Fantastic! I really enjoyed this book. The story is simple - City girl goes to a small rural town and falls in love. What could be wrong with that? If you are a lover of romantic comedies or Hallmark movies this is a great book to read.

The main character was lovable and shy and our small town hunk is sweet and caring. It was an insta-love story but definitely a lowborn on the romance. With dual prospective we see the thoughts of both characters and I loved to see how clear it was they felt the same way but it wasn't like they were both too oblivious, Their fears and worries felt real enough and the love is genuine.

The one thing I will say I wish we got more of is the story line of Luke's relationship with his previous wife. We know she passed away but not how. We know it makes him worry if he can take care of someone else or let someone into his life but not the event that made him worry that. When he is rushing to the hospital and that brought back memories we don't know what event that was reminiscent of.

Overall, sweet book and I liked that characters and story. Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book!

Cowboy Ever After
Jennie Marts
Kaylee Collins writes romance novels, and her main character is Duke Ramsey. Kaylee has never been on a farm or a ranch; even though her books are popular a lot of the facts are wrong. Her editor strongly suggests Kaylee spend time on a ranch so she will know what country life is like. Kaylee grudgingly packs up her Corgi, Gladys, and heads to a ranch. Kaylee, tends to be a bit shy so her editor suggests she takes on the persona of Sassy the heroine in her stories.
At her first sight of cowboy, Luke Montgomery, Kaylee calls him Duke; he looks just like what she has imagined Duke Ramsey would look like if he were real. Luke lost his wife a few years ago and his sworn off love; it hurts too bad to lose someone. When he sees Kaylee getting out of her car with the pink cowgirl hat, pink shirt and awful boots he finds it humorous. He promised his sister talk him into letting the writer visit but he didn’t have to like it. He tried to find a way to make Kaylee want to leave. He serves her beanie weenies and has her mucking the stalls. It takes him by surprise that she bravely takes all he can push at her. She doesn’t go running back to the city. He finds himself falling for her.
This is a sweet and very clean romance. It took me a bit to get into it but soon I was rooting for Luke and Kaylee. I enjoyed watching their romance as it grew. Of course, I knew it was going to have a happy ever after. I look forward to more books by author Jennie Marts.

I found this audiobook so pleasantly entertaining from start to finish. Lots of humor and with just enough drama throughout the book to add some excitement. I loved all of the main characters in the story and all of the country charm that went with them. The chemistry between Luke (a handsome cowboy) and Kaylee (a writer in need of learning more about ranch life for her next book) was so charming. This sweet, clean romance book is certainly a perfect beach read.
Also I thought the narrator did and excellent job.
I also would like to add that this is my first book by this author and I will certainly read more of her books in the future.
Many thanks to NetGalley and also Jeannie Marts for gifting me with this audiobook.
Bonus… Be sure to get the recipe for the delicious carrot cake at the end of the book.

Contemporary western romance. Hallmark format.
An author is sent to a family ranch in Montana so she can live the real life experiences of working in barns, with horses and cows, fences and small town living.
The meet cute: A goose yell sends her into his arms in alarm.

Carrot cake recipe included at the end of the book.

🎧 I listened to an audiobook Narrate by Virginia Rose. The performance was well done with distinct voices for the hero and heroine. Emotions and occasional sound effects were clear. The best speed for me with recording was between 1.3 and 1.5
Sweet, and adorable. The heroine is innovative and brave.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing.

Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Cowboy Ever After by Jennie Marts

Available June 28th 2022

A writer from the city goes to visit a ranch to get perspective for her writing project.

This was a sweet, light hearted, and clean romance.

The story offers up lots of fun and witty banter between characters, as well providing strong and consistent structure for each character throughout.

Consistent story progression, I did not feel any low points in the story.

I would remember this book to anyone who is looking for a fun light romance on the low end of drama.

Thank you @hallmarkpublishing @netgalley for the copy of the audio for my review.

A definite story for a rom-com movie. I enjoyed listening to the audiobook of Cowboy Ever After. Kaylee character is a little unbelievable, as a writer of western romance fiction she is totally clueless about the cowboy life. She does all her research through the internet hidden way in her Chicago apartment. When her agent points out that her books are lacking and that she needs to experience the cowboy life or she may lose her publisher. Kaylee, even though she isn’t the bravest of souls gathers her inner Sassy a character in her novel to go out West. Taking her dog, Gracie and driving to Montana, she heads out to her agent's brother’s ranch. But once she sees Luke, she confuses him with her handsome character Duke.
Luke isn’t thrilled that his sister has saddled him with a famous author and devises a plan to hopefully shorten her week stay. But Kaylee isn’t what he expected and his loneliness is now apparent that Kaylee and Gracie has arrived.
Thank you NetGalley for this eARC audiobook. I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story. #NetGalley #CowboyEverAfter #HallmarkPublishing #Dreamscape Media

This book is cute enough but it sort of creeps me out. There's a few elements of American Christianity being better than any other kind of lifestyle. I liked the insecure heroine, but I found the hero really annoying. Clearly the author wanted this to be grumpy/sunshine, but the hero also was instantly attracted to the heroine, so the premise didn't really work.

A wonderfully romantic summer read! I enjoy sweet, clean romances that make my stomach flutter and my heart melt. Jennie Marts accomplishes this beautifully in Cowboy Ever After. I don’t always appreciate cowboy stories, but this one had me hooked with the writing. I loved Kaylee’s style of dialogue and her sass as she tries to learn what it is really like on a working ranch. Luke checks all the stereotypical boxes for me, but he’s so charming that he becomes his own form of irresistible. There is plenty of comedy as Kaylee experiences the ranch firsthand as well as tender moments of sweetness. The supporting characters are exactly the ones I love to see in a hallmark story…cute kids, adorable animals, awesome friends, and community support. I enjoyed the sweet romance and the draw between Kaylee and Luke as they learn to trust what they have found in one another. Absolutely recommend for all lovers of sweet hallmark romance. The narrator, Virginia Rose, captured all the characters and moved the story along at a realistic pace. Her tone was inviting and brought the story to life in my mind.
I received a complimentary audiobook from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions expressed are solely my own, freely given.

A sweet and fun story about an introverted, shy writer from the city who’s forced to go on a trip to the country to make her western romances more realistic and relatable for her readers. She’s suddenly taken out of her safe environment and forced to take some risks, try new things and make some new friends (not to mention her very cute Cowboy who she’s staying with). Luke has been laying low and staying away from the dating scene since his wife died five years earlier. From the moment his beautiful female guest arrives, he can’t help but notice her sweet charm, her endearing awkwardness and the generous heart that she has. With the time ticking during her visit, will these two be able to step out of their comfort zones and take a chance on the opportunity for a happily ever after?

This was just the light hearted, fun western romance I was hoping for when I saw this book. You should read this if you love books with:

💖 city girl and country boy
💖 second chance romance
💖 romantic tension and almost kisses
💖 chicken races
💖 swoon worthy dances

Many thanks to Hallmark and Netgalley for an advanced copy of this audiobook, all thoughts are my own.

Content: brief mention of grief from losing a spouse years earlier, sweet romance and kisses

The main character is an author...she goes to live on a ranch...This is a romance written like true life. The author is talented in weaving a story that is fun to listen to/read. I do not like different voices on audiobooks...That being said, this was a fun book. I probably would have enjoyed it if I had read it instead of listening to it. The characters are likable and the setting awesome...Enjoy this book which was sent to me by Netgalley for review.

If you are looking for a sweet, clean romance, this is the one for you.
Kaylee Collins is an author that lives almost like a hermit in her Chicago apartment with her corgi Gladys, as her sidekick.
Her latest book, a western, is not coming along. Mostly because Kaylee has never truly experienced ranch life.
When her agent arranges a week at her brother’s ranch, Kaylee is definitely outside her comfort zone but decides that channeling herself as her strong book heroine, is the only way to survive the ranch.
What she never expected was meeting widower rancher Luke Montgomery. Luke is not looking for anyone. He’s been heartbroken before and doesn’t want to take a risk of that happening again.
But somehow feelings develop between them. But what happens when not only Kaylee is due to leave, but also confesses that she’s been playing the of her heroine?
This is a feel good story that reminds you of a Hallmark movie.

Cowboy Ever After by Jennie Marts

Kaylee a western writer needs help making her writing sound more realistic she google's information for her books. Her agent thinks that she needs to get the experience to make her stories come alive so she send her to her brother's ranch to get a better perspective. Luke is a cowboy and rancher.

The story starts off slow but then the story becomes light hearted and fun. I like the chemistry between Kaylee and Luke. I am a believer in love at first sight but I still felt the romance felt rushed a bit.

I do like small time feel stories they tend to be wholesome and full of activities that the whole community get involved with and that makes for great story telling.

This is a clean fun, cowboy, small town, and HEA romance it was quick to read and you will get some laughs out of it especial the chicken scene. Luke is your typical hunky cowboy and a widower. If you are a fan of clean western romance this book is for you and I highly recommend it. I rated this a 4.5 I did not rate 5 stars because I felt like the falling in love was rushed.

I cannot wait to watch this on Hallmark. Virginia Rose did a fantastic job narrating this book she brought the characters to life.

Thank You to Netgalley and Hallmark Publishing for a free audio version of this book for an honest review.

This was exactly what you would expect for a Hallmark cowboy book and I loved that about it. Sometimes a girl just needs a sweet, squeaky clean romance with low drama and high fluff. Thank you for the advanced reader copy, I appreciated the sweet reprieve from my more heavy reads
