Thank you, Meadowlark, for the advance reading copy.

I love how obsessed we get with a very particular thing/activity we enjoy.

I love how the book presents with several collections of different marbles which are put to use in different forms.

However, I wish the presentation was a bit more attractive and the cover has a better option out of the many good pictures in the book.

Sounding a bit daft but not quite what I thought it was going to be. A bit of a strange one to be quite honest! Interesting if interested in marbles... yes marbles. Unfortunately I'm not really so a bit of a difficult read sorry!

I had an uncle that collected marbles and it was fascinating listening to him talk about marbles. He would travel around his regional area collecting and I always found marbles fascinating since I was a child. I am from the generation where we would play them. We'd draw a circle in chalk and then have our big marble and play to see who was left inside the circle last.

This book has a lot of text in it which I was pleasantly surprised by which explained the history of marbles and collecting. I felt it was unusual and unique and had much value to the world of marble collecting and why something so simple as a piece of round glass holds such a lot of story in it. Now I mostly just see big jars of marbles as a decor item and the last few generations that don't play marbles like we used to but thank goodness marbles are still around.

I would like to thank NetGalley, the publisher Meadowlark for the opportunity to read and review 'Marble Shorts' by Cathy Callen.
