On one hand, Weaver was a fun, fast-paced read. Very light urban fantasy, with all manner of dream-walking/magic, and I was here for that. The writing is beautiful, very specific and lyrical, which fits the story. The mc is proactive and refreshingly kind.

But on the whole, Weaver did strike me as very young YA—the main relationship is very much insta-love, and the LI was far too over-the-top ‘perfect’ (except when he went stomping off in a tantrum…). The amount of times he said something to the effect of ‘anything for you my beautiful queen of the world who I love and would do anything for’ was entirely too much, and pulled me out of the story every time. The villain was very caricatured, and the resolution very quick and easy.

I had mixed feelings, but it was still a quick, fun read.

Thankful to Netgalley and the publisher for this arc!

Alone in her cottage in the woods, hereditary witch, Milly, longs for connection. But when it comes to her in the form of a dream weaver, she gets more than she bargains for.

I LOVED this short witchy read so much that I instantly ordered a copy for my a friend who also love witchy reads. Milly's journey was all it hoped it would be and more, and the dynamic between her and her love interest, The Weaver, reminded me so much of Addie LaRue. While parts felt rushed and could have been more fully fleshed out, I still walked away feeling very satisfied. I suspect that's partly due to the author's ability to weave ritual magic into the plot, but also because this book was so atmospheric. It certainly reignited my desire for all things witchy, which means there will be more witchy books in my feed well in advance of spooky season. Be sure to add this to your witchy read TBR this Fall!

Thanks to NetGalley for the advance copy of this book!

Milly a 19 year old witch, lives a solitary life with only her familiar and the local librarian as friends! She has only experienced romance in the pages of books until she literally meets The Man of Her Dreams aka the Weaver!

I loved the idea of this story but the actual book just fell totally short for me, I struggled with flat characters, lack of back story (mother mysteriously dies and her 13year old continues to live in the woods by herself🙄) and the insta love(a trope I don't mind if the story is worth it) really dodgy romance! I did however enjoy the cottage core kitchen witch vibes! I could go on but I'd be ranting, this just wasn't for me but we all can't enjoy every book right?

This book was an absolute gem! It was a comforting cup of hot peppermint tea on a cold autumn night by the fire, a delightful spring walk in a garden full of delicate beautiful flowers and fragrant herbs, a dip in a lake on a hot summer day, and the balm for my aching soul. I really liked the modern day practicing witch Milly who lived a solitary life in a cottage with her kitty “familiar” surrounded by her garden and a forest. I absolutely adored her for her strength, independence, kindness, and for her connection to nature and her mom via traditions, magic, and never ending love. I liked Roarke from the very first time he appeared in the story but I shared Milly’s cautious and somewhat anxious feelings towards him and the whole situation they ended up in. I enjoyed their dreamscapes adventures just as much as the intimate love story and the magic aspect. The sprinkle of aromatherapy, spells and mystery was a perfect touch. Thank you NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in and exchange for an honest review.

So firstly I’d like to thank Net galley for the opportunity to read this!

Have you ever gotten the ick for a book? This one really did it for me, I was so excited as the synopsis looked super intriguing but I found the 20% I managed a struggle. The MC bugged me and I felt the story fell flat and there wasn’t enough too it. Huge disappointment for me!

Have you ever read the synopsis of a book, and thought ooooowwww this looks good, and then to start reading and get the ick straight away? Yeah, this was one of those for me, in the ten percent I managed to get through I came up with these thoughts, the main character Milly seriously has some boundary issues, and the writer hasn’t thought the plot through, I mean come on, your mum just keels over one day when your thirteen and what, you live on your own in a cottage in the woods by yourself for then on, with only a local librarian as your only friend?
I’m sorry but this book is firmly in my nope pile!

Weaver was a quiet yet intriguing story about a young nine-teen year old witch who lives a private and lonely life. After being visited in her dreams by a mysterious and handsome man, she decides she won't live without him and forms a plan to make it happen. Things aren't what they seem and there are age old secrets that could either make things worse or set them free.

The story telling was enjoyable and reminded me of Sarah Penner's writing, if you enjoyed The Lost Apothecary, then you're sure to enjoy Weaver. Even though this was listed under YA and was very clean, it was written with more maturity than most in that category..

I enjoyed the connection between the lead lady and her man but wish she had been more open about what she was doing behind her back, the communication would have helped.

All the feels when the book club showed up at her door ! :'-)

Overall this was easy and an enjoyable read that held my attention the entire time and would recommend it.

This book was an okay read I would have said it was more for the younger audience.
The story line was a bit confusing here and there but got there eventually.
I wish there was more world and character building so I connected with the characters more as it is a relatively fast passed story.

Overall it was an okay read.

Weaver by Tish Thawer attracted my eye with its beautiful cover image. The story of a young woman, a witch, searching for the man in her dreams was another appeal. Weaver is a story that can be compared to a placid lake flowing serenely without causing any ripples or flutters.

Milly is content to be alone in the world, spending time with her 'familiar' in her garden trying to follow all her mother’s teachings to live as happily as possible. Her only contact in the outside world is a librarian who provides companionship for her lonely heart. So it was not really surprising for Milly to fall headlong into a relationship with Roarke the man in her dreams.

The concept of a dream weaver influencing dreams around the world and the search for his Queen were quite intriguing and the author has developed the plot in a fascinating way. The dreamy world that is conceived by the author helps the reader to travel along with the protagonists to different parts of the world and I loved the different places the story has been set in. What I would have loved in the story is more depth into the relationship that develops between Milly and Roarke, the love is instant which is quite understandable seeing that Roarke has been searching for hundreds of years and Milly knows in her soul that Roarke is the one, however, the problem I had is that Roarke’s character remains like this confusing enigma. Just like Milly, there is so much of his magic that was not completely clear, and that part of the story, I believe could have been fleshed out better.

Weaver is easily an enjoyable read without much angst or involvement, a fast-paced read that was good for afternoon fun.

Overall this was a really good read. I really despised how Millie trusted Roarke so easily when she literally just met him. I feel like the relationship between those two could have progressed a lot slower. It seemed like she was all in from the beginning than started to regret her choices. Regardless, the plot was great. The idea of a dream weaver was very interesting and it was amazing to see how they were able to go and do anything while in dreams. I really like how Millie thought a lot about her mom and what she would have told her in that current moment of need. It’s a very good read that is relatively short. I do wish that the beginning was a little bit different, but I think the magic in the story really hooked me in and made me keep reading.

The story was unique and magical. It was fast-paced and a quick read. The story plots are well-written and give you a sense of being within the story itself.

The main characters are immature and usually act on a whim. The romance was a bit hasty. There were no charming passages that give you a feeling of an inexplicable joy one would expect in a young adult romance theme. The world-building is well developed. I would prefer to know more about Rourke's parents too.

The story follows Milly, a nineteen-year-old solitary witch who lives in a cottage she inherited from her parents. She earns a living through planting and only has a librarian for a friend.

In her dreams, she usually sees the same guy pursuing her. Equipped with the heritage magic she has, she wants to know who that guy is.

I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to a younger audience. I look forward to reading more of the author's works.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read and leave an honest review for this book.

This was a super fast fantasy read and I love the witch world it gives but I will say a lot of stuff is going on in a short amount of time. I feel like it was very rushed and was lacking a lot of info.

Also the concept of Milly falling for Roarke in literally like 2 days was weird for me. I feel like the story should have been slowed down and there should have been more world/story building. Like I said previously it all felt rushed. The last few chapters is when everything happened and ended.

This book gave kid vibes, so in my opinion I feel like this book would be for 8-12 year olds. It did have like two curse words in it but the story felt very kiddy like to me. The writing to me seemed very child like with the way the characters spoke to one another. It didn’t feel like they were adults even though Milly was 19. If they hadn’t said an age at all; I honestly would’ve thought they were children. I’m not saying the story was bad at all. It was a fun read, I just wish it was, I don’t know, more. I wish there was more to it if that makes sense.

I gave this book 3 stars.

Weaver is a young adult fantasy story about a witch named Milly who is literally looking to meet the man of her dreams.

Milly has spent most of her life practicing her magic alone. . Her only real friend in the world is Keelyn, the local librarian, whom she visit when she needs to do research. Her day life seems pretty normal for a young witch, but at night she enters a magical dreamworld where she meets the Weaver, Roarke, who she has an immediate attraction to. (warning - it's an insta-love) It turns out that Milly's destiny may be intertwined with Roarke's, but at what cost?

As the relationship progresses, Milly wants to spend more time in the Dreamworld. But is this dangerous? And what about Roarke? Does he love her, or does he have an ulterior motive?

I throroughly enjoyed this book up to the end. I felt like the last 20% got a little convuluted and confusing for a bit.. That being said, I really did enjoy this whole book.

Thank you to the author, the publisher and to #netgalley for the ARC which did not impact my review.

Weaver held my attention from the very first page. I loved how Thawer dived straight into it and it was a fast paced. The character development that the main character goes through was great and I loved the magic system. I am looking forward to reading more from Tish Thawer in the future.

This YA contemporary fantasy standalone is just the right medicine to cure a book hangover. Fast-paced and romantic, Tish Thawer wraps you into the pages with her exceptional writing. Millie and the Weaver are just the right combination for a good romance story. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Thank you to NetGalley for the review.

This book was like a lazy Sunday afternoon - very lulling and gentle. And I also like how poetic and beautiful the witches’ spells are which work as spells and as a motivational drive to our main character, Milly. Despite the main goal of Milly being ‘Male’ driven, a good percentage of the characters were women, supporting women, and goal-driven women which is well thought of. So big thanks to the author for that.

I think, the flip side was the pace of the story which was not rushed. And I’m still a bit confused regarding the relationship between Milly and the Weaver’s power. But character wise, I appreciate the relentlessness of Milly in her research and to get to the bottom of things, and for her support system. And did I mention that she has a cat? Milly has a cat. And the cat’s amazing!

Actual rating 3.5 ⭐

When I read this book, I got this peaceful reading from the start. I love how the author make this look like a fairy tale magic world with witch, garden, all the plants mention, small cabin in the forest and this beautiful dreamscape, my mind going crazy imagining all this beautiful things. The author have a great writing and it makes me fall in love with the world quickly.

The plot is fast at first, because directly we will introduce to the two main characters and what will they doing in this book. At first we will focus about the dreamscape concept and how Milly and Roarke build their relationship slowly. But, this is not a really safe relationship, because despite of Milly feelings from the start, she still has many doubts toward Roarke and it's make sense because how could you believe people you just met and met in your dreams I must say. After that we change to slow paced, we just enjoy the time between Roarke and Milly with Milly confusion and doubts of course. Almost half of the book I think we will see the real conflict that will happen in this book.

The conflict itself is great, I love the concept about Queen of Nightmare and how it will affect Milly. But, I'm not really satisfied with how the things resolved at the end. I'm not sure if this is because of the "war" and the spell of magic not really strong present but I feel like something is missing. But actually I love how Milly says her spell in this book, well it more like a pray instead of spell.

For the characters I can say I really love them. I think I just like them enough. Milly is smart and brave but too much confusion from her and I'm not really sure I like it. Meanwhile Roarke is describe as beautiful and hot, but his presence is not really strong. I'm not really sure how big is his magic as it not shown enough, I'm sure for one thing that he really love Milly and adore her that what I get when I read the book.

Weaver is a young adult fantasy story about a witch named Milly who is literally looking to meet the man of her dreams. Milly has spent most of her life practicing her hereditary magic alone with her familiar, Jinx. Her only real friend in the world is Keelyn, the local librarian, whom she visit when she needs to do research or borrow her car. Her day life seems pretty normal for a young witch, but at night she enters a magical dreamworld where she meets the Weaver, Roarke, who she has an immediate attraction to. It turns out that Milly's destiny may be intertwined with Roarke's, but at what cost?

While the story sounded intriguing enough, the delivery for me fell a little flat. The characters had little development and the world building was a bit lacking. The relationship building came across as one where one party is so gullible as to believe anything the other is saying to the point of them being manipulated to be in the relationship. I found the main character to be one that I could not connect with at all as she was a loner witch who had no real interest in wanting to make a meaningful connection with the real world. The only part of the story I really liked was Jinx, her familiar.
