Thanks to Sekai Bunka Publishing and NetGalley for the advanced copy!

Not too much to say about this one. It was a simple story with sweet illustrations. In the whole wide world there is only one “you”. You are special and irreplaceable! The translations are accurate, and I love that I was able to practice reading hiragana while reading this. It’s truly a cute little story!

This was a really cute read about embracing our specialness no matter our age! Also, I think it's great that this is a Japanese title dealing with this topic since uniformity is often valued in Japan even among children.

Thank you Netgalley and Sekai Bunka Publishing Inc for providing me with this copy. I am grateful but my thoughts are my own.

What a wonderful me! is my first Japanesse translated children book. It is adorable and fill with dual languages short poetic sentences. The illustrations is colorful and adorable. I can see this book interest our children expecially when they all intriguing with the idea to learn another language. I will appreciate additional list hiragana and katakana to enrich the reading experience.

A lovely picture book that portrays sense of worth in a young child. Such an important thing for a child to learn to give them confidence, bravery, and justification in life. I also love that it in both languages.

Beautiful illustrations partially make up for a bland storyline. While message is certainly valuable, it is presented very simply.

What a wonderful me! is a beautiful story about being yourself told from the perspective of a child; each child has their own specialties, which I believe Kusunogi-san wishes to convey through this book, which is complemented by beautiful illustrations by Yoko-San. But what I like best is that the Hiragana text includes its English translation, which makes me want to learn Japanese all over again.

This was a darling story. I loved the message “there is only one me.” The illustrations were colorful and would attract children of all ages. I enjoyed how it had two languages woven in.
As a teacher, I would add this story to my collection. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

What a Wonderful Me! is a great book to help children develop self-esteem and socio-emotional skills. I loved that it is written in both English and Japanese… If anything, I wish they had given us a melody for the song at the end.

** Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for the ARC in return for an honest review. **

この本、とっても可愛いです。だから好きです。
Ok so I mainly requested this book to practice my hiragana reading, it's not as easy to find children level Japanese books around. But the illustrations were just so cute. Overall it's a very entertaining children's book. It definitely shows the distinct Japanese literature, which is different from the western ones. Very lovely.
ありがとうございます。
