Zora that beautiful magical world where the dragons relocated when they were sent away from Earth ruled by the twin dragons, mixed fae and dragon children to Con and Rhi.  While the children have ruled with a capable hand trying to prevent the mistakes that were perpetuated by the original dragon kings on earth, despite their best intentions it seems that evil has found a way to root itself in Zora.  Dragon kings long asleep on earth have come one by one to see their brethren and the unmated dragons are on a quest to root out the evil and keep this land safe. Quiet, brooding, Shaw is one such dragon who breaches the gates of Stonemore to find out what's happening in the human populated citadel.
Shaw has barely gotten started on his mission when he meets Nia, a courtesan belonging to the Divine, the leader of Stonemore. Nia has grown up in a very hard school and will do what she must to protect her status quo and find her freedom if she can. Nia's mission is to capture a dragon king for her master. She has never failed on an assignment and is determined to succeed at all costs. Her attraction to Shaw is not real anyway, it's just because of his forbidden magic or so she believes.
Shaw finds himself tempted; Nia has managed to get beneath his barriers and wormed herself into his heart.  He knows that she's, his mate. Can he succeed in revealing the evil that is happening right under her eyes, get her on his side and foil the Divine? a tall order but he's going to give it his best.
The author has a whole new world where she can take familiar characters and continue spinning stories while adding a host of new characters and new species. I am enjoying discovering what new species will be introduced next in this magical realm of the imagination.

This one is a bit slow burn with Shaw taking his time with coming to realize that Nia is his one and only. When you've spent centuries convinced that you will never find your mate and consciously avoid seeking one, it's hard to recognize her when she's standing right in front of you.

For Nia, Shaw is her ticket to freedom from her lifelong service to the Divine. Never did she once think that she would play a role in upsetting the status quo in Stonemore. But this is what the Kings do when they see injustice being done to innocents.

Shaw has one mission at the moment and that is to figure out what the Divine wants to do to the people of Zora. While at the start of his mission he meets and is intrigued by a woman unlike any he has met before. He can't deny the urges he feels for the woman and figures that he might be able to learn something from her. Nia has never been in control of her own life, she does as the Divine says and Shaw is her next task. She is to seduce the man and figure out what he knows. Nia has never felt like this with a man before, Shaw makes her long for more and confusion wars with what she has been told. Follow along as Shaw and
Nia battle emotions and feelings neither expected to feel, will the two let love win in the end or will duty overcome it all?

DRAGON ETERNAL is the fourth instalment in Donna Grant’s adult DRAGON KINGS paranormal/fantasy romance series-a spin of from the author’s Dark Kings series. This is King of the Sapphire Dragons Shaw, and human female Nia’s story line. DRAGON ETERNAL can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion. The author does reveal the history between the dragons and humans.

SOME BACKGROUND: For tens of thousands of years the Dragons have lived and ruled on Earth but a war between the dragons and humans forced the Dragon Kings to send the other dragons through a portal into an unknown world. Fast forward to present day, the portal has been revealed, and the Dragon Kings have been reunited with their family and kin in Zora, but a new war is on the horizon between the Dragons, the Divine and the people of Stonemore.

Told from third person perspective DRAGON ETERNAL follows King of the Sapphire Dragons Shaw as he and Dragon King Merrill are tasked with uncovering the truth behind the power and purpose of the Divine. In Stonemore, children with magic are put to death, and in this, the Dragons want to end the killings before more children and magic are destroyed but Shaw never expected to meet Nia, a young woman supposedly cherished by the Divine, a young woman ordered to seduce our story line hero. Nia knew that to gain her freedom she would have to obey the Divine’s missive but Nia quickly found herself falling for a Dragon King, the beast she was ordered to seduce and captivate. Not all was going according to plan as Shaw fell for the woman who could have been his enemy, a woman he knew he would claim as his own. What ensues is the quick building romance and relationship between Nia and Shaw, and the potential fall-out as the Divine and his minions are desperate to capture a Dragon King for their own.

Meanwhile, Merrill has been working his way through the streets of Stonemore, in an effort to uncover the who, how and why of the Divine but Merrill has gone missing, and the Dragon King may be the next target for the Soldier Priests of the Divine. As Merrill searches for the truth, King of the Dragon King’s son Brandr, has ventured on his own, in an effort to ferret out an enemy he knows nothing about.

The relationship between Nia and Shaw is predicated upon a lie and an obsession. Nia is ordered to seduce our story line hero, and Shaw finds himself falling for a woman that calls to his heart. The $ex scenes are limited but intimate and passionate.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters including a number of the Dragon Kings we have met in the Dark Kings series, as well as Con and Rhi, alchemist Sian, Tamlyn and Cullen, Merrill, Villette, Henry the Druid, and the return of Teal Dragon King Vaughn, and his mate half fae-half dragon hybrid Eurwen, Eurwen’s brother and twin Brandr, and Nia’s hand maiden Sadie. The requisite evil has many faces.

DRAGON ETERNAL is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, relationships, friendships, family and love. The premise is intriguing and captivating; the romance is fated; the characters are powerful and charismatic.

Another spellbinding Dragon read

I've been a fan of Donna Grant's Dragon Kings since they were first introduced into her Dark World. I have devoured every King's story and waited impatiently for the next one. DRAGON ETERNAL is the fourth book in her newest spinoff series Dragon Kings. If you haven't read the previous books, it is not a necessity, however I do strongly advise you do as there is an underlying story arc that flows through all the books. Anyway, enough of that, it's now time to meet Shaw, the King of Sapphires, and Nia, a courtesan in the city of Stonemore.

Shaw, along with Merrill, has been called to Zora. Thinking they would be spending time with other dragons, Shaw was disappointed to learn they were being sent to Stonemore. There they were to do some investigating into the mysterious being known as The Divine. There, Shaw the usually silent dragon king, meets Nia, a young woman who has been charged with seducing him and delivering him to The Divine. Suddenly the quiet Shaw can't keep his mouth shut, and his words enthrall Nia. The two begin to fall for one another and form a friendship (a hot one at that), even though they were meant to be on opposing sides. As their relationship flourishes, Shaw realises that Nia is becoming more than a friend, she's his mate, but how can he convince her? Danger is closing in on them though, who is bringing it and why?

While Shaw and Nia are the main characters in this story, Merril and Brandr also have subplots. Both are doing their own "detective work" regarding the reason children with magic are being killed, who The Divine is, and the reason behind the humans fearing the dragons and anything to do with magic. The tension is thick throughout this story, with all actions and thoughts leading to the possibility of war on Zora.

Once again Donna Grant has brought tension, suspense, and mystery to the world of the dragons. I'm sure Donna's imagination has no limits, as she's always mesmerising me with her vivid descriptions. DRAGON ETERNAL was a spellbinding read and I cannot wait for more.

What a thrilling read. The Dragon Kings are back but this time they are Zora and they are looking foe something that is killing the Dragons. Zora is a spectacular realm everything is just better but there is an unknown enemy that needs to be stop. Shaw & Merrill have been tasked with finding out what they can but they have to go in undetected as magic isn't allowed in Stonemore and it is ruled by the Divine who rule with an iron fist. Can they find out what is going on without giving themselves away?
Nia knows that she has to do the new directive from the Divine but this time she has been promised her freedom. She knows that this is her only chance to be free but everything becomes complicated when she meets Shaw.
They are both using each other but Shaw knows that he has to get Nia away from Stonemore but will she come with him? Now that he knows that he has fallen for Nia can he get her to agree to be his?
Merrill is following a strange woman that he met and she promised to help him get out of the citadel but can he really trust her?
The Kings know that war is coming to Zora and they will have to defend their people no matter what.
Another great read from Donna. Love seeing old characters and learning how much things have changed. Good to see Henry if only for a moment. Love the vibrant description of the dragons and their colours.
Thank you Netgalley & the publisher for the ARC copy. This is my voluntary review.

This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was steamy, held my interest and I didn't want to put it down. I wanted to find out what would happen and I didn't want it to end. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books by this author.

Another great book in the Dragon King series! The story line really grabs you. And there’s a lot of depth to Shaw and Nia. Great book!!

Shaw, King of the Sapphires – Dragon Eternal is his story. The fourth book in the “Dragon King” series does not disappoint. The character depth is again amazing, the intricate details of Zora still draw the reader in. The intrigue around what is trying to kill the Dragon Kings is still building the suspense, and the heat between Nia and Shaw is without a doubt sizzling hot. The intensity of the romance is only paralleled by the adventure and once you pick it up, you won’t put it down…. Want to find out more? Make this a “must-read.” Donna Grant once again pours her heart and soul into Shaw and Nia’s story – and the mystery in Zora keeps the adventure moving forward. You will not be disappointed!

Dragon Eternal is the fourth book 8pm the Dragon king series. Shaw, King of the Sapphires is on Zora helping to find information about the leader of Stonemore, The Divine. While undercover in Stonemore, Shaw meets And falls for Nia. While you don’t need to have read any of the other series before but I would recommend it. It really helps with feeling invested in this world. However Donna does do a great job of putting enough history into each book so you won’t be totally lost. As always I highly recommend this story and the series as a whole.

Donna Grant’s entire Dark World has to be one of my favorite world/series and it’s certainly my favorite of hers. The original Dark King’s, Constantine and his Kings, will always hold a special place in my heart, but this new world that Ms. Grant is building, while it is still full of dragons, is so very different and very captivating. This book is for Shaw and Nia, and delves deeper into this new conflict for the Kings. I really enjoyed this book, it was intense and this series in general has a darker feeling to it. I liked Shaw’s character, he was stubborn but also open minded and I felt Nia was a different female character that what we’ve seen in the Dark world before. We also get more of a look into Con and Rhi’s son, Bran. It’s like getting a little more of a glimpse into him with each book. I can’t wait to see what the next book will bring, especially after the new characters that were introduced and some old that have returned.

Ugh. I’m still not over the fact that some of Donna’s Dark King books are published by another publisher. And therefore not offered as arcs. So, now I kinda missed out on the fact that Rhi and Con had children?! And they rule an entire new world?! Of course I’m beyond pleased that we can continue to read about my favorite shapeshifting dragons. But still… children already?!

This new world, Zora, has been created by Erith (yep Death herself) as a sanctuary for all the dragon’s who had to flee earth.

But part of this world is inhabited by humans. Humans who are ruled by the Divine. And who are taught that magic is dangerous and forbidden.

Nia has been a slave for as long as she can remember. But now, she has her freedom almost at the tips of her fingers.

She has one last assignment from the Divine: seek out one of the two Dark Kings who are roaming the city and make him fall in love with her. And then deliver him to the Divine. Shaw is send on an assignment to investigate the rumors that someone is killing children with magic in the city Stonemore on Zora.

When he meets Nia, he realizes she can provide him with some information. So, Shaw sticks around. He didn’t anticipate to actually have feelings for the courageous woman. Even when he learns, she was on an assignment to seduce him.

But there are strange powers at work and Shaw and Nia need to be careful. Because maybe the Dark Kings aren’t the most powerful beings on Zora. worried yet? Check out yet another wonderful story from Donna! Can’t wait for the next.

Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

Good story. Another enemy and a new realm. Quite a few mentions of events/characters from previous series - The Reapers and Dark Kings (previous Dragon King books) Series. Beneficial to have any of the other series so you are familiar with who they are talking about. I have missed a few books so there was information that was new to me.

Now was taken as a child and serves the Divine as a slave. She lives I. Pretty plush surroundings but she is still a slave and if she fails to do as she is told it could mean her death. The road to where she currently is in life has been harsh.

Being sent after Shaw changes things for her. They have to work through the fact that Nia is there to seduce and betray him but all works out.

From the time she was taken off the streets as a child, Nia has been forced to serve as slave to the Divine. Using guided by her wits and her intelligence, she has done what she needs to survive. Now with a promise of freedom as her prize, she is tasked with discovering the secrets of a man who terrifies her, until she meets him. Instead she finds feeling safe and cared for for the first time in her life.

Shaw, king of the Turquoise, is a man of few words, quiet, reserved. His latest mission is to discover everything he can of the leader of Stonemore, What is his plan for his people, why is he intent on killing children believed to have magic, and just what is his interest in the Dragon Kings.

Shaw is drawn to Nia from their first, accidentally meeting. He is drawn to her beauty, her strength and her will to survive. And in helping her to learn who she is, Nia’s eyes are opened to the reality of the life she has been living and to the ugliness and deceit of the rulers she has been serving. Together with Shaw, she is determined to take a stand and to stop the evil no matter the cost.

Donna Grant’s latest entry into her Dragon King series has a bit of a darker feel than many of the earlier entries. It heralds a turn in the saga. This series never gets tired, it never gets boring. Each new entry in the series has an originality that keeps the series fresh and exciting. And I can’t wait to see what surprises are to come.

DRAGON ETERNAL gives readers so many plots and subplots that it would be easy to get lost but have no fear Ms. Grant weaves a beautifully written, cohesive book that flows perfectly.

On Zora
I have to say that I miss the Dragon Kings having stories located on Earth. The challenges that were presented here were mostly believable; at least if you believed in dragons. On Zora, and Earth clone, I know that they could be real, but more than likely not. So, my review is for the story between Shaw, a Dragon King, and Nia who is a courtesan for the ruler “the Divine”. They meet in the city that belongs to “the Divine” because Shaw and Merrill, another King, have been sent to gather information on this person, and the inhabitants of the city. Shaw becomes enamored of the beautiful Nia, and because of Shaw, she starts to question her own actions in acting on behalf of “the Divine”. The story takes a while to move to the exciting ending, with bits of what is happening with Merrill, and with the Dragon part of Zora. Donna Grant gives us just a glimpse of what is going on with Con and his fellow Dragon Kings, Rhi, and the dragons who have made Zora their home. Wish that more had been written on this part- for as important a character as Constantine is, it seems that his intelligence and abilities as King of Dragon Kings isn’t useful on Zora. The interplay between the Dragon Kings is what kept me involved and interested in prior books.
This book is well written, and the two main characters are fairly well developed. The story that takes place in the city is interesting, if a bit long. The ending is definitely a 5-star ending. But the overall book only deserves 4 stars- scenes of personal interaction are great but don’t make the slower parts deserving of more stars. Donna Grant is a wonderful writer, who writes interesting books. She continues to give readers reasons to enjoy her books. This book is interesting, but the first half or so seemed to take forever to read. A new reader should read the prior books in this part of the series- Dragon Kings- so that they understand the world it’s written in.
I did receive an ARC of the book from the author through NetGalley, and this is my honest opinion.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of Dragon Eternal by Donna Grant. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to Netgalley for providing an ARC to review.

First off, I want to say that I appreciate Shaw and Nia as a couple. They had some great chemistry together, and I was happy to read about their romance. Nia especially had a great back story with layers which made her story interesting. Shaw, not as much, but I could ignore that since they did have good chemistry. My only complaint is I didn't really connect with the world-building that much. I don't know if it was just me or the fact I haven't read previous books from the series. Either way, I give this book 3/5 stars. It was enjoyable, but nothing I would read a second time.

Dragon Eternal is a wickedly breathtaking and wildly untamed journey of a preciously unexpected love waiting to be discovered and claimed. This story will tear your heart to pieces as you uncover a devastating past that must collide with a harsh and cruel reality. While Fate has a plan set, others are working hard to destroy it before it can see the light of day. When the heart gets involved sanity and logic take a backseat to pure magic and unreal joy. Never turn your back on the heart because it will do whatever is necessary to get your attention.

Shaw is tired. He is tired of the agony and loneliness of his existence. He just wants some peace and to sleep for another few millenia. When he is charged with completing a relatively simple mission he knows he can't turn it down. Finding his greatest treasure will test every strength he posses and the depth of his will to not only hold onto it but to keep it forever. Nia has molded her life by the force of her will to become something tolerable. Having been given no choice in the path she is walking, she makes the best she can of it. When Fate throws a dangerous and lethal man in her path, she has no choice but to do the will of those above her. Can Shaw show Nia that she can find peace and happiness in this life, or will others obliterate what little hope she has left?

Nia and Shaw are such a delicious couple who stole my heart and refuses to give it back. My heart bled for them both at the depth and intensity of their loss. I was shocked they still had hope burning inside for the possibility of more, but that showed me just how resilient and fathomless their potential truly is. They are marvelous characters who spoke light and wonder into my soul. These can only have been born from the mind of a creative savant.

Donna Grant is a true marvel and a literary genius when it comes to creating and imbuing her characters and her world with sparks of dangerous hope, dashes of boundless opportunity, and storms of sizzling passion. Nothing is better then diving deep into a book by the ingenius Donna Grant. She will never disappoint.

Dragon Eternal the fourth book in the Dragon Kings Series by Donna Grant takes the reader back to Zora. From the third book information came to the dragons concerning the sacrificing of children by the Divine. I won’t say more but there seems to be a lot of misrepresenting the truth to the population by the Divine. Then there is the threat from the new enemy. Is it a different one part of the same group of mortals? Much to learn as the story goes with this new overarching theme.

The Dragon Kings find it impossible not to seek the truth then to protect the innocent. Shaw, Dragon King of the Sapphire, and another are sent to search out any and all knowledge to be found n Stonemore. He becomes involved with Nia, a courtesan slave to the Divine. Very complex happenings. As Shaw said, “All I’m saying is you shouldna see people or things as either good or bad..” Then “Remember that there are a hundred different sides to every story.” That actually describes this book to a T. Few answers, many questions. One great love story completed in the middle of it all.

Recommend to all dragon fans out there. Read in order.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Donna Grant returns with another installment to the Dragon Kings series. I honestly love the whole dragon theme to this series. It’s refreshing thing to see amongst a sea of shifters, vampires and fae in the Paranormal Romance genre, and I believe that this dragon series by Donna Grant is one of the better ones out there.

There’s a lot of details concerning the worldbuilding and actually, this world expands in some of Grant’s other series as well, so if you love this one, I would definitely recommend checking out her other series as well.

I enjoy the flowing writing and intense, passionate scenes. Donna Grant’s Paranormal Romances are just some of my favorite due to the fact that she sticks to what she’s good at. I can definitely see myself rereading this book in the future.
