Absolutely loved this book!

The writing style was really good and I look forward to reading any other books from this author in the future :)

While this book had a very unique and exciting premise, I feel like it failed to deliver on the execution. For such a long book, I was expecting it to be a lot more interesting, but it just felt extremely drawn out. There wasn't enough humor or plot to keep me engaged as a reader and I found myself putting the book down more often than I was picking it up. By the time I finished it, I asked myself if it was worth it, and the answer was an unclear "maybe". Perhaps if I pick it up again in the future, I might enjoy it more, but it was too convoluted for my liking this time around.

Sheesh, didn’t realize how long this book was. I dislike overlong books almost as much as fantasy, so the main appeal here had to have been…comedy?
But there just isn’t enough comedy here for over 400 pages. And it’s just so long. Just look at that title. Even the freaking title is overlong.
Anyway, the concept here is objectively funny: an interdimensional soap opera without end and the wacky characters who created it. Cute, very cute, but again, not enough of it to stretch for over 400 pages. It sort of ends up exhausting itself relying on the same puns over and over.
There’s a spunky plucky protagonist who dreams of fame so much she renamed herself Starr. And there are chapter all exhaustively punning on the word Starr.
It’s that kind of cute where it veers right into cutesy. And it never knows when it’s overdoing it.
Functional, sure, very readable, some decent (occasionally clever) worldbuilding, mildly amusing, yes to all of that, but overall, some of this novel’s charms fall flat. No matter how fast it’s spewing out snappy dialogue and no matter how much glitter it throws your way. User mileage may vary. Thanks Netgalley.

Starr Weatherby dreams of being an actor. She hails from a small town and grew up with her unhappy, hoarder mother before escaping to Los Angeles to become a star.

Working primarily as a waiter and getting the very occasional, tiny gig (the mango!) Starr gets her big break when an unusual set of people have lunch at the diner she works at. One of these people, a producer, gives her an opportunity to star in a show called “Tune in Tomorrow”, and very particular instructions for how to get to the set.

Before Starr knows it, she’s introduced to a whole new world, well, a parallel one, where human actors star in the extremely long-running show that’s watched avidly by a mythic audience (centaurs, dryads, etc.) Starr ends up getting a part, and must contend with jealous costars, particularly one named Fiona, the star of the show. Fiona feels deeply threatened by Starr’s addition, and tries to get Starr to quit or get her fired.

Starr, on the other hand, is captivated by the mythic world, and, quickly wise to Fiona’s efforts, is very determined to stay on “Tune in Tomorrow”. She also soon learns that one previous actor on the show disappeared mysteriously, and begins digging, determined not to end up like that other woman.

This book was such a hoot! Randee Dawn pulled me into this story immediately and kept me hooked right to its satisfying end. I loved how passionate Starr was to be an actor and how amazing (and silly) the mythic world was.

At first, I thought this was going to be an “All About Eve” story with Starr being Eve, but it was so much funnier and zanier. I enjoyed the on set and behind the scenes hijinks, and Fiona’s increasingly desperate plots to oust Starr from the show where Starr felt she really came alive.

The parallels to real-world reality shows and their melodrama were nicely drawn, as well as the repercussions if Starr were kicked off the production.

I thoroughly enjoyed the pacing, plot, characters and humour, and love to spend more time beyond the Veil with Starr and her costars, and watch Starr “be the mango”.

Thank you to Netgalley and to Rebellion for this ARC in exchange for my review.

With a wonderful main character of Starr Weatherby, down-on-her-luck actress/waitress, this is a readable story. It is very enjoyable following as Starr confuses the line between magic and reality with the cast of well-drawn cast of characters. Another twist on god and mythology that takes the unusual slant of the humans acting as the entertainment in soaps for the mythological characters, the pace ticks along nicely and blends different mythologies together in an organic way that’s not too jarring. All in all, I was rooting for Starr since the beginning with her sleazy boss and thoroughly enjoyed the glitzy glamour of the soap opera world.

This booked presented a lighthearted twist on the showbiz world. I loved the concept and relatively enjoyed the book too. It had good world building but definitely weird. Also, it wasn't always and easy read with multiple points of view which I think kind of spoiled the enjoyment of the book.

This book is a case of simply Doing Too Much. The concept of a fantasy reality program is brilliant. I wanted to love it and while there were moments that sparkled, overall TUNE IN TOMORROW was too convoluted, too over-explanatory, and fell flat.

Need a fun read with. a dose of magic and reality tv all in one hit? Tune in Tomorrow is it! I was hesitant, as I hate reality tv shows personally though I se the draw, and this one pokes fun of the very idea while adding in mythical vibe. I do think this book would have been stronger if written for a slightly older audience given the content of the book (reality tv shows with drama, backstabbing, love affairs, and more adult characters). The writing and underdeveloped side characters missed their mark because of this limit, I enjoyed the overall premise more than the execution, but believe this was, again, due to limits for targeted audience. I would recommend for a light, fun read.

I was attracted by Jasper Foorde and, even if it's more Douglas Adams ihmo, loved this story and had a lot of fun.
A well plotted urban fantasy story, enjoyable and full of humour.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

TUNE IN TOMORROW is a unique and fresh urban fantasy novel that feels different than anything else I've read. Sharp satire, humor, adventure, faeries, suspense... it's all here! It's a really fun concept and was a blast to read. Highly recommended!

This book was a trip! If you are a fan of Douglas Adam’s, this book is for you! It has the perfect combination of fantastic world building, magic along with a touch of weirdness. If you need a break from reality, this fits the bill! Highly recommend!

A solid 3.5 stars but i think It could be more for the right reader.

I am a bit picky with my fantasy novels and i thought based off of the description i could like this one. But i did find It confusing with the multiple POVs and I’d finally get interested in someone’s and It would switch to the next. I was able to finish but i was looking forward to the ending. Which did seem like It could be open to a sequel.

A bit thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this novel!

The description sounded like an interesting fun read but sadly it didn't do a lot for me but for the right reader it will be a 5star for sure.
The POVs were all over the place at times and I was confused who was POV and who wasn't - that brought me out of the story quite a few times and then the enjoyment was gone.
Although the different creatures were very fun, cute and in parts adorable (oh i want a cute Brownie), the rest of the cast was not. Sadly, I could not click with any of the "humans".

A delightful, fun read from start to finish. Starr Weatherby is working in a diner and trying, rather unsuccessfully, to make it as an actress when she is recruited for the cast of a mysterious, weird "reality" TV show. As it dawns on her that all the strange special effects and costumes she's seeing are not actually fake and she is, in fact, starring in a show in another dimension populated by mythics, she gets caught up in the drama of the long-running cast, and is targeted for elimination by the powerful, corrupt grande dame of the show. This book made me smile and laugh the whole way through, and I really enjoyed all of the characters. I look forward to whatever Dawn writes next. Thank you to NetGalley, Rebellion, and Solaris for a digital review copy.

From the description, this sounded like it was going to be a wild, hilarious, fun ride of a novel but sadly it just wasn't that. It felt a little dull and repetitive and whilst the world sounds incredible and unique, it was just eh... I think there was a lot of potential that just wasn't fulfilled.

None of the characters really stood out to me and the plot was sort of just there. The mystery aspect also just wasn't mysterious? Which was a bummer.

This was fine but wasn't for me and I started to skim read at about 48%.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an arc of this in exchange for an honest review.

I thought this was going to be a great read. The blurb made it seem like there was going to be a lot of mystery and fantasy , but for me, it was a mixture of confusing and boring.

The author went with putting Starr in a world where she doesn't understand anything that's going on and no one is explaining anything. Even the chapters in other peoples' POV don't help, because they don't explain anything either. I know that some readers love piecing together puzzles like this, but they just irritate me.

The descriptions are great, and there's a lot of really imaginative bits here. Sadly, it just didn't work for me, but for the right reader this will be an amazing read.

Feedback based on the first quarter of the novel - it’s amazing but I need to pause for a bit.

First of all - concept? Phenomenal. I love it! The sort of premise that just immediately made me want to read more and and discover more.

And the execution is really fun! So far the tone and the plot of the book really fulfill what I want from this type of book.

Unfortunately, at this precise point in time I don’t have the mental or emotional energy to get really drawn into a world and a plot with too much excitement, and that’s making it difficult to read this. I’m looking forward to picking it up again in a few weeks when I have a bit more energy to devote to it!
