#HerDyingDayThis book was a great ride! I loved the twists at the end and that the "bad guys" got theirs! I also love a good I'm worth more realization by someone that really IS worth more and realizes it and takes steps to make that happen! I am now adding Minda Carlson's books to my TBR!

This book had a good fast paced mystery. The author kept me guessing until the end. However, I didn't like the characters. At times I wanted to dnf but I stuck with it and was satisified with the conclusion.

I will admit that I sat on this one for a hot minute because I didn’t love the cover. I did myself a disservice! I thought this storyline was super unique and exciting! I finished this audiobook super quickly because I loved everything so much! Also, super happy that there was no surprise pregnancy! I think that would have ruined the entire book for me.

I really enjoyed this one. I didn’t love the teacher/student part but I didn’t choose this book for that. I thoroughly liked the mystery. I was suspicious of everyone.

I thought the narrator did a fantastic job.

Mystery author Greer Larkin's disappearance has plagued an entire community fascinated by true crime. June Masterson, is an aspiring filmmaker desperately to get her first documentary off the ground. Why not focus on the one writing she's poured over for most of her life? Initially, June thinks its going to be a fairly straightforward story. After all, everyone has their own theories. Greer's best friend, Rachel, believes that Greer's fiancé Jonathan must have killed her, and Greer's mother agrees.  Greer's agent has always assumed that their client committed suicide when writer's block became too much. Jonathan, the ex fiancé, is convinced that Rachel was far closer with Greer than a normal friendship might cover.  When Rachel gives June a suitcase of Greer's personal writing, they both hope that June can find the answer. Unfortunately, Rachel is found dead quickly after and June finds herself in the path of a killer.

For fans of true crime and thrillers, Her Dying Day is a fast and fascinating read. For those who are very big into the thriller genre, you may find yourself piecing together bits and pieces ahead of time.

Her Dying Day is now available.

I was interested to explore this book! Thanks to Netgalley and publishers for allowing me the opportunity to dive in.
Cozy and quirky are two of my favorite descriptors for this book. I enjoyed the multiple mysteries and loved a strong female lead conducting the, sometimes "Interesting" investigative work.

Good, definitely not great. This was a very predictable thriller. There was very little suspense. If you want a light, fluffy thriller, this would be great for you.

Thank you to NetGalley, Mindy Carlson, and Dreamscape Media for the advanced listener copy. My review is voluntary, and my opinions are my own.

This was a cute, cozy mystery type book. This one was out of the ordinary for me. I am more of a thriller book fan, but I wanted to give this one a go. the first line really drew me in: If you’ve never been stuck under the bed while your lover has sex with his wife, I suggest you skip it. It’s no trip to Disneyland.” Once I read this I was like, well, this should be interesting. and while it did get interesting it was a slow burn and I found myself wandering and losing interest in the storyline. It wasn't until the last 15 to 20% of the book that I really found myself involved in the storyline. I don't regret giving this book a chance, as I was very intrigued by the plot twist at the end that I was not expecting. Mindy Carlson wrote a witty and humorous cozy mystery for her debut novel. I loved the characters, and the main character was quirky, tenacious, and spunky and i loved her spirit and determinativeness to solve a mystery and crime.

Thank you to Crooked Lane Books and NetGalley for providing me with this ALC in exchange for an honest review.

This was unfortunately a DNF at about 40% for me. I need to read synopses more carefully, because this is like the 4th book in the last month that featured a teacher-student relationship, and I am particularly easily angered by that being trope included in the first place, and it just keeps showing up in my reading life lately, so I knew I was already going to have a hard time sticking with this one. But then on top of that, it was just beyond hard to believe that her thesis project would have been approved in the first place, let alone that she would have been allowed to contact actual family members of someone who died not that long ago. When I started getting more frustrated by every single sentence, I knew it was time to DNF because I wasn't mentally giving this book a chance anymore.

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the audio version. Ehh was okay. I don't think it was my favorite murder mystery. The narrator did a good job. I just didn't like some of the subject matter in this book.

I listened to the audio version of this booked and was hooked from the start! Carlson weaved an enthralling g story, following both the life of the main character and the mystery she was investigating. Loved it!

I was really looking for the twist in this one and still didn't see it coming. The storyline was fresh and fun to read with an interesting and suspicious cast of characters.

Unfortunately I just could not finish this audiobook. I got about a third of the way through and still wasn't interested in the story. I would have kept with it, but in addition to that, I didn't enjoy the narrator and found the writing to be a bit cheesy.

The disappearance of mystery author Greer Larkin has been an intriguing mystery for the last 20 years. Aspiring filmmaker June Masterson is ecstatic to do her first documentary about the disappearance of Greer Larkin. While filming the documentary, June interviews those closest to Greer. Everyone seems to have a different theory as to what happened to Greer. Greer’s best friend, Rachel, gives June a suitcase full of Greer’s diaries. The more June digs into the mystery, the more dangerous it gets for her.

I really enjoyed the mystery of what happened to Greer Larkin. The different theories and suspects made me read more to discover what truly happened to Greer. The only reason I rated the book 3 stars is because of June. I didn’t feel like I truly connected with her. Some of her actions and choices in the book really had me disliking her as a character. However, I really enjoyed the rest of the plotline, including the ending.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an audio copy of Her Dying Day.

June Masterson is a documentary film student working on her end of year film, the trouble is she keeps changing her topic. Lucky for her she is sleeping with her very married professor who is allowing her to skate through this project. She finally lands on a subject: the disappearance, and assumed murder, of young famed author, Greer Larkin, who happens to be June's favorite author. Greer vanished almost 20 years ago after a public fight with her fiancé, a breakup with her best friend and a parting with her controlling managerial mother. There were plenty of suspects, but since Greer's body was never found they could not convict anyone for her murder. June decides with her documentary she will finally solve this cold case. As she begins her interviews, she starts to receive threats from the killer...can she solve this crime before she's the next victim?

I really liked the premise of this book and the search for what happened to Greer Larkin, her story was interesting and full of mystery surrounding what happened to her. I also liked most of the characters in her life and they really helped the story, except for the neatly tied bow of an ending. However, I did not like June's story at all, she is an entitled brat. Everyone tied to Greer's disappearance, who have secrets to keep and have been dragged through the mud in the media, magically grant an unknown college student complete access to them and their story but she pouts when they don't give her everything she wants. BTW, as a filmmaker, this is not how creating a student documentary ever works, especially for a "top of the class" student. Another film student is tasked to help her during the interview of the prime suspect and all she does is tell him how horrible he is and how she wants to slap him. Most of the story is centered around her affair with the married teacher; she constantly talks crap about his wife and how bad of a person she is, except they've never met and she the one having an affair with a married man. June is a obnoxious narcosis, ironically described in the book about another character. I had the audio version read by Hillary Huber who did an excellent job and kept me more interested in the story than I would have been otherwise.

A gripping who dun it read. Loved the mystery and meeting the suspects and piecing together what happened. The narrator was a little hard to listen to and i think that took away from the actual book

I’ll say it every time, I love mysteries that have a historical component- even someone from a younger generation, dredging up cold cases has such a fun aspect to it. Especially, as a die hard book lover, reading about a mysteriously missing author? Yes please.
