This book was just ok. I really couldn't get past Eli's obsession with his ex - I felt like it took so much away from the actual story when clearly Leah was a better match for him. The jokes/banter/vibes of the book had me laughing. The pacing seemed off, and felt like we were missing some details. Thanks for the ARC.

If you are looking for a cute rom-com read, then you need to pick this book up. It has all of the elements of a rom-com: fake dating, winning an ex over, learning yourself, falling with someone unexpected, and more. Can't spoil all of the book. But it's definitely a cute rom-com read. It will make you all swoony.

Had high hopes but wasn't really into the book. The storyline seemed to drag and then rush too much at the end. Would have much rather had it be shorter..

super cute romance that was pretty average to me, nothing too crazy or groundbreaking. the characters and plot was cutesy but i can’t see myself going out to buy myself a copy or reread it

This book was super cute, but was lacking a little on the execution for me. I really liked Leah, I thought she was super sweet. I wish that there was a little more emphasis put on Eli bettering himself versus just trying to win back his ex. It would have made our main characters ending up together feel a little more justified.

Rating : 3.75 out of 5
Blurbs :
STEP 1: Find yourself
Leah Keegan is used to being alone, especially after taking care of her sick foster mother for the past year. But now there’s nothing keeping her in the sweet town of Willow Cove. It’s time to move on. Again.

STEP 2: Win back the one who got away
Eli Masterson thought he and Victoria were meant to be together until she decided to jet off to Rome for a year. Eli is determined to win her back. But how?

STEP 3: Become a romantic hero
Changing Eli’s physical appearance is easy, but to turn Eli into the sophisticated-yet-vulnerable ideal man, his girl pals force him to watch classic rom-coms. And take notes.

STEP 4: Fall in love?
Inadvertently drawn into the makeover scheme, Leah ends up being Eli’s guide through the wild world of meet-cutes and grand gestures. Even though she believes Eli doesn’t need to change a thing about himself. Even though she just might be falling for Eli . . . and Eli falling for her.

Thoughts :
It's fine I guess. It's full of fluff and I love Eli. Sadly, it kinda felt flat to me. I still love the reading experience tho. Thank you Netgalley for the advance copy!

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

I read this book and was left with a cute story but not a lot of interest in re-reading it. Eli was not an MMC that I connected with strongly, and while the book was easy to read and mostly straightforward in concept and delivery, I don't really remember much about it a few days after reading.

2.5 stars.

Eli and Leah are such a cute couple. I really enjoyed this book. It was fun with all the movie references and how eager Eli was to impress his ex-girlfriend. But through that, he ended up falling in love with someone who appreciated him for him and encouraged him to do the things she knew he enjoyed and excelled at. She was brought into the fold of his family and friends, and Leah got the family she had always wanted. I feel like this book could have used an epilogue, and I really hope she writes a book that is the love story of Gray and Delia because it looks like another Willow Cove book is coming out with Gillian as the main character. I will probably read it, but I would be more excited to read a book about Delia and Gray.
I received this book via NetGalley as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Definitely rooting for these two main characters right out of the gate. A great book that kept me interested from start to finish. There were enough twists and turns, and surprises. But overall a cute book, and one I would highly recommend. Also a quick read as the plot keeps you interested.

The minute I saw the title I new I needed this book in my life. As a lover of rom-coms I had high hopes for this book and I think it made a good attempt. The story was good but lagged in multiple places, nothing a few quick edits (or skimming) could change. Overall the story is lovely.

3/5 stars!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I love a to do list so the synopsis of this book really grabbed me (LOL)!
I love these style romcoms- try to change someone to become the person you want.them to be. Its a story told many times but it never gets old.

This was a cute story overall, but there were a few details that almost made it difficult to read. Why would Eli’s family & friends want to give him a makeover so badly to win back a girlfriend they didn’t like and that they knew didn’t want Eli? And why would Leah fix up a house so that Patrick could sell the house with her own money? These would have been easy to overlook, but they were the main conflicts for the two main characters throughout the story.

I did enjoy the story and the characters for the most part. Thank you for this ARC.

The Rom-Com Agenda by Jayne Denker was a terribly sweet read about a man desperately wanting to settle down with "the one". 'The One' being the women who dumped him and left for Europe. Little does he know that fate will intervene as well as his very lovely family. His family takes the responsibility of giving Eli a proper gentleman's makeover by grooming him head to toe. During this makeover, Eli is expected to watch a certain set of rom-com movies where he will learn how to properly woo a women. This, I had to say was my favourite part of the book! I love watching old movies, especially the classics :)

Leah is a women with so much on her plate, trying to make a living by working 2-3 jobs in their small town. Eli's family enlists her support and help in the makeover, giving Leah a much needed break and offering some excitement in her otherwise very busy life.

It was such a fun read. The story flowed seamlessly and I loved the connections between all of the characters in the story.

Thanks very much to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I really liked the romance. The moments between just Eli and Leah gave me butterflies and had the perfect build up before their tension finally broke! I loved their friendship and watching it grow into more was cute. I also liked how Eli learned the difference between his feelings for Victoria and his feelings for Leah. I also enjoyed the addition of Leah’s history in the foster system, something that is not often featured in romance books.
Everything else about the book was a little lackluster. I liked the friends and I liked the possible continuation of a series for Delia and Gray, but the friends were a little too much sometimes, especially Jenna. I think that they meant well with the “makeover,” but that it went too far to the point of decreasing my enjoyment of the book.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading more books by this author in the future!

This was such a great book!!!

The Rom-Com Agenda by Jayne Denker was a terrific read about a man desperately wanting to settle down with "the one", ie the woman who dumped him and another woman who didn't want that at all. While helping him try to win his ex-girlfriend back, the two form a wonderful friendship that turns into so much more.

This book was written so beautifully and flowed so well that it seemed like I made it from start to finish in a matter of minutes. I didn't want to put it down!

I listened to The Rom-Com Agenda and thoroughly enjoyed the narration by Erika Schindele. She did a fantastic job with all the different voices.

Side notes:
* There was chemistry between the two main characters, anything steamy was fade to black.
* I'm happy about Blanche :-)
* I want to know what happens with the house.
* The setting sounded wonderful and the side characters were tons of fun. I hope there will be more books to come.

I can't wait to read more by this author.

Thanks very much to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This w@ a cute if not predictable romcom. I think people who enjoy movie references while enjoy the overall storyline. The last 100 pages dragged a little.

I usually love reading any rom-com and was instantly drawn to this title. The premise seemed good. However, when I got to reading this; I did not like it as much as I thought I would. Leah was a grest character and dealt with a lot! Eli, the man who was after, was a mess. I enjoyed her previous book, The After Life a lot more than this one.

Cannot recommend but I know other readers may enjoy this more than I did. Thanks to NetGalley, Jayne Denker, and St Martin's Press Griffin for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

pretty generic story, read this about 3-4 months ago and have already forgotten the plot. Characters were likeable but not memorable.

In "The Rom-Com Agenda," Jayne Denker successfully captures the essence of romantic comedies while infusing the story with a contemporary twist. It's a book that will resonate with anyone who's ever daydreamed about rom-com scenarios or navigated the ups and downs of modern dating. So, if you're looking for a lighthearted and entertaining read that will make you laugh, swoon, and perhaps even rethink your own "romantic agenda," this book is well worth a spot on your reading list.
