The Apple Creek Announcement is book three in the Creektown Discoveries that is written by Wanda E. Brunstetter. Andrea Wagner has found out that she is adopted. She wants to find her birth mother so bad that she pushes away her boyfriend, Brandon Prentice, a local veterinarian. She has always really liked painting pictures of Amish Landscapes and she has felt drawn to that world. Her whole focus shifts to trying to find her birth mother before her and Brandon get married.

The Apple Creek Announcement

by Wanda Brunstetter

Bad things can happen when secrets are held close. Wanda Brunstetter focuses on this theme of honesty in relationships in The Apple Creek Announcement. Andrea’s parents have kept a secret from her for thirty-three years. When it is accidentally revealed, it affects her relationship with them as well as with her fiancé. There is another couple with a secret, but they are mature Christians and handle the revelation with prayer and kindness to each other. In fact, praying to God for daily guidance as well as for help in times of difficulties is another theme of this book as God uses some of the characters to share His wisdom with others. They feel like they are called to help others in this way. A third theme is reconciliation and forgiveness while there is still time.

This is a sweet, gentle book. The first part sets the stage. There is a dramatic twist in the second part of the book, and complications take off from there. I liked Andrea and her fiancé
Brandon at first, but less so in their responses to Andrea’s crisis. They truly weren’t listening to each other or being very practical about the problem. Despite this, I really wanted a happy ending for them. The characters and the reader are recipients of a surprise resolution that leaves everyone smiling.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Memorable Lines:

Lois had no idea whether her dad had heard anything she’d said to him or not, but even in her sadness, a sense of peace settled over her like a soft blanket. She felt God’s presence, whispering in her ear, “My grace is sufficient for thee.”

“…God knows about whatever problems we may have to face in this life, so the best thing to do when dealing with any kind of situation beyond our control is to pray about it and let the Lord work things out.”

Despondency clung to him like a wet garment, only he couldn’t take it off.

The Apple Creek Announcement by Wanda E Brunstetter – Mixed Emotions

Wanda E Brunstetter has become one of my favorite writers and I looked forward to reading her newest book The Apple Creek Announcement, Creektown Discoveries, volume 3.

Reading one of Wanda’s books is like catching up with old friends, especially Orley and Lois Troyer. They own an antique store and want to engage with and to help the customers who visit their store. In The Apple Creek Announcement, readers are introduced to Andrea and her boyfriend, soon to be fiancé, Brandon Prentice. Andrea is a piano teacher and a painter who sells her artwork capturing local Amish scenes. Brandon is the town’s veterinarian. Their relationship seems to be going well until Andrea learns about a lifelong secret her parents have kept. It throws her for a loop, and her focus has changed.

Two of my favorite characters are Orley and Lois. I’m glad these characters are included in this novel. I enjoyed their storyline in this book. They seem very kind and caring.

I had a hard time with Andrea and Brandon. At first, I found them very boring. Their romance kind of fell flat, wasn’t believable. Once there were developments in the story, these two characters became more interesting.

Unfortunately, I didn’t much care for the main character Andrea. She seemed spiritually immature. She reacted emotionally and didn’t turn to God in prayer or to the Bible. Even towards the end of the book, her character didn’t acknowledge wrong behavior and attitudes on her part. Andrea held on to anger, resentment and blamed her parents. She seemed to play the victim and blame everyone. If her character had developed and grown over time, repented and turned to God, it would have come across as different. Brandon was more likable, and he seemed more mature, willing to examine if he had made the right decision. He sought wisdom and good counsel from an older believer.

I found it odd that when Andrea and Brandon were engaged, that one of the obstacles they encountered were their pets not getting along. You would think that a vet would have clue on how to help the situation.

A couple of things that should have been left out was Andrea trying to calm her nerves with lavender essential oil. If the character was a Christian, she should have turned to God’s word and prayer. Some advice that Orley gave Brandon wasn’t the best. He told him to pray…good! Then he said God may give you a “sign”. No! Examples of those in the Bible who asked for a sign were descriptive, not prescriptive. It was before they had the Bible, God’s Word.

I rather liked Andrea’s friend, Colleen. She seemed to genuinely care about Andrea and was straightforward with her and Brandon.

Something I appreciated about The Apple Creek Announcement is that it’s clean, and the Gospel of Christ and word of God are shared. I look forward to reading more of Wanda’s books in the future.

If you’ve read the earlier books in this series, you may want to read The Apple Creek Announcement by Wanda E Brunstetter.

I would like to thank Barbour Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to read a complimentary copy The Apple Creek Announcement by Wanda E Brunstetter. I was under no obligation to give a favorable review.

Love the last book in the series and Wanda did not disappoint. Secrets from the past have a way of creeping to the surface. The story and characters are amazing. I am sad to see this end and have grown fond of Orley and Lois. They are young at heart and always have encouraging words for visitors. Andrea must come to terms with a secret she learns and the surprise ending. I highly recommend this book to all.

Loved this so much. Well written without being base or evocative just to sell books. Character driven and very engaging writing. Excellently plotted and paced with the readers never unaware of what was transpiring beyond the page.

This is as always a very sweet story of love and very inspirational. I love Orley and Lois. Andrea and Brandon are great characters also. I love that there are many twists and turns in this story. This story kept me wondering till close to the end what was going to happen. I loved how Andrea and Brandon solved their problems. I received a copy of this book from Barbour Publishing for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

Thank you to Netgalley and Barbour Publishing for this digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I love Wanda E. Brunstetter; however, this wasn't my favorite book of hers. It was very slow getting started and many scenes seemed like they were just there but didn't further the plot. I did like the ending. Even though this book wasn't for me, I would totally read another one by this author.

The Apple Creek Announcement by Wanda Brunstetter is book three in her Creektown Discoveries series. Lois and Orley Troyer are still happily running their antique store, Memory Keepers, and hoping to be able to offer help to those in need. When a young lady named Andrea comes in to the store to have a quilt appraised, she meets the Troyers and loves their store. Andrea is engaged to be married, but during a family event she discovers that she was adopted and never told. She is floored by this news and very upset. This begins a huge endeavor to find her birth parents. However, she begins to neglect her fiancé Brandon and things get difficult between them, eventually causing a rift in their relationship. Can the two find their way back together? And will Andrea find her birth parents? I have to say, this is my favorite of the three books, although I enjoyed them all. I didn't see the end coming at all and was pleasantly surprised by it. I hope that you enjoy it too!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to read and review. All opinions are my own.

Sadly, THE APPLE CREEK ANNOUNCEMENT is the last story in The Creektown Discoveries trilogy. Oh how I love a Wanda Brunstetter story! She had my emotions all over the place. Once I started reading THE APPLE CREEK ANNOUNCEMENT it was very hard to stop! The twists and turns made it impossible to put down, as I had to know what was going to happen to Andrea after finding out she was adopted and pushing things aside with Brandon who is wanting to marry her! What an awesome story. All of Wanda’s characters feel genuine and relatable and put your emotions on one heck of a roller coaster ride. As you are reading, you will find yourself cheering for all of them, praying they can work out their problems and be happy once again.

Once you start reading THE APPLE CREEK ANNOUNCEMENT it will be very hard to stop! Wanda sure knows how to put a new twist on Amish fiction! Trust is the main lesson in this wonderful story. Can we put our trust in God to right our troubles in our lives if it is his will? This story definitely makes you think about that question.

THE APPLE CREEK ANNOUNCEMENT is without a doubt one of the best Amish books I’ve read in 2022 so far. I was instantly emotionally invested in all of the characters. Wanda Brunstetter is such a wonderful and heart tugging author and she had me laughing and crying on the very same page. I am now going to read all of her previous books that I have somehow missed as she is now an auto buy author for me! THE APPLE CREEK ANNOUNCEMENT made me very sad to have to say goodbye to this wonderful trilogy. Grab your copy today and get on the couch!

This is the third in the series, although they are great as standalone reads as well. I have to say I enjoyed the other ones better but this one was good and I am so grateful for the opportunity to read it.

Wonderful continuation of this series! It was riveting, and the characters were well developed. Just before the wedding, Andrea finds out that she was adopted just before her wedding. Will she push he fiancee out of her life to find her birth mother? Or will she embrace both her mother and her fiancee?

It is a book of Faith and romance and unexpected turns in their lives. I loved to see Orley and Lois Troyer from the Antique store and her Dear Caroline letters. This was another great book from Wanda Brunstetter. She knows how to keep you wanting more in her books. I thank NetGalley and the publisher to allow me to read and give my opinion. I do believe this was my favorite book in this series. Maybe even my most favorite book by Wanda Brunstetter. It had romance, faith, and suspense. The details throughout the book were so unexpected and kept me on my toes wondering what was going to happen next. Not only the suspense of Andrea finding out who her mother was but if she and Brandon were actually going to work things out after she found her birth mother. Speaking of birth mother. I totally didn't see that coming. This book definitely didn't disappoint and was a good read!

This is the third book in the Creektown Discoveries series and while it can be read as a stand alone do yourself a favor and read the other two first to get the background of the story.
I just love the characters Lois and Orley who own an antique/junk shop. This Amish couple is very friendly and warm giving out advice if it's asked for. They are also a very religious couple.
Artist Andrea Wagner is satisfied with life, it's ordinary and she's okay with that. She's engaged to be married to her boyfriend Brandon Prentice, a local veterinarian. At an event she goes to she learns she was adopted and her parents never told her. It causes so much shock in her life and throws her wedding plans in an uproar when she decides she must find her birth mother first before sh gets married. Brandon doesn't understand or want to delay the wedding. With her life in an uprooted mess will she be give Brandon the time and attention he needs or will her search take over her life with her not being able to concentrate on anything else?
Very interesting premise for an Amish book.

This is the third in the Creektown Discoveries series. I have loved visiting with the characters in these stores especially Orley and Lois Troyer. I love their antique shop and would love to visit one day (yes I know it is fictional).
Andrea Wagner has lived in a lie her whole life. Planning her dream wedding to Brandon Prentice a local Veterinarian, Andrea comes to find out she was adopted. Her ideal life suddenly seems to spin. Who are her real parents? Why did they abandon her? Why did her adopted parents not tell her? So many questions but very few answers. As she navigates finding her real parents, Andrea starts to push those closest to her away. Once she finds the answers she believes that everything will be ok But at what cost do these answers come?
There are times in this story that I wanted to shake the main character. She appears to be somewhat selfish, however, I guess finding out that the life you believed was actually a lie could send one into a tailspin. Altogether I loved the premise of this story. The author's characters were likable and relatable. The addition of a dog and cat really made the story lovable. I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not required.

The Apple Creek Announcement is book three in the Creektown Discovery series by best selling author Wanda Brunstetter. This is a Amish contemporary series that is so interesting. If you have not read the first two you will be able to follow this one easily. The other two are just as marvelous as this one.

Two of the series favorites are back again. I love Lois and Orley as well as their antique store. In fact, they are so lovable I wish they had a series dedicated to their back story and future.

This book is the story of Andrea and Brandon. He is a veterinarian and she is a piano teacher and artist. They are newly engaged and have a few issues. Some of the hiccups are minor and others are not. They each write a letter to the newspaper advice column Dear Caroline wanting help. Brandon strikes up a friendship with Orley and asks for his advice, also.

Author Brunstetter has written another page turning story. I was immediately captivated and because engrossed in the tale and characters. At times I even wanted to offer advice. I loved the fact that the engaged couple had a cat and dog that spatted. The author writes believable characters and situations. The dialog was authentic for Amish and taught me a few new words. There are mystery, redemption, humor, conundrums, family issues, adoption, wedding issues, and cute animals.

There are so many life and spiritual lessons in this book. This is a story of love, hope, faith, family, forgiveness and perseverance. As you read make sure you let those messages sink in. After you have read the book, you will want to go back and ponder the lessons. Be sure to catch the recipes at the end after the story.

I highly recommend this book and the other two. It would make a nice selection for a book club. The entire series would be a great choice for that. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. A copy was provided but these are my honest words.

I always enjoy a Brunstetter story. I am guaranteed a good, clean story of people who test their faith in so many different ways and still find their way back.
THE APPLE CREEK ANNOUNCEMENT finds Andrea Wagner enjoying her life and planning a wonderful future when she discovers she was adopted. This discovery causes her to question everything in her life, leaving her plans scattered as she researches her adoption. As the story resolves itself in a unique manner, Andrea will find her answers have no bearing on who she is now and her future. SIGH!!!!
