This was an intriguing read. Will remind you of Sixth Sense with a LGBTQIA twist. A quick, one sitting read that will leave you wanting more.

I had really high hopes for this one, but despite all my best efforts, I dnf'd at just over 50% in this book. While the storyline intrigued me, I couldn't see where it story would go. I felt like there were so many chapters that maybe could have been condensed into one and then there would have been more opportunity to maybe expand on the storyline a bit? It seemed like a car ride droned on for weeks. I felt information was given haphazardly and I was expecting to learn more about Aleena during it. The dialogue was a bit strained in my opinion, there felt like there was very minimal chemistry, and the tension i assumed would be present was basically non-existent. It seems like the first half of the book only covers what seems to be a few hours time, and i felt as if it was dragging on and on, which is ultimately why I couldn't keep going. The story definitely has great potential, and I feel if the pacing had of been a bit quicker, it probably would have kept my attention to be able to finish. Ultimately, I hope this get's a bit of a rework and a re-release, because it deserves that.

This book is not usually something I'd reach for but I saw it on a Storygram tour on IG and thought it sounded interesting and it certainly was.

It definitely has a lot going on and I found myself confused a lot by it. I would have liked more world & magic building but since it's intended as the first book in a series, I think it's okay and I'd probably read it's sequels just to satiate my curiosity.

The characters and their personalities were pretty well developed. Some of their interactions seemed a little awkward though. The pacing of the book felt weird since it all takes place over the timespan of like 3 days, but collectively, it has potential and it's a decent starting point for a series!

I wanted to get into this, but unfortunately I couldn’t —Aleena’s story intrigued me, and it had a promising start, but the writing style just wasn’t for me and it became a struggle to read. I found that a large majority of sentences were short sentences, which can be incredibly effective when building a scene or trying to build up suspense, but not having what I personally felt was a variety of sentence lengths made it difficult for me to read and get into.

However, it could just be a personal thing! The plot is, as I said, intriguing, so I would recommend giving it a go and seeing if you’re able to delve into it where I couldn’t!

Aleena doesn’t know who she ie. is she a ghost or real? Aleena has developed an attachment to Max, a werewolf and Persy, a healer (using magic to heal). They are a couple who live in the woods. Aleena has a power inside her that she doesn’t understand or even know how she got it. She doesn’t remember anything except that knowing she cares and will protect the couple in woods. She can’t touch them, yet let them know her as she fears how they will react negatively. One day, they are attacked but Aleena stops the attackers along with Max. She had tried to let them know that danger was coming. Persy meets and sees Aleena first. Max will see her later. When Varian arrives due to the council concerns about death happening more than usual until a special sapling tree is stolen from the council. Then the three of then are assign to get the sapling back. Aleena is going along even though the council are not aware of her. Will they find the sapling? Will Aleena find out who she is?

The story is a fantasy, magic, LGBTQIA, and some mystery. I liked all of the main characters. They are loyal and truthful to each other. There are exceptions though which causes problems turning into adventures that are twisty and quick. I especially liked Aleena. This is an amazing novel as there are unexpected turns of conversation. It made me feel as if I was with them in the story. I enjoyed this novel more than I can say. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀: chosen one, prophecy

I really enjoyed this book at first, but I was expecting more information about Aleena during it.

The action seemed to pass very quickly, like, in a few days, but at least the characters had chemistry between them and so my attention was fixed on them.

The only thing why I want to read the next book is that I want to know more about Aleena and the possible relationship between Max and Varian that is not very developed in the book, because of the confused feelings Max has.

Thank you NetGalley and Zahlia Amin for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

What a fun book! There was so much more plot than I expected there to be. The magical system was well-done and obviously thought through. The characters were each unique and I love seeing a story where polyamory is normal and seen as a genuine solution! Thanks!

An addicting page-turner with lively characters and refreshingly comedic interactions. A quick read, if only because you'll be unable to set it down.

This story had so much potential. It's an exciting quest set in a world of modern-day magic, with healers, werewolves, and mages abound. I loved the queer and polyamorous rep, which I've rarely seen before in books, and I appreciated how each character's relationships impacted their life to a different extent. A few character-focused moments hit hard, and I loved Persy's POV in particular.
Unfortunately, this was undermined by poor writing, plot, and world-building. The book had frequent grammatical errors (tense, spelling, etc) and a strange tendency to use fragmented sentences: eg "She ran towards him. A necklace hanging at her throat." I couldn't get immersed in the story with a grammatical mistake every five pages. Another thing that irked me was the use of recycled descriptions: reading the phrases "colloid-like snake" and "the phantom's full lips" 50 times really takes out the appeal.
Plot and world-building were also confusing and seemed to only be expanded upon when convenient. I was intrigued by a few smaller details, such as the concept of healer's curse, but larger issues went unexplained: How much of the population do magic users make up? How much do civilians know about them? Why did Varian keep so much information from the gang?
Rather than "showing" how the system of the Bureau and magic users works, we get weird info-dump trivia sessions that reminded me of cramming for a test. At around 40%, the characters have a discussion where they realize their quest has no strategy or relevant knowledge and they're just playing it by the ear--it felt like the whole book was written in the same way.
Two things that Apparition should've had more of: sarcasm and smut. As Aleena so wisely said: "There was being a touch-starved, emotionally deprived slut, and then there was her."

Thank you to Netgalley and to the publisher for giving me this eARC to review.

This book has a very interesting premise but I found that the characters let it down for me which is a shame as I looked forward to learning more about them. Some of the characters just came across as very annoying and it felt like there was too much going off at once.

Thank you NetGalley and victory editing for providing me this e-ARC.

This book intrigued me right away from the cover and roped me in by the description but I wasn’t even remotely prepared for the goodness of the story.
Aleena is a ghost who watches over two people she’s come to love dearly, Max and Persy. There’s ghosts, mages, werewolves, and spells. I enjoy interspecies stories like this one and I was here for the ride.

It’s a little slow burning, I wish there was a little more spice, but there’s more books to come that I plan to pick up!

This book sucked me in very quickly. The characters were super enjoyable. It was like hanging out with friends. The plot was very mysterious and I didn’t see any of the twists coming. It was very good and thrilling. I would definitely read many times again

One of the most interesting book I've read so far this year. A pleasure the whole time. Slow at times, which gives me more time with the darling cast. That I'm dying to see grow closer.

The plot for this book sounded so intriguing but I found the story slow and muddled. There were several plot twists that added more confusion than intrigue, and many characters lacked depth.

Thank you, Zahlia Amin, for allowing me to read Apparition early!

Honestly, this book surprised me. In a good way. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did and I'll look forward to the next book.

This was a fun read! Each character was so different whether it be because of their magic or that’s just how they are, but all 4 of them were very interesting. I loved seeing all four perspectives and looking into their past and how it created who we see at the beginning vs. the end. I went into this thinking it was going to be a stand-alone, but I do really need the sequel right now. That cliffhanger!!

I don’t read low/urban fantasy often, but I EAT it up every time and this was no different. From ghosts to werewolves to different types of fairies and high tech sexy cars, this book was a ride.. I loved the pacing as we got closer to the ending. The climax was so well done in that it didn’t feel to rushed or drawn out. A lot happened and there was a lot to take in, but it moved at fairly fast pace.

I absolutely adored Aleena! She was so sweet and soft, but she was also so badass and incredibly strong.. I loved her and Persy so much. From their tension to their friendship to everything in between, they were amazing. I loved how Aleena was the first to admit to herself that she had feelings for all of them and it was like ‘oh… oh well.’ I loved her relationship with Varian (LOML!!), he just always immediately understood her so well, and Persy and I’m so excited to see her with Max too! Same with all the other characters! I loved Varian and Max, and I’m very excited to see them with Persy. Persy and Varian have such an amazing banter, which I’m excited to see more of..

Would totally recommend to a friend!

I enjoyed this book I really like Aleena and her trying to discover who she is and how she fits in. I also like how it shows Max struggling between his love for Persy and attraction to Varian. The story was also really good and I liked how to fill us in on the lore and the world they had the characters do a quiz whilst on there Journey as a way to fill Aleena in on everything as, as far as she knows she has only existed for a year! There was tiny bit of spice but it was so well done! I'll definitely keep my eye out for the rest of the series as I'm interested in what they discover about Aleena's past, if they beat the bad guys and finally what will happen between Max and Varian and also Varian and his little sprite Aleena
