Woah! What a crazy ride! This story was fast paced, filled with action and so much tension. I could not put it down. There were a few spelling errors and grammar errors, but overall the story was tight and a real page turner. The connection between Liam and Dianna felt so real, and I loved the banter between them. I would love to get more about Kaden though...who doesn't love a tortured villain! Looking forward to reading book 2.

This debut was truly original, had compelling characters, built relationships I cared about, and kept me guessing constantly. The enemies to lovers was the best kind of enemies to lovers: enemies TO FRIENDS to lovers. I can honestly say I’m jazzed to get my hands on the sequel.

I don’t criticize debut indie novels for typos or grammar, so my only critique is: it felt like the book could’ve ended organically around page 450, but it kept going to instead end on a cliffhanger. However I understand that indie authors often end on cliffhangers to encourage readers to get the next installment so I understand it ended the way it did.

Over all, I would recommend this book and look forward to getting my hands on the sequel soon! I’m excited to see the story flourish and grow

I didn't love the book so much that I'd think about it for a long time, but I'm excited to read the next one. The book has parts where it jumps back and forth in time, but it's not always clear when that happens. One moment you'll read about something that happened a week ago, then suddenly you're reading about the present or future. The trip wasn't exciting, and the book was too lengthy by 200 pages. The love story wasn't very smooth and Liam's character wasn't interesting. The story was good but the way it moved was strange. There were many parts where characters talked just for fun in the book, but some really important parts were only a few pages long.

This was a book that just wasn't for me. I kept trying to get into it and just couldn't. DNF around 15%. I'm sure there are people out there that would love this. I thought this was something I would love. Fantasy romance, enemies to lovers, paranormal. It just kept dragging.

*thank you to netgalley for an arc.

This is a long overdue review for one of my favorite Romantasy books! This book has it all - an interesting and unique world, dynamic and imperfect characters, and a romance that will leave you holding your breath for more. Told in dual POV, we see Dianna and Liam go from enemies to forced allies to friends to... I can't recommend this book enough for any romance and fantasy lovers. It will have you hooked from the start and needing to begin book 2 immediately!

Read this book if you like:
- bad girls with a good heart
- romantasy
- protective MMC
- cotton candy
- a story of revenge

Book 2, The Throne of Broken Gods, was released this week! If you have been putting off this series, now is the time to binge them both!

THE ENDING/CLIFFHANGER OF THIS BOOK IS INSANEEEEEEE I was literally CLUTCHING my chair and I stopped breathing. I was really immersed into the storyline and the characters, especially the loml Dianna. I really loved seeing the relationship between Dianna and Samkiel/Liam grow in a genuine way (the slowburn was burning just right 🔥😏). I definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a fantasy romance with enemies-to-lovers, but be sure to check out TW’s.

Thank you Rose and Star Publishing, LLC and NetGalley for this arc in exchange for my honest review!

This one was difficult to read and to get into the story. I don’t know if it is too raw and bloody or if it was the writing style.

''A thousand years ago, Dianna gave up her life in the deserts of Erioa to save her dying sister. She called upon anyone who would listen, not expecting a monster far worse than any nightmare to answer. Now she does what Kaden asks, even if that means securing an ancient relic from the very creatures that hunt her.

In the old world his name was Samkiel. In the new world it is Liam, but one title remains true throughout time. He is the World Ender, a myth to his enemies, a savior and King to those loyal to him. After the Gods War, he locked himself away, hiding from the world. He denied his crown and responsibilities, leaving the very ones who needed him most to deal with the fallout of the death of their homeworld. Now an attack on those he holds dear sends him back to the one realm he never wished to visit again and into the sights of an enemy he thought imprisoned eons ago.''

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Enemies to lovers
Unique world (gods, monsters, humans)
Slow burn romance / forbidden romance
Shocking plot twists
Cliffhanger
Incredible action/fighting sequences

The characters are so complex yet likable. Dianna our FMC is a badass warrior. Kaden is our villain. I can't wait to learn more about him. The plot unravels at a consistent smooth pace which I LOVED. It never goes too fast or too slow. These two really needed time to find each other. It was beautiful how both of them opened up, evolved and allowed themselves to feel. The world-building and story are so unique! I genuinely haven't read anything like this before. And the story kept me on my toes the ENTIRE TIME! So many plot twists I did not see coming! And that cliffhanger. . . AAAARGHHH

“𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐬, 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚, 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐥𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐥.”

A thousand years ago, Dianna gave up her life to save her dying sister. Now, reborn with dangerous powers, she serves as the right hand to the king of monsters.

Samkiel, the World Ender, is a myth to many. After the Gods War, he locked himself away, denying his crown and responsibilities. But when old threats resurface, Samkiel realizes he can no longer hide.

Dianna and Samkiel are enemies older than time, but they must put aside their differences and work together in the hopes of saving both their world and every realm in between.

This book was a breath of fresh air. Most of the other fantasy romance being released nowadays have the typical morally grey love interest and a damsel in distress heroine.

WHERE THERE EVEN ANY HEROS HERE?!

The world building, the slow-burn, the trauma I ATE IT ALL UP!!!

Dianna and Samkiel have my favourite dynamic EVER. Reverse grumpy sunshine...
Can't wait for my ARC for the sequel!!!!

Try as I might to get into this book, it just wasn't happening. it starts very abruptly, in the middle of a torture scene which wasn't pleasant. did not finish.

Really interesting and one of the best dark fantasy romances that I've read so far! Some parts dragged a little but apart from that I really enjoyed!

this was definitely a book full of world building and detail, so i found myself often going back to re-read passages. this isn't to say that it's a bad book, just that it needed my utmost attention. AND THANK GOD FOR THAT. this is a promising start to an amazing series, and i'm ever thankful for having the chance to delve into nicole's wonderful world of magic, fallen gods and romance.

I wish that I knew that this was an URBAN fantasy. I'm not a fan. I couldn't finish this book. I can tell that the author worked very hard on developing characters, and a world, and a plot, but this really wasn't my cup of tea. I got so bored 2 chapters in. I couldn't connect with the characters and the pacing was on and off. Oh well. Better luck next time.

Yes! I love a good dark romance, and this was one. Definitely check the trigger warnings before, but it's giving what it should.

Pretty standard dark fantasy romance- would recommend if you are looking for this kind of book. Overall a nicely written novel.

First time reading by this author and I freaking lurrrvveeed this book! Wow, so many good things going on here that you must read this book right now! Great start to a series. Dianna is badass and LIam is just awesome, throw in wonderful secondary characters and a great plot and you have a book that you will read in one sitting and still remember favorably later on! It does end a cliffy but I am satisfied and cannot wait for the next book! 5 stars

Not the biggest fan of dark romances like this. It just wasn’t for me! Sorry! No offence to the author. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my review.

I love a good enemies to lovers story and this hit all the requirements!
This book had me gripped and I am already excited to start book 2. The world building was detailed. Kaden was a good “villain” but I still found appealing. Dianna and Liam’s relationship was great, had awesome banter, and again, enemies to lovers is always a winner. Gaby was a great side character with her charm and caring coming through. I enjoyed the dual POV.

Only complaint - I want more spice!!

I was getting a little confused while reading this and the world building was very slow. While I wanted to love this book, it just wasn’t for me unfortunately.
