If you are looking for that Hallmark Movie feeling, All I Want for Christmas is the book for you!

While I generally pick up MUCH steamier books, this book was super sweet with a combo of tropes sure to bring a smile to your face! A bit of an enemies to loves, a whole lot of fake dating, and a dash of grumpy sunshine make the characters of Sadie and Max stand out from the pages in a book suitable for the screen.

A cute and quick read, this is the perfect book to pick up as a palette cleanser and is perfect for any fan of country music or reality singing competitions.

This book was a cute light quick read. It felt like Christmas in may (writing this in may). It felt like reading a cheesy Christmas fake dating hallmark movie. I really enjoyed the pacing and loved the chemistry between Sadie and Max. This book was witty, funny, and swoon-worthy. It even had me grinning in some parts. Overall it was a lot of fun!

Thank you, NetGalley for giving me this eARC!

This had all the cheesy drama and romance you could possibly want in a Christmas-themed story. Fans of American Idol and other singing competitions will be doubly thrilled with this one.

Fake dating? Check.
Rivals? Check.

What more can I say about this story about two singers on not-American-Idol who end up with such undeniable chemistry that the producers manufacture a relationship for ratings? I enjoyed reading this, it was such a fast and easy light read. The only downside is that reading this cute story really put me in the mood for Christmas!

I would call this a warm, happy, light, fluffy, wonderful, good-feeling kind of read. You know what you're getting yourself into and the book delivers on everything you want from a holiday romance.

My only gripe about the story is that the forces that be keeping them apart felt a little contrived- also felt like Max and Sadie (#Saxie) were jumping to some pretty dumb conclusions and working overtime to see the worst in each other. It will give you a little bit of whiplash- but I would say no more than your typical rom-com book.

So does All I Want For Christmas revolutionize romantic comedies? Nope. But it absolutely will provide you with a heart-warming holiday story that hits the high points you would want.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Group Putnam for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest thoughts!

This was such a great holiday romance! Heartwarming and emotional. Sadie and Max had chemistry, but also had a back and forth relationship, which drove me a little crazy at times. Overall I really liked the storyline and finished reading it in a day! Definitely the perfect holiday read!

Sadie and Max are contestants on a country music reality show. The results of the show could make or break Sadie's career and while Max doesn't need the fame winning would bring, he could really use the positive publicity boost. When Max and Sadie sing a duet that goes viral , they're instantly shipped by the public and are dubbed "#Saxie." The producers of the show decide that Max and Sadie must continue as a duo - and a couple - or face immediate elimination. Their relationship is fake, but their onstage chemistry is very real. Pretending to be a couple leads to misunderstandings, insecurities, and mishaps throughout the competition. Max and Sadie must decide if the cost of fame is worth their happiness...

All I Want for Christmas is a sweet, standalone, holiday novel. There were some parts that I liked, but overall it was just kind of slow for me. The relationship between Max and Sadie lacked chemistry and had so many ups and downs it became a little redundant. The journey from competitors to enemies and eventually as lovers felt forced and way too quick in my opinion. Max and Sadie were both very quick to jump to conclusions about the other and assume the worst. It was frustrating at best, annoying at the least.. I wanted to love this book, but it was just "ok" for me...

This was an adorable Christmas romance set in Nashville and Banff. Sadie and Max are contestants on “Starmaker” (an American Idol-esque reality singing competition). Max comes from a famous country music dynasty while Sadie feels like this is her last chance to make it big before she’ll give up on her dreams of country music fame and go back home to Wisconsin. When they team up to sing a song for “Duet Week”, their chemistry takes viewers and the internet by storm and the show’s producers see a ratings opportunity in pushing them to team up throughout the competition (and it also wouldn’t hurt if they were seen out and about in public flirting and keeping the public interested). What follows is a variety of romance tropes including enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, and fake dating.

While the back and forth / push-and-pull and miscommunication between Sadie and Max grows tiring after a while, I enjoyed their connection and chemistry. Overall, this is a nice, easy read for a cozy winter afternoon (or whenever you’re in the mood for a holiday-themed romance!).

Thank you very much to Putnam Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Well, this is lovely Christmas love story with so many heartwarming and sweet chapters and great execution of my three favorite tropes: enemies to lovers , fake relationship and sunshine meets the grump!

The palpable and sizzling chemistry between Sadie and Max makes you enjoy every moment of their evolving relationship. But this sweet, adorable story also include extreme angsty, tear jerking and heartbreaking moments, too.

The book’s beginning at the Starmaker country star singers contest, introducing sweet, insecure but exciting Sadie and brooding, handsome Max who wants to step out of his father’s stardom hooked me up. I loved their hot-cold relationship, their undeniable chemistry and the producer’s efforts to force them fake relationship for better ratings.

Of course it’s obvious faking will turn into something real. They probably win the contest and the book will end with a big HEA. But no! I couldn’t get so wrong!

I was expecting to read something sweet-swoon- soft but at the first third book’s direction dramatically changed. It turned into little heavier and emotional turmoil that approached sensitive issues like grief, mansplaining, alcoholism, abandonment of parent.

The main characters truly pissed me off. I just want to yell at both of them. Because they have serious communication problems!

Misunderstandings and unsaid words affected their chance for HEA! Especially Max acted like a jerk, hiding behind his family baggage, grief, problematic relationship with his charismatic country star father. Sadie was too forgiving, not sharing her own family drama, bottling everything inside.

Their push-pull relationship made me a little exhausted and I still feel like Max should grovel more at the end after things he’s made and said to Sadie! He honestly made me irritated!

Overall: it was still heartwarming, angsty and emotional read! There are so many chapters made me swoon even though the characters tested my patience with their immature behaviors.

I’m rounding up 3.5 stars to 4 all I want for Christmas is shoes sorry you stars!
