This cookbook had some interesting flavor combinations. I am picky about flavors and textures so it didn’t get any play in my kitchen. It is a cookbook I would recommend though as the cakes are beautiful and could be easily adapted.

As always, I love cookbooks, especially baking cakes.

With a twist on some classic cakes, this Boling cookbook provides a new prospective and adds new flavors to these cakes. With guides for different texture cakes and tops, this cookbook is a great addition for any level of baker.

Would definitely recommend for a holiday, birthday, or "just because" gift for loved ones or yourself.

Everyday Cake is such a lovely cookbook! The recipes are well written and easy to follow. Polina's tips are super helpful for both beginner and experienced bakers alike. The beautiful photos are just a bonus to highlighting how great all the cakes are! This book has been a great addition to my collection.

Thank you to Polina Chesnakova and Sasquatch Books for the opportunity to review this baking book!

I am a sucker for cakes - sheet cakes, bundt cakes, loaf cakes, layer cakes, pancakes (hah), or any other kind of cakes! So, when I saw this book had the opportunity to be reviewed, I jumped right on it.

This cookbook showcases a total of 45 recipes for various sheet, bundt, loaf, and layer cakes. Some of the recipes are your traditional cakes like chocolate zucchini cake, upside down cakes, flourless cakes, devil's food cakes, and so on. But there were some of the most unique flavored cakes I've ever seen included in this cookbook: Raspberry-Rose Angel Food Cake, Whole-Citrus Almond Cake, Marbled Matcha Pound Cake, Earl Grey Tea Cake, and so on.

The book starts out with some tips and tricks when it comes to baking. This is then followed by recipes broken into the subsections by cake type - bundt cakes, tube cakes, round cakes, square/rectangular cakes, and loaf cakes. Each recipe has the ingredients to make it, the directions, and some even have helpful hints/tips to ensure your baking goes along smoothly.

The pictures that accompany each of the recipes came through almost flawlessly on my Kindle, except I'm unsure what some of the pictures are of (like which cake recipe). Despite this minor error, this book was formatted generally well for a kindle.

I cannot wait to make it through all 45 recipes to ensure my family tries them all. Up next for us is (actually) the Raspberry-Rose Angel Food Cake - Angel Food Cake is a weakness here, so I can't wait to try it with the Raspberry and Rose flavoring! Thanks again for the preview!

I am not certain that the title properly fits the cookbook. These are unusual cakes that are definitely not the average cakes most people think of making. The baking tips are very beneficial for first time bakers. While I cannot say this will be my favorite cake cookbook, it is one I will reach for when I want something different.

I really enjoy cookbooks like this that offer simple but elevated recipes. This is the kind of baking I enjoy most. Bundt, loaf, round cakes, sheet pan cakes -some familiar staples like yellow birthday cake with malted chocolate frosting, but others with more complex flavor profiles like parsnip and cranberry maple cake. A nice collection of recipes that are a little different than most standard cake cookbooks.

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NG for a copy of this cookbook in exchange for honest feedback. I read a lot of cookbooks and baking guides, but I consider myself to still be on a beginner's level. This cookbook provides SO much in just 45 recipes. The range of cakes goes from common to unique. The instructions are straightforward and clear. I think that almost any person could complete most of these recipes. I found a lot of value in this cookbook.

This isn't your typical cake recipe book. It has cakes that I've never heard of, but yet seem easy to prepare. For instance: Sugared Jelly Donut Bundt Cake, Raspberry Rose Angel Food Cake, or Cannoli Ricotta Cake with Candied Pistachios. There are tempting photos of nearly every recipe and the instructions are easy to follow. Each is accompanied by a brief introduction that gives some good advice about preparation. Typically the introductory chapter(s) are boring to read if one is an experienced baker. But the intros to this book are formatted as tables, making it easier to see if there's something new/different that might be useful. I hope to try several recipes from this cookbook and highly recommend it. Thank you NetGalley and Sasquatch Books for sending this cookbook for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

Thank you for the advanced copy. I really enjoyed Everyday Cake and am happy to add some of these great recipes to my repertoire. The illustrations were beautiful and the instructions were easy to follow.

The book was called "everyday cake", but I felt that the recipes were elevated nicely with creative flavour combinations or different twists on standard recipes. This was really nice for a more experienced baker, like myself, and made me experiment with some non-standard ingredients.

I would definitely recommend to friends and fellow baking enthusiasts. A great staple to add to the baking bookshelf.

A humble slice, square, or wedge of homemade cake never fails to delight and here you'll find forty-five simple recipes to make any day feel a bit special. Using ingredients that are readily available, these cakes are unfussy yet sweetly indulgent. Recipes are arranged using pans most of us already have in our kitchens: round, square, loaf, rectangle, sheet, and bundt. Flavors include warm spices, herbs and flowers, and sweet essences, plus chocolate, fruit, nuts, and seeds. This cookbook is worth buying just for the yellow cake with chocolate malted frosting recipe alone! These recipes are all written in a way that experienced and newbie bakers can follow. I baked almost everything in this book and everything turned out delicious! Thank you NetGalley for the advanced readers copy for review.

Thank you to Netgalley and Sasquatch Books Publishing for the opportunity to read this ARC. #netgalley #everydaycake

I love reading cookbooks. I'm new to cooking but I know enough learning from my mother. Cakes was definitely something of my mother's specialty. So I am craving to learn more about baking cakes and baking in general. This was a beautiful book with beautiful pictures. I thought it was easy enough to follow for the recipes. I would definitely recommend this book.

Great book for cake enthusiasts! Bundt cakes are beautiful and so many innovative recipes like Rhubarb Buttermilk Cake and Gingerbread Bundt Cake with Lemon Mascarpone icing. I loved looking at all of the different bundt designs. This cookbook is definitely not average, there are many classic recipes that have a new spin like Carrot Cake with Browned Butter and Cream Cheese Frosting. I will be attempting to make Santina's Tiramisu just because the image looks so enticing. This is good cookbook for an intermediate baker who is looking to experiment.

Easy-t0-execute recipes with (mostly) basic ingredients. These were "fancy-sounding" cakes without being fancy. The book was well-organized and easy to follow, and there was a wide variety of recipes that will appeal to most people. On the plus side, the photos were amazing, which is a must-have for me and my cookbooks.

This is agreat cake cookbook, it has lots of pictures and a pleasing layout which makes it fun to flip through and makes me want to bake all the cakes. I made the funfetti cake with strawberry frosting, it turned out okay, I definitely cooked it too long, so my mistake, but the recipe was easy to follow. I will definitely be trying more recipes.

Do I love cake? Yes, I do. Do I love EVERYDAY CAKE? Yes, I do!

Author Polina Chesnakova starts off her book with mostly always featured in every cookbook, “Let’s Get Started” chapter. This chapter is very extensive and gives a lot of helpful information. It’s worth reading, so don’t skip it.

Every chapter features a different style cake such as, Bundt and Tube, Round, Square and Rectangular, and Loaf.

Some of the recipes you’ll find are . . . Double-Chocolate Zucchini Bundt Cake, Raspberry-Rose Angel Food Cake, Whole-Citrus Almond Cake, Carrot Cake with Browned Butter-Cream Cheese Frosting, Frosted Apple-Cinnamon Oat Cake, Salted Butterscotch Fudge Sheet Cake, Earl Grey Tea Cake, Roasted Pumpkin Spice Cake with Tahini Glaze, and many more. So many I have never heard of before!

Dozens of color photos are included. If you have read my cookbook reviews before, you know that plenty of color photos are a must for me. I want that visual reference to guide me while I prepare a recipe.

All in all, EVERYDAY CAKE is a handy book to have on hand if you ever want something different for your dessert, or an exciting new flavor of cake to give as a gift or take to a pot luck.

I love to bake and try new recipes and had an excellent time making my way through this cookbook. The beginning was filled with great baking tips especially for a first time baker. There was a list of different baking tools and the proper way to use them. An ingredient list was added of products that are found in most baked goods and the best way they can serve you. I always pick out and try several recipes when I get a new cookbook and this one had some great ones! I have a love for a delicious Bundt cake so I picked the Gingerbread Bundt Cake with Lemon Mascarpone Icing. I chose this because it includes two of my favorite flavors, ginger and lemon. It turned out well and is definitely a keep recipe. The next recipe I tried was the Banana Cake without frosting. I enjoy banana desserts and this was a definite treat, nice and moist. The third recipe I tried was the Chocolate Sour Cream Cake, nothing beats a tasty chocolate recipe and I've found that sour cream always makes a cake soft. I had an awesome time going through all the recipes and look forward to trying many more.

I received an arc of this title for an honest review. An excellent, easy-to-use cake book with lots of new recipes and not too many crazy ingredients.

As the title states, these are simple cakes mostly using the cake pans we already have in our kitchens. Such a useful book, with some cool changes on standard recipes. Well worth having.

I would have made more of the cakes in this book, but my partner told me I had to take a baking break. Such a spoil-sport. But I suppose he has a point. After a weekly cake for over a month, it is maybe time to slow up. But moderation is tough when so many of the recipes in this beautiful book are begging for a turn in the oven.

One thing I particularly like about the book is Chesnakova's relaxed attitude towards substitutions. Even though there are several intriguing rhubarb recipes, if its not rhubarb season, she encourages swapping out for stone fruits. Many of the frostings are noted as optional, making the entries more friendly as mid-day snacks.

And now that a cake-less week has gone by, don't you think it must be overdue time to bake with the pears, figs, or zucchini that are abundant in the market right now? I see a double chocolate zucchini cake in my future that I might just call a vegetable course.
