Thank you to Netgalley, St. Martins Press, and B.A. Paris for an advance copy of The Prisoner in exchange for an honest review. This was definitely an interesting story & premise but it just didnt work out as well as I wanted it to. I love this authors books and I feel like they are usually very suspenseful and maybe I just misinterpreted this one as a thriller so thats why it didnt fully work for me? Honestly, the characters annoyed me and I struggled paying attention when we were going back and forth to the past and present. With that being said, I think this book will find its target audience and people will definitely love it. I do look forward to reading more of this authors work in the future. This one is out now!

B. A. Paris does it again! I have enjoyed several books by this author, but The Prisoner may be my new favorite!

I felt conflicted reading The Prisoner. It was an interesting storyline that kept me engaged and continue wanting to know what was going to happen, but that’s about where the positives ended.

Many storylines weren’t fully developed so it had me questioning why it happened or why it was included. I also felt that it was fairly predictable going through the story.

Overall, a good mystery thriller, but not great. Thank you netgalley for the book in return for a review.

I have love B A Paris books from her first one, Behind closed doors. It was a good read but wasn't one of my favorite stories by this author, it was still enjoyable. Amelie and her husband, Ned are kidnapped and she wakes up locked in a pitch black room. It jumps back and forth in the timeline and there were twists and turn. I always recommend this author and being a fan will read all of the books published. Thank you net galley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I found this to be a quick read. It was hard to put down. So many twists and turns. The ending was quite a surprise and made it a well worth read.

BA Paris does it again!

I don't want to recap or elaborate too much because I don't want to give anything away, so this review will be short and I urge you to read it!

I didn't know how much a book about a kidnapped couple could keep me hooked and invested, but here we are. I found myself rooting for Amelie the whole time, and the ending, you guys!!!!

I am not one to typically like the ending of a book. It is rare, and if you've ever read any of my other reviews, you've seen that I mention it frequently. BUT THIS ONE!! I was satisfied with this ending, though I also wish it went a little more in depth or was a little longer.... Or, you know, a second book to make this a series.. just kidding. Kind of...

Anyway, 5 stars from me, I really liked this one a lot, and it is in my top 3 of favorite BA Paris books.

I very much enjoyed this book because it kept me guessing. I also really appreciate when there is a strong female character. While strong female characters are starting to become more common, there still are not nearly enough of them, especially ones that show a lot of wit in difficult circumstances like in this book. I'm not quite sure how I feel about the very end of the story, but it was different and interesting.

Thank you Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for a copy of The Prisoner by B.A. Paris in exchange for an honest review.

THEN
Amelie has always been a survivor, from losing her parents as a child in Paris to making it on her own in London. As she builds a life for herself, she is swept up into a glamorous lifestyle where she married the handsome billionaire Ned Hawthorne.

NOW
But then, Amelie wakes up in a pitch-black room, not knowing where she is. Why has she been taken? Who are her mysterious captors? And why does she soon feel safer here, imprisoned, than she had begun to feel with her husband Ned?

The Prisoner will suck you in from the start and take you on an exciting, thrilling ride!

Hmm.. I typically really love BA Paris, but this one just didn't do it for me. It was really slow at the beginning and then too fast at the end. It felt rushed and confusing. I also feel like the characters were very surface level. Unfortunately this one just wasn't for me. Thank you netgalley for me free review copy.

Wow this was so good! I really enjoyed it and it surprised me a lot. I thought this was so much better than her others books. Probably my favorite of hers now.

I absolutely LOVED “Behind Closed Doors” so I was stoked when I was approved for this one! However, this one fell a little flat for me. It jumped from past and present. There were several characters to keep track of in the beginning, and seemed to focus on the captivity a little too heavy. Overall, I was pleased but it didn’t have me absolutely hooked and for that I’m giving 3 stars!

Another twisty thriller by BA Paris!
Amelie has worked hard to get where she is. She has a new man and is sucked into a life of luxury….. until she wakes up in a pitch black room, having no idea where she is or who has her captive.

This book was good and mysterious which is what I'm used to from any B A Paris book. But it lacked some background information, especially when it came to Ned. Why was he the villain? What or who made him that way? It just wasn't a favorite for me and I wish I had more of a back story. Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review the book.

The prisoner by B. A. Paris
"Amelia wakes up in a dark room not knowing where she is. Who has taken her, why is she in this place, but starts to feel safe in this place and gets feelers for this person" . Have to read this book to see if she should try figure out a way to stay or go if captors let her!
Great book. The characters and plot was great, engaging and quick read as well.
Give it 4⭐⭐⭐⭐.

This was not one of my top books for B.A. Paris. It has different times the book was told in and found it a little hard to follow. I have been very pleased with her books in the past but this one didn't hold up. I did like the idea of the story it just wasn't written in a way they kept me on the edge of my seat or had me screaming at the characters. It was a slow start and didn't really pick up at all.

I really loved this book in a new to my series and author. I can't wait to read the next one. The characters and location really add to the plot. This book keeps you guessing until the end

I had really high hopes for this thriller, but it pains me to say that I was quite disappointed. Overall rate 3 stars, plot was predictable and story flow was slow.

This was another fantastic read by B.A Paris! The story goes back and forth between past and present

I enjoyed the second 2/3 once she was freed from captivity. The beginning had a lot going on and none of it really seemed relevant in the end. I thought too much time was spent on their experience in captivity. Overall, i liked the book and the ending but i thought there was a lot of characters and a lot going on and hard to follow at times.
