You know those books where you’re so excited by the premise that no matter if the book is objectively good, you feel let down by it? That’s me with A Cat Cafe Christmas. There were certain elements of this book I found cute, primarily being the cats’ adoption profiles (dating app style, naturally) as the start of each chapter. I wouldn’t even mind a book following the best friends. But as for the actual main plot of this book? I found myself yawning through it. The romance was lackluster, the world was just okay, and it was truly pure Hallmark movie channel vibes distilled into a novel.

I thought this book was purrfection!

Even though I'm more of a dog lover now, I grew up with two cats, both of which were rescues. All three dogs I've owned have also been adopted from rescue agencies. So this book about two friends who owned a cat Cafe that doubled as a cat rescue where patrons could adopt a furry friend, really touched my heart! It was just so sweet!

I loved all of the cute kitty descriptions to start the chapters. The cats featured had such fun personalities! I love a book that features cute pets and the fact that they are rescue animals makes it even more special! I enjoyed the festive holiday aspects of the story as well. The romance between the main characters was also nice. I have no complaints about this one! Check it out!

3.5 Stars! This was an adorable Christmas romance that had a good mix of romance (closed door), friendship, drama (the good kind), and, of course, cats. As a massive cat lover, I really appreciated the humor and fun that came at the beginning of each chapter announcing an adoptable cat with an image, creative name, and imaginative description. I really enjoyed the plot of this novel and the short enemies-to-lovers beginning that starts off the cat-lover vs. non-cat-lover romantic aspect between Kara and Ben. Both had gone through horrible experiences with previous partners and hesitate to let the feeling of love grow. Thankfully, furry felines help lead them to each other and they find they are a puuurfect match (sorry not sorry). Pet lovers need to get their hands on this book!

I was looking for a lighthearted book for my book club for December.I always look forward to picking a Christmas book I think the group will enjoy, but also something very easy because everyone is so busy with the holidays we can't go to deep. With my love of cats I thought this would be a fun read. The main character Kara owns a cat cafe and I have actually been to one of these before so that made it fun. Kara is worried she won't be able to keep the cafe open and get the cats new homes, but in walks in the handsome Ben to save the day.Ben works in marketing and knows how to raise funds and helping Kara would make him feel like he's accomplished something important. Not shocking the two end up together but the story between the beginning and end is very worth the time. Very cute story!

I am a big fan of Codi’s books and couldn’t wait to get my hands on this one. And it lived up to expectations!

🐈 What’s it about?
Kara is a veterinarian who owns a cafe / cat shelter with her business partner Charity. But Kara is trying to recover from a sordid past wherein her ex used her to access sensitive client info and steal money from a charity.

Ben moved from NY to California to escape his brother, who married his ex fiancé. He works in marketing, and promotion work he did for the cafe brings him in cataclysmic contact with Kara.

Though their first encounter was terrible, when Ben discovers a kitten in his house, he goes to Kara for help. And slowly, through fixing busted pipes and creating an epic cat cafe clinic fundraiser, the two help each other to trust and love again.

🐱 My thoughts:
This book was the sweetest. I love Kara’s chaotic energy. She’s so perfectly awkward. Her bestie, Charity, is a star and I hope she gets her own book one day. And Ben is so darling and just so hurt. I loved watching him become a cat person and how he and Kara healed one another.

I will say that even though this book has 25 days of Catmas, this Christmas element was relatively small. But that’s a small issue, because I’d read this sweet little closed door romance in any season!

And the cat descriptions and illustrations at the beginning of each chapter were an adorable touch.

This was cute and hallmarky, the perfect little clean Christmas romance to read instead of watch! I wish the characters had more to them but it was enjoyable and who didn’t love cats?! If you’re looking for a short one sitting read that’s christmassy and has some feline friends and a sprinkle of romance, this one’s for you!

very very very cute! it was so sweet and mixed romance with cats and an underdog story all in one. it was puurfect! (see what i did there?)

kara and ben were interesting characters to follow and was so heartwarming to see them grow in the ways they did in the book. they were true underdog characters who wanted to root for the whole way through! kara was smart and kind and with ben as a main live interest, he was strong and warm and exactly what the book needed to compliment kara. although i did find kara’s resistance a little frustrating and i think her character (actually both) would’ve benefited from therapy. big things happening in there lives…

the book was set during the holidays but it wasn’t as magical and whimsical as i thought it would be. it was true to the christmas nature with heartfelt moments and a big happily ever after though. i liked the book and all the cats were so sweet! i especially loved chaos because he reminds me of my own cat :’)

I don’t usually read romances, but I wanted to step out of my comfort zone here, especially since the plot was based around a cat cafe during Christmas. And while I liked the romance between Kara and Ben, I also appreciated the look we got into the daily running of a cat cafe. I liked hearing about their customers, and I especially liked the special blurbs and illustrations for each cat at the beginning of each chapter.

As for the romance, I liked it better than other romances I have read. It was very cute and banter-y. The side thing going on between the side characters was good too. There were vague descriptions of sex, nothing graphic, but I do find myself wishing it had been a *tiny* bit more graphic. However if you don't like sex scenes I think this will be fine for you.

This was cute and I liked that it centered around cats! The romance was sweet. There were several sub plot lines and one could have been removed to help the story flow and help it not feel as long.

The best parts of this book revolved around the cats: the bios at the beginning of each chapter, hearing about their personalities and adoption stories. The humans were a little less interesting to me. Ben and Kara both had good reasons for having trust issues, but it was repetitive and not very compelling to have one of them (mostly Ben) overstep, they'd have a fight, it would thankfully be resolved pretty quickly, some kissing, repeat. I appreciated that none of the spats were drawn out, but I wish that both of them weren't dealing with bad breakups (for very different reasons, but it was still all about the exes).

A Cat Cafe Christmas is a cute Christmas romance. Kara is a veterinarian that co-owns and runs a cat Cafe and adoption center. Ben rescues a kitten and tries to take it to the Cafe. They're not really enemies but they don't care for each other at first. They soon realize they don't mind spending time together and that soon turns romantic. Kara has a major skeleton in her closet and Ben and her friends are there for her along the way. I enjoyed this Christmas romance.

What a cute read!! Who doesn't love Christmas and cats?? I loved Kara's heart for animals and how Ben's heart slowly warmed to his little creature. This was a fun and sweet holiday read. Add it to your TBR!

I generally enjoy anything to do with cat cafes - I also love visiting them. I had high hopes for this book, I enjoyed it, but I do think there was some left to be desired.

I never read a romance book before Cat Cafe Christmas. I figured what’s not to like about a book featuring cats. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the characters. If you are in the mood play feel good book, I highly recommend you read Cat Cafe Christmas..

ARC REVIEW FOR A CAT CAFE CHRISTMAS

Wow....just...wow. This book was just...not good. All the characters, except for maybe Ben and Mrs. Wyatt, were terrible people trying to be disguised as misguided or victimized. The dialogue read like a really bad Hallmark movie with no-name actors, and the cheesiness was not endearing but actually cringeworthy. The only redeeming part of the story was the ending- that was the only part where I didn't cringe and I enjoyed (and I actually mean the ending of the book - last 3 chapters - not the end of the book :) )

I don't want my review to come across as I'm ripping the author apart, because I've read their other books under a different pen name and I love those. This one was just not my cup of tea. However, I know a lot of people who enjoyed it, so I would recommend it to people who enjoy clean, Hallmark-style romances, but that is just NOT me.

What do you get when you combine cats, childhood best friends opening a cafe together, humor, and an opposites attract romance? A freaking charming holiday read.

Kara and Charity own Meow and Furever Cat Cafe (loveee the name). Unfortunately the business is struggling and they need to find a way to keep their doors open past the holidays.

Enter marketing genius Ben who has a plan to help and Kara happens to bump into one morning. Kara and Ben do not get off on the right foot (and I’m with Kara on this one, how can you trust someone who doesn’t like animals?!). However, when Ben agrees to foster the kitten he found a friendship forms and feelings start to grow.

Kara and Ben were down to earth and well rounded characters and I loved watching them grow (together and individually). They were also surrounded by some great side characters in Charity, Schwartz, Ben’s parent’s, and Mrs. Wyatt. These characters added such fun and wisdom to the story.

Also worth mention that at the beginning of each chapter there is a little “dating profile” for the cats. It was a super cute touch that I really enjoyed 🐱

This was my first by Codi Gary but I will definitely be reading more of her books!

This was cute! However, if you aren’t an extreme cat lover like me, A CAT CAFE CHRISTMAS may fall a little flat. Kara and Ben’s romance was sweet and I was entertained enough by the let’s-save-our-business subplot, but I otherwise wasn’t really blown away by the story overall. I also continuously forgot that this was a Christmas book throughout, so I’m surprised it’s marketed as so. I liked this, but would only recommend it to extreme cat lovers who are in the mood for some fluff.

What I absolutely loved about this book was, of course, the cats! 🐈🐈‍⬛ Each chapter starts with a fun cat bio and the cat cafe/rescue was a really sweet setting. Plus there are multiple happy ever afters here and it totally made my heart warm 💗

I’ll be honest though, I almost DNFd this one on the first 40 pages or so, but I’m really glad I didn’t. In the beginning both our main characters were a wee bit too grumpy and unreasonable and I’m sorry, but someone that doesn’t like animals is just plain weird and a huge turn off (spoiler alert: they come around 🙊) However, once these two calmed down I really enjoyed them both together and individually. I thought the author did great job of explaining the root of their trust issues and showing their real efforts on trying to move on. The friendships and support that these two were surrounded by and showed each other was also really lovely.

If you are looking for a Hallmark-y type book with cute cats, look no further! A light, warm-hearted read purrrrfect for this Christmas season. Did I love absolutely everything about this book? No. Did I enjoy it for what it was? Yes! Just the same as how I feel about watching cheesy Christmas movies! With this one come for the cats, stay for the vibes. Romance is fade to black (which I knew going in) so definitely look elsewhere if you are hoping for some steam!
