mostly enjoyable but some of the other storylines were distracting to me and took away from the bigger story.

A quick read with plenty of action, excitement, romance, and misunderstandings. Bryce and Sophie are made for each other and they set out to prove it.

Sophie's Choice
The Ladies of Harrington House, Book One
by A.M. Westerling

Lady Sophie Harrington is due to go into the London marriage market but she doesn’t really conform to the constricts of society to find a suitable match but would much rather stay at home in Cornwall. When a very desirable barrister Lord Byron Langdon appears. Sophie hopes her worries are over .

A really well written book with wealth of characters and a few twists and turns in the story and a nasty sister thrown into the mix . I found this book very enjoyable.

Sophie does not want to go to London for a season, so when a new boy next door appears (Bryce), this seems like the perfect solution. OMG that little sister though, I can't take her. She wants our Hero as well, and does some really cringe-worthy shenanigans to try to get him. There is a little mystery thrown in as Bryce seems to be a bit shady. It's a great story! Looking forward to the rest of the series.

A historical romance full of emotions and secret yearnings. I have not read a book by this author before however I would consider reading other stories in the future. The story is entertaining from beginning to end and the characters are unique and intriguing.

📚I was provided a review copy of this book by the publisher - Thank you for the opportunity to review all opinions and thoughts are my own. 🦄

This is my first book by this author and also the first in The Ladies of Harrington House series. A delightful start to the series and I am glad I picked this up as I enjoyed the writing and can now easily follow the rest of the series. Sophie is free-spirit and is not one to follow the typical structure of the ton. She is not interested in a London Season and is perfectly content staying in Cornwall. Bryce is a barrister who has moved in next door and Sophie is quite smitten with him. As for Bryce, he immediately becomes enchanted by Sophie. The story brings an exciting adventure as Bryce is actually there to infiltrate a smuggling ring. This was a thoroughly charming story filled with intrigue and mystery and wonderfully delightful characters. It captured my attention right from the start. The characters were nicely developed and there was no question as to how strong their chemistry was. I enjoyed the build-up of the romance between Sophie and Bryce - they were so perfect together. A very well-written and captivating story! This is one series I fully intend to follow!

I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Sophie meets Lord Bryce at the cove. They’re later introduced at dinner. He asks her mother to help him arrange his house. She brings Sophie. Sophie and Bryce are smitten with each other. He asks her father if he can court her. He has been recruited by her father and the magistrate to break up a smuggling gang. He has to pretend to be a smuggler. Sophie sees him be arrested. He has to prove to her that he is on the right side of the law.

The was fast moving and well written.

I don't think I have read any other books by this author but I will in the future. This was a lovely clean romance with a touch of intrigue with smugglers. Loved the character's except Leah who is a horrible sister and will take some redeeming in her book. The banter was good and nothing too angst driven in the story. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Started off liking this book but further into the book I found it was not a clean read. Too graphic for me! Thus the two star rating.

A smuggling ring is to be arrested in this tale of love. Bryce's supposed involvement in the ring is the catalyst that almost ends Sophie and Bryce's love.
Lady Sophie Harrington is not one to abide by society’s strictures. If there’s one thing she knows, it’s that she will not be paraded on the London marriage market in hopes of finding a suitable husband. When a handsome bachelor moves into the neighbouring country estate, she thinks her wedding prospects are solved - all she must do is make the man fall in love with her and convince her parents he would be a good match.
Successful barrister Lord Bryce Langdon escapes London to begin a new legal practice in the rugged county of Cornwall. However, being the object of desire for two beautiful sisters disrupts his life and distracts him from his true purpose for being there – infiltrating a local smuggler’s ring.
Can Sophie win Bryce’s love? What will she do when she discovers Bryce is not the honourable man he appears to be? Sometimes temptation cannot be resisted.
I have not read a book by this author before.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

Sophie prefers the country to the London season. She's delighted when handsome barrister Bryce moves into the neighborhood. Unbeknownst to her, he's in Cornwall to investigate a smuggling ring. What happens when she learns the truth?

This is a low-angst Regency romance that's driven more by plot than character.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.
