was especially well done.
