Winter’s End is book 4 of the Alaska Wild series by Paige Shelton. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. It takes place during spring and the towns annual Death Wald. Not as gruesome as it sounds, it is simply making sure that everyone made it through the long, cold winter. Everyone comes to town to check their name off the list, but Beth cannot find her new friend Kaye Miller, even though her name has been crossed off the list.
Beth is still living with Viola at the half-way house for non-violent criminals. Chaz is their current guest, and the food that he cooks makes me want to try these recipes out in my own kitchen.
The story revolves a long feud between Kaye’s family and their neighbors the Oliphants. Is Kaye in hiding or did one of the Oliphants kill her. But what reason would they have. Beth pieces together the puzzle with ingenuity, and come to a believable conclusion.
This book can stand alone, but to enjoy it to it’s best, read the previous titles first. Paige does a wonderful job of character development throughout the series. An awesome book!!

I am a huge fan of Paige Shelton's Beth Rivers Series... I absolutely could not wait to get my hands on this book! OMG - what a fantastically wild ride in the Alaskan wilderness. On the day of the Death Walk (an important event in Benedict, Alaska), Beth's new friend, Kaye, has disappeared. And Beth - being Beth - knows something is off and takes it upon herself - and her wonderful dog, Gus, to determine what happened to her. In parallel, Beth is still seeking answers regarding her Father... and also the criminal who caused her to seek refuge in Alaska, Ms. Shelton weaves all these threads together in a wonderful "cannot-put-it-down" book! I really hope this isn't the "end" of Beth's story... A huge thank you to St. Martin's Press, Minotaur Books and Paige Shelton for an ARC of this incredible book! The opinions expressed here are my own.
