I received this arc from Net Galley. The story was well written and the characters were great. I did not read the first book and I do not feel like you would have to in order to enjoy the story.

(Thank you to netgalley for providing me with a eARC copy in exchange for my honest review.)

Unfortunately this wasn't my cup of tea. I had a hard time connecting with any of the characters, and every interaction they had was sexual . not saying that's a bad thing but it didn't make their love connection believable other then a brief flashback we got.

The language was also weird and made the writing seem a bit disjointed. It was a cross between British and Southern slang which threw me off ( if I read the work knickers one more time...).

The main plot of Cedric the manager blackmailing Mac was hyped up throughout the book but then went nowhere??? There was a huge lead up to it being something that would cause a big rift between the two characters and then it fizzled into dust 🤷

If you're reading this just for the smut though definitely give it a go,

ARC READ

I really liked this book, i don't usually like reading 3rd person but it was written well.

Although I enjoyed it I felt like it needed more, it took so long for them to finally be together that there wasn't much of there relationship story in the book (if that makes sense)

Unchain My Heart is book two in the Mephisto series. This is the first book I've read by the author, I feel it can be read as a stand alone in the series. It's obviously a continuation of the characters. I'm assuming each band mate will have their own book.
This is the classic second chance romance with a kinky twist. Richard Mac is a Dom and a Rock God. Yet something is missing from his life and he'll have to give up his safely calculated control in order to grasp that elusive piece, Natasha. They have been thrown together to fight an unauthorized tell all book and the currents that brought them to seven years after the first night they met. It's two years since her divorce from Sloane, but has enough time passed to finally claim her and what could have been.
Natasha is done with being cast as the villain. She's ready to face her fears and make herself over. First step, claiming her desires. And Richard is the one she wants, can they really manage a fling keeping it kinky but not catch feelings? How hot can they burn before they go up in flames and the real pieces start coming together? Can they each finally put the past to rest and stop running from it?

This is the first book I have read from this author. It is the second in a series and while I did feel I was missing some minor details this can be read as a stand alone. I liked the angst of the unrequited love especially on Mac’s side. While Mac and Natasha had to work out their feelings for each other, it seemed that the majority of their interactions ended up being sexual. I would have liked more emotional heartfelt conversations. And even though I like my kink, the intimate scenes became repetitive in that I ended up skimming those scenes in the last half of the book.

Quick Summary: Smoking hot!

My Review: Unchain My Heart by Nadia Blair was smoking hot! I was gobsmacked and gut-punched all in one. No kidding! While I had a general idea of what this romance was about, I clearly missed a few things. M and N's second chance love story was so atypical. Still, I wanted them to work out, despite the unusual circumstances that surrounded their relationship. These two had fire, passion, and chemistry. I really liked that they got each other on a deeper level; that is what made their relationship work.

Whew... this was a smoking hot kinda book. Natasha and Mac have been dancing around one another for years. First, they stayed away b/c Natasha was involved with another band member and but now they're thrust back into each others lives due to a tell-all book. Meddling side characters force these two to address the chemistry they have with one another. I loved reading Mac be protective of Natasha but still respecting her agency. The book does have BDSM and if that's not your jam still give it a chance. I look forward to the next in the series.
