Love and Kerosene is a beautifully written slow-burn romance. It's full of some brilliant moments and the story has heavy layers which gets disclosed slowly.

Highly Recommend. A Great Story with lovable protagonists.

I really liked this one. I thought Anneliese and Lachlan were good together and for one another! This one was different and the characters were unique. I enjoyed it a lot and it was so refreshing to read about characters that weren't just cookie cutters of other romance books or even Winter's previous books. This one had a few slow moments, but I honestly was so engrossed in the story that it didn't bother me at all. I highly enjoy Winter's books and this one was great! I can't wait to read more from her in the future!

Lives that were forever damaged until love set them free. An absolutely amazing story that you will never forget.

Lachlan is looking at burning the home which he hopes takes away all of the bad memories with the fire, yet when Annelise shows up who was his brother's finance wants to rebuild it he goes against his better judgment and agrees. What worries him is that he is falling in love with his dead brother Finace and that scares him along with being happy. Anneliese goodness just keeps after him to where he must decide whether or not he wants to be happy. A good book with good characters.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. I thought this book had potential through the first few chapters; however, once I got into it, I didn't care for the romantic parts, as they seemed forced.

While I found the initial portion of the book enjoyable, I felt the absence of palpable chemistry between the main characters hindered my engagement with their romance. I typically don't fixate on the steaminess of a romance novel, but the multiple hints at potential intimate moments followed by a fade-to-black scene felt like a letdown. It left me wanting more and left the romance feeling less satisfying. Regrettably, this book didn't quite meet my expectations.

Such a touching and unique story! Winter has always had the ability to write unique love stories to catch your your heart and mind, you just can’t get enough! Love, and Kerosene isn’t any different… Anneliese and Lachlan are two halves of one whole, hot and spicy book!

Despite the second chance romance trope not being my favourite trope in the world, this book was still thoroughly enjoyable. Annalise and Lachlan are such a cute couple!

***4 Stars***

I thought this book was going to be an angsty read filled with all kinds of push/pull between Anneliese and Lachlan, and while there was a little, their story played out quite differently than I expected and quite frankly, I enjoyed every minute of it. Anneliese is sweet, but determined. She doesn’t back down, but also knows when help is needed. Lachlan is running from his past and has done a really good job at keeping people at arms length ~ and then some ~ but once he lets his guard down, well, there is a goodness there that lures you in.

Their journey to their HEA did not start off well and was definitely unique in quite a few aspects, but I liked how they found that they actually clicked on all levels and that while neither wanted to be in a committed relationship, they found that not having each other in their lives wasn’t what they wanted either.

As I said at the start, this was a surprise in a lot of ways. It isn’t as drama filled as I thought it would be and it was definitely on the sweeter side of the coin, though the chemistry was intense. There were somethings that made me go…hhhmmm, but in the end, this was a fun read. Great supporting characters ~ Flo and Lynnette were a hoot and I wouldn’t be opposed to more Bryce or Berlin in the future.

Although I enjoyed the first 20% or so of this book, I really feel like the lack of sexual tension between the main characters hindered any investment in their romance. I'm also not one to obsess over the spice level of a romance novel, BUT I don't appreciate numerous allusions to potential sexual encounters only for a fade-to-black scene to be the payoff. It feels like such a disappointment and waste of my time. Unfortunately, this book was not for me.

Winter Renshaw just draws you in with her storylines. Annaliese and Lachlan are great character studies.

If you want all the feels in 1 book this is it!!! WR always has me coming back and wanting more. This book was worth the wait. The slow burn between Lachlan and Annalise was one for the books. What they had to go through was worth finding finding their happy ever after that they both deserve! And the heat was just BEAUTIFUL 😍 😉

He left when he could but after his brother dies in a car accident he’s going back home to burn his family home down to erase his memories. But after getting there Anneliese his brothers fiancé is there. Donovan has stolen all her money and had it when he was killed leaving her penniless. She hopes to sell the house after she tries to fix it up to sell and recoup some of her money. Lachlan feels for her and agrees to help fix the house up but she has to convince him to sell it. If not he’s going to burn it! What will happen next? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Oh Lachlan!

I’m always amaze on how this author has a hold on me, every story she writes is special, every character consumes me and Lachlan was no exemption.
Annelise went to so big changes, everything around her was crumbling and well she got up and kept going. She was such a strong character I really loved her. I think her and Lachlan where perfect. He was mysterious, with a secret agenda but someone that really was easy to understand and love.

Great read and the cover of the book is amazing so that’s a big plus.

First time reading a book by Winter Renshaw. Sadly, I wasn't amazed but it wasn't bad either. I think it was an okay book. Nothing too exciting. I'm not a huge fan of second chance romance but I thought I'd give this a try since I've heard good things about this author. I did enjoy the writing and the pace of the story. But, overall, it was meh.

This is a different story line. Anneliese was engaged to be married to what she thought was a wonderful man, Donavan. He dies in a single car crash and her world literally came crashing down on her as it turns out he's blown through all of her money that she thought was in a joint account to renovate his family home. So she's pecking away at the renovations by herself with the intention of selling the house to recoup her money. Turns out there's a brother that Donavan never told her about.
Lachlan left home when he graduated high school and kicked around Europe for 10 years. He came back to town after a distant family member reached out to him regarding his brother's death. His plan, burn down the family home, and leave again. There's a lot of bad memories in that house, all created by Donavan's lies.
When he encounters Annaliese he agrees to try and help her renovate the house, but doesn't readily agree to place the house on the market. Ironically when they finish the house and he decides to list the house, it burns to the ground. Thankfully they had insurance on the house. This was win-win as Annaliese recovers her funds, and Lachlan got his wish to burn the place down. By this time the two lost souls have found each other and head toward happily ever after.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest and voluntary review
